I had no idea how to plan for enough yarn when I started out and then I overbought out of fear of wouldn't have enough. Thankfully, I have figured things out. My problem is, I make blankets, big blankets. I can't just make a throw. I think I need queen size blankets. 🙄 Now and then I'll make hats and scarves, but I always go back to blankets. I have a serious yarn addiction. It's just so pretty and it makes me happy. Homer Simpson drools over donuts, for me is yarn.

That's why they can get us for fancy hooks/needles, cute notions, pretty bags and such too. We who make are drawn to beauty and invested in its cultivation. Otherwise we'd never put in the effort when boring but functional, mass produced, fully made things are cheaper.

I was just there today! Bought 6 skeins of the icy pink sparkly juicy couture yarn, and some big twist! I’m especially excited to use my big twist party flecked yarn. I got 15 off with a coupon and the juicy couture yarn was 25 percent off! As well as big twist was on sale. I scored!

Yep that's me lmao! I've started getting AT LEAST two skeins of a color I like so I have enough to make something or start something to where color difference won't matter :)

You are so right. The first year of Hobby Lobby's big clearance SAIL.I bought so much yarn in 1 or 2 skeins.And now I don't have anything to make with it.
Make a scrap blanket. It doesn't have to be actual leftover yarn. I struggled with my first scrap granny blanket because I was trying to be relaxed and just so a blind grab out of the basket for each row and I was worried colors wouldn't look right together, but I did show myself to have a second draw of it really bugged me. I loved it. I have a basket of leftover yarn. I do tend to buy too much yarn for certain projects but if rather have to much than not enough. I'll grab that yarn to mix in with the leftovers if I feel like I just need more color.
