I am 169.3 cm so I wouldn't make it, but I can assure you I would outperform most of the guys. I know myself. I can't help my genetics, the men in my family are short. I think this is a stupid requirement. I know people will say I'm a crybaby, but consider that most Gurkhas are very short and are elite soldiers.
sadly it doesnt matter in my country they ask for 175 but if u have less u could apply for a captain higher ranks require less heights but u have to have higher education

I don't understand one thing height kum ki wajah se kyon reject hote hai. Kai states mein height relaxation hai like in ladak. But it is also part of india. If they are allowed then why not in other states. What height have to do with deshbhakti.
North Eastern and some northern states also SC AND ST some tribal groups have some advantages they are accepted with small height 160cm.
Firstly, Indian army never discriminate. Secondly , people living in northern states and in Ladakh region or the few states more which are have given exemption in height , reason being there average height is less than average Indian due different climatic conditions and environment. So they are given exemption . You can understand in this way people living near high altitude have shorter height it is not any defect rather human body's adaptation to environment because at hight altitude oxygen level is low so body adjust to low height giving better oxygen flow. That is why the are given exemption mind you people living in high altitude are usually good climbers and good at mountain tactics.
This is the reason all over the globe average height are different due to different climate conditions like Chinese have less height and European countries have more average height.
