    For future reference (this goes for VE and Airflow calculations to get proper AFR as well), you should be able to take your measured (actual) and divide it by the target and that is the percentage change you should apply to the table. Instead of having to guesswork it until you get it right this formula should speed up your process a lot! Thank you for the videos I'm used to boost based tuning and not load based and your videos have helped me navigate the software a lot better.

    Hello. When you said the 19Ts make more boost with less wastegate duty cycle, does that imply that the 19Ts are less prone to wastegate rattle? Thanks

    • @jku392adventure
      @jku392adventure  11 месяцев назад +1

      Hey, that's not necessarily a true correlation, the wastegate rattle is more from the sloppy wastegates rattling against the wastegate arm. So unfortunately if they are cheap turbos, they could start to rattle eventually. But mine have been perfect. Even my viv 17t that I had for 3 years didn't rattle

  • @vibur9608
    @vibur9608 2 месяца назад +2

    0:32 You mentioned, that the 19t spool ~200rpm later than 17t.
    Can you say they fell laggy or unresponsive to e.g. stock or 17t‘s?
    Still struggling on the decision if these would suit for a dd.

    • @jku392adventure
      @jku392adventure  2 месяца назад +1

      My thoughts, if you were to only want to push your car to 18psi, go with stock size or maybe 17t. If you wanted to get more power, higher boost, I felt that the 19ts were easier to tune, and the boost curve is very smooth compared to the 17t. I wouldn't run 17ts again on my car whether I was doing low boost or higher boost. Either stockers or 19t.
      Daily the 19ts are not bad at all. But if only pushing 18psi you'll notice more lag. If pushing more, then 19ts are worth it 100%

    • @jku392adventure
      @jku392adventure  4 месяца назад

      Sorry for the delayed reply. For the 17t turbos, and all supporting mods you can easily push them to 24-26 psi on e40. But you will need supporting mods, lpfp and either port injection or the helix overdrive. Without the extra hpfp upgrades, you can usually get around 20-21 psi on e40.
      On 91/93 you can likely get be safe with 16-18 psi but not soon much timing. Or a little more timing a some less boost. It's a delicate balance

    Good vid. How long did you have the 17ts in or how many miles really ??
    The 19ts have a higher boost threshold causing then to spool at higher rpms hitting full boost later in rpms. Turbo lag is from an old Turbo where seals are going bad and boost isn't consistent through out the Powerband or spool as quick as they used to.

    • @jku392adventure
      @jku392adventure  Год назад

      Hey! Thanks! I had the 17ts for about 3 years and only 20k miles before one decided to pop it's oil seals (that's my guess) but one also went bad less than a year old and I had to change the internal wastegatea components.
      And I will say the 19ts are very consistent with their boost numbers. The 17ts were harder to achieve boost targets accurately

    any thoughts on 19t v3 vs v4?

    • @jku392adventure
      @jku392adventure  3 месяца назад

      I think they will be comparable, but I went with the v4 because I heard they updated a few things internally. But also the fact that if the turbos blow, you can unbolt them from the manifold instead of having to unbolt the whole exhaust manifold

      @@6mtcruiser depends, on my car, it would involve me removing the intake piping and working from both the top side and bottom side. My last 17t viv, I had to remove the turbos after 6 months to weld in a new waste gate

      @@jku392adventure so now that you’ve had them for a while, what’s your verdict on their reliability? how many miles have you put on them? i plan to run them around 20 psi e40 on my 335 i know they can make great power im just concerned as it seems to be rolling the dice, esp some crap out in less than 5k miles

    • @jku392adventure
      @jku392adventure  3 месяца назад

      @@6mtcruiser it's been about a year and I can say I am still pleased with these turbos, I push mine hard, so at 20psi they will definitely last longer than mine will. They are still running strong and not blowing smoke. The car does have a little bit of smoke being catless and about 180 thousand miles. But it's been minimal with all my turbos. Yes it's a gamble, but are you installing yourself? Pure 600s is another good option. But up to you

    • @jku392adventure
      @jku392adventure  6 месяцев назад

      Hey! They are still doing great! I sometimes can see a little smoke out of the exhaust, but that hasn't changed since the day I installed them. Probably the catless dp and 174k miles on my motor don't help 😂😂 so far, zero complaints. I love hearing them spool with minimal throttle 🤙

    • @rattlehead7281
      @rattlehead7281 6 месяцев назад +1

      Awesome. My E90 has 181k and the stock turbos have wastegate rattle so I was thinking about getting the RB Oem billets. I'm not looking for big power maybe like 400 at most. I want a turbo that can last because I put at least 100 miles a day on my car (highway). I look into them more.

    • @jku392adventure
      @jku392adventure  6 месяцев назад +1

      Oh wow, that's a lot of miles a day! And yeah I would recommend these turbos, but also if you do the install yourself, if they did go bad. You could always have them rebuild. Esp because they can unbolt from the manifold which would make it easier to remove. Or you could also buy them and have the internals rebuilt and balanced from turbo lab of America. But I'd buy them and run them first imo
