I think Karl was the first car to be added to game while it was in development and at some point Karl was supposed to be remodeled to be a car in the game but the devs forgot about him and added other cars instead Karl is now in a place where all things forgotten by the devs are and Karl somehow escaped from there and now is seeking revenge and his first target might be the player hoping that one of them might be the dev

I have a theory of Karl too. I believe that he was a model car that the devs put out, but they forgot/ditched him because of Karl's oddities. Lost and alone, he wonders through the game, searching for the player who also searches for a place to belong (which is mom's house). He wants to simply toy around and mess with the players because he has no one else to play with. Karl always loves to create new ways to make fun and frustrate the player.
We should try giving him a soccer ball!

i have karl theory: karl was a early model for a car but when the Dev's added the other car models and removed karl from the game, he ( or it i guess) wanted revenge so he ( OR IT ) decided to stalk players and kills them with his bad luck so hes the like the god of wrath or the god of badluck of long drive

My theory on Karl:
he was supposed to be a in-game car, but he was cursed by an evil wizard who placed a curse on him (if he passed the player, he would have bad luck), that wizard was the palyer's childhood bully turned evil wizard.

I got an interesting theory. So at the very end Karl 2 showed up. What if Karl can duplicate himself, little by little, slowly making an entire army of Karl’s >:) . If he cant duplicate himself maybe he can take over other AI bodies…
Karl's Backstory: Karl was a ordinary car and spond like a ordinary car in the Long drive, the developers of the AI mod in the Long drive scrapped Karl and turn him into a bland car, the reckless spirit of Karl was annoyed and he haunts the game forever, these days karl hunts a popular RUclipsr called "camodo gaming", Karla is basically the same as karl except she was a different version of karl, maybe a pickup or SUV version, who really is Karl? Karl is the Dead spirit of a boy of the developers of the AI mod, karl died in a car crash, when he died in the car crash he was holding a toy car that looks like the car in the game, they put his toy car in the game files, his spirit came and hacked the car into the game, now Karl controls the whole game spawning cars deleting objects and killing players
Theory 2: karl is a placeholder for the car for the mod that will be placed in the mod in the future

It’s like the movie called “Knowing” but your the main character going into Karl’s traps. Maybe he’s attempting to help you. I also feel like he’s been showing up a lot more often eh?
Theory:
KarL was a work in progress of the plymouth, and then they decided to scrap that model and remake it because, I don't think people would drive that. And then they made him a new enemy as the devs said, more ai/enemys.
So whenever you see KarL he causes something bad to happen, because we haven't really seen him go the way camodo goes.

Reasons why I think Karl is an undercover alien in a UFO
-Karl is immensely fast for a car
-Karl is trying to imitate a car to camouflage
-it uses it's power to destroy you so you can't get to you're "mother''
-it refuses to stop when you go in front of it

I've got a great theory: the Plymouths that we're seeiyng are Soviet Plymouths. As i think the long drive is located in the USSR. So the story is that, when they were developing the Plymouth, an engineer named Karl, did another prototype, similar to the inthial Project. But, when they recreated it in a realistic scale with plastic (all engineers do this) the building burnt down for unknown reasons and it killed 34 people, and the company failed, even if they still released the Plymouth but with minor success. That's why we dont know it now, but then, with the Chernobyl explosion, the rabbits, UFOs, and Karls generated to invade Soviet union and then the world.
Edit: Soviet Plymouth doesn't exist, but you know, it's the long drive...

My theory for Karl is that Karl was a work in progress car/entity made by the dev. Unfortunately the dev gave up on Karl because the work he wanted to pit into Karl was too much. Angry, Karl goes home to his girlfriend Karla hoping for some emotional support, she breaks up with him on the spot since she found out that he was hanging out with other girls. Enraged, Karl now possess the spirits of other cars, haunting Camodo and causing bad luck to whoever he sees.
This is a very deep origin story/theory about Karl and I know.
