Over half of the people's polled in that poll did not vote in 2020, and almost half said they did not intend to vote in 2024. Plus, the only people polled are people who still have home phones and are willing to answer unknown or blocked calls.

When the day comes to vote many people that pay no attention to politics and are less likely to participate in polls will decide whether or not they vote. Thanks for this important segment! With some high-profiled people now hinting at not supporting Biden next year due to his position on Israel among other things, I'm beginning to fear that Trump or some other MAGA person will become president and also that Republicans will take the Senate. I don't think Trump is the person one should count on to support the Palestinian cause or to safeguard women's bodily autonomy.
It's high time for the American people to grow up and act like adults. A big part of that is to recognise the need for compromise. You can't always get what you want. In fact, it's very rare that one gets what they want. When I'm discussing politics with my friends I always try to hammer in that there are two parts of politics. The first part is the easy part: passion and ideology. Many people feel passionate about various things. The other part is often overlooked: being able to produce results. A politician must be strategical and tactical, but so do voters as well. Given the American electoral system, it would be a disaster for Democrats to vote for 10 different candidates. The end result won't be that a Democrat wins, regardless of how people may wish the system to be different.
Many people want to get rid of the "two-party system" in the US. That's commendable, since I think the system we have in Sweden much better reflects the voters. However, when one's opponent is a fascist who want to get rid of the administrative state, now is not the time to push for that change. The trick is to find a good middle-ground for both one's passion/ideology and the tactics needed for negotiating as good a deal as possible. I think if liberals and also socialists sat down to think it through, most would be able to come to the conclusion that it's more important to save American democracy than to punish someone who supports Israel maybe too much for their liking (something probably almost any other president would have done, too, in the same circumstances).

You hit on the fundamental problem. Our judicial and criminal justice systems were not built for this kind of internal threat coming from someone in power. Too slow, plodding, and deferential to power and money. A two justice system which the purveyors and architects of it gaslight us on. They are making us eat doo-doo and 50% of our citizens keep smiling and say they like it. Unlike the judiciary in Brazil which prevented former President Bolsonaro from running for the Presidency for 6 years after his potential coup transgressions, here our justice system ditters. I read that all legislative power in the government is vested in Congress meaning that it is the only part of the government that can make new laws or change existing laws. But the President Biden now can veto ones he doesn't think will help the country. But now that we have a Extremist mage Republican Mike Johnson as speaker in the house in congress with the rest of the MAGA Republicans and they have NO idea what they are doing because they go to Trump for direction. Biden can only veto if he doesn't want or like what congress wants to put into law. That means if Trump or any of the mage Republicans candidates running for President we are all trouble because then they have control of everything they want to do to us. Like democracy gone, constitution gone, freedom gone, are rights gone. That's why we need as many Democrats in our government as we can. So our only chance is vote Democrat down the ballots.
Just look at what happened in Germany in the '20's and 30's and your questions will be answered. Hints: one of the first things to be infiltrated was the Justice department; the police and military were put in the hands of one of his henchmen; the Night of the Long Knives put the Austrian corporal into power.
My understanding is that part of the plan is to vet their candidates to align with their ideals so if the Republicans win both the House and Senate it'll be filled with people pushing the Project 25 agenda to give the president dictator power. So yes, if Trump gets in but has a Congress against him, then Congress can prevent him from destroying the constitution like he said he'd do. But considering several members of the current Congress seem to be in it, and that's been enough to grind things to a halt, it's still a dangerously real possibility. 😢

There's a large group of people who hold Trump as a cult leader without admitting or even knowing that they're in a cult. This is the group of people that desperately need help- and don't realize it, or deny it if it's ever brought to their attention.
