    I've been following you for a while (just realised I hadn't subscribed lol) and your improvement is simply amazing. Your serve and forehand are fantastic. Once you clean up your backhand technique a bit (you are fairly solid now) and add a bit of slice, you will be able to feel comfortable on both sides. I think working on your net game would be most important at the moment, as with your serve, forehand, and height, if you start hitting a few good volleys, your presence at the net alone will start making your opponents going for risky passes and giving you free points. Keep up the great work and the great content!

    Nice work Trey. Probably some of the best tennis I've seen you play. Here is some unsolicited advice. I noticed when you see a ball you can attack you tend to really go for it. I've found that with my own game I do better when I try to hit with the same effort on short balls as I do on rally balls. The fact that the ball is shorter in the court and that I can hit more easily out in front allows me to put pressure on my opponent without consciously trying to hit harder. Doing this has really cut down on my errors in those situations which in turn has really helped my frustration level. Even if you don't put the ball away you can close the net and put the next ball away. The more you can get to the net, the more successful I think you will be.

    Learn to use the wind. When fighting up wind, hit drop shots. When hitting downwind, come to the net off a good fast pace shot. When fighting a cross wind, slice your serves with the wind to drag him off the court and come in off it.

    At 6:16, you could have just tapped it back or hit a backhand slice shot. You shouldnt run around your backhand there unless you are 100% certain you can hit a forehand winner because you wont be able to cover the other side of the court in time if he hits it back.

    At 6:11, I'm not sure why you felt the need to run around that backhand (unless you think your backhand sucks), but since you did end up with a forehand, you either rip it inside-in for a down-the-line winner (all or nothing shot) or you feather a nice cross-court drop shot. For me (I'm not that fast), I would have played a backhand slice to feather a cross-court drop shot. But it is something you should practice ahead of time. Cheers!

    6:11 - It looks like since you decided to run around to your forehand you had to take a longer route and ended up only being able to hit the ball when it was dropping almost below the net. This didn't allow you to take advantage of the offensive position you had. Usually for those short balls the higher they are when you reach them the easier they are to put away (or you can just dropshot).

  • @robertgarcia2266
    @robertgarcia2266 Месяц назад

    You're planting your back foot on the run and momentum is tipping you back so your dipping your shoulder, which makes your racket face open more. You also redirected power up by jumping with you feet upwards because you didn't have the power due to being unbalance falling back. Either your late or have bad habits and aren't planting and redirecting momentum
    Practice planting for your shots without jumping. You should not be doing silly things like that to force a aggressive shot. Best is to just get it back neutral if your off balance. If you hop for balls you have to be level or they fly and its best to pop up both feet to allow you body momentum to float in the air which helps staying level and using racket momentum spin you. Tipping over and hopping is a recipe for disaster. Being level in the air or out of the air is key to controlling ball height and hopping is a bad habit unless you must, like running down a forehand cross court and you got to get it back hard, you swing into the ball and let both feet up. Its not advised but stay level.
    More squats lol

    ruclips.net/user/clipUgkxI3tSuIviNjBzIYm8L8_1JK1Gf8zYDDMZ?si=qI77qqAuAt_wsdPw 1) The first serve in this clip you call “good” is actually a big beach ball asking to be flattened. Pace without placement is pointless. It was right in the hitting zone of his forehand. He literally didn’t have to take a step on the return. 2) I know your smart so I’m assuming the “What was the right play?” question on the last point was a rhetorical question. Obviously hitting a medium slow forehand directly back to your opponent while standing 2 feet off the court was not the right play. 3) When you play someone one on one in basketball you size them up by analyzing both their strengths and WEAKNESSES. What are the areas that your strengths can take advantage of their weaknesses? How can you neutralize their strengths? The same applies to tennis. Don’t get star struck by a tennis players strengths, look at what they aren’t as good at. I know you don’t want to come across as a Punk in your comments but in your head you should focus on their weaknesses. 4) In the Mike match you really didn’t take advantage of his relatively weak serve, especially his second serve. You took so many at knee level instead of pressuring him by stepping up and attacking. If you had managed to hit 70-80% to his backhand you could have would’ve won. Hit short and low or drop shot him to to bring him to the net on your terms and see if he can volley well. Players at this level with full Western forehands often have poor volleys because the grip change is so drastic. Plus know the strengths and weaknesses of the different forehand grips. A full Western grip player usually struggles with low short and or wide balls. This is where the ability to knife slice ground strokes would have been invaluable. Western players have have high hitting zones, exactly what you were providing. 5) In the second match you were noticeably better at Free Swinging the 2HBH compared to the first match. You often have this Push vs Free Swing dynamic on your backhand. Luckily the Free Swinging backhand is showing up more often. In the beginning it would only show itself during coached sessions. 6) You should have been watering at the mouth on the down wind side of the court. It gives you the opportunity to hit pound flat ground strokes knowing the wind will keep them in. Plus a head wind makes drop shots a breeze.😅
