“Massilia shall conquer all.” With the shot of sprawling yet solitary Massilia on the edge of France, just completely symbolizing “We have just begun.” Love it. So pumped. I love watching Total War series’ so much lol
LOVE Massilia. Spears at the front to hold off anything the barbarians throw at you and you have your swords and axemen to go on the offensive or use them as a shock infantry. Swift cavalry is always a nice touch and while they dont have archers they also dont need them. I love throwning spears more anyways, the animations are so freaking cool when the enemies get stuck with a javelin in them. :)
Hopefully this will go better than the livestream :D

You should attack Corsica and help the Romans out with the Etruscan and increase your rep with rome get an alliances with them. Then go west and north and concentrate on capturing coastal settlements and resources and go for a economic victory.

Or you could form an alliance with carriage and Athens and destroy rome before it gets op

When u hv mercenaries in ur army, send them in first, they cost to keep and ur men r more valuable.

If you look close you at 1:40 you can see that on the map it says "Massalia" with an A, but next to the faction symbol it says "Massilia" with an I. Personally I prefer to say Massalia as that is how I've always heard it.
Thats because their starting province is called Massalia, the faction itself is called Massilia however the place is called Massalia.
Have a nice mod that buffs them with new unints, but the best part is its all real units that they really fiught with.

When I played as massalia i wiped out the volcae and helped the Romans against Carthage and the Etruscan league which payed off rather well considering I soon owned all of Africa except for carthago which the Romans had kept for themselves
Bruh Libya and Egypt are the places I always invade, prob cuz one of my favorite factions is Seleucids.
Gives them 6 or 8 new ones and my favriot are their narines, like a cheap royal peltas

You lost the wine to the romans who took the eutruscan settlment wich you have trade agreement with, if you brake the agreement with the eutruscans Rome might trade with you.

You traded with the etrucsan legue but they got taken by the romans
i cannot beat this on legendary I have tried and tried. my best game was when I totally fortified massillia, my army was all silver cheverons but I could not leave the city. Everyone was at war with me. but I lasted 100 turns when finally I was caught out of my town by a hairs whisker. godddammittt
You have been calling the coins "gold" it actually was Electrum,a mix of gold and silver.lol
Stresses the importance of diplomacy in early game but is negotiating with every one that Rome hates. -_-
Being friendly with rome is not the be all and end all, I want to make sure I'm friendly with as many factions as I can
WarriorofSparta It's ok now, but I do have to say though that not a lot of people play like this. It's always the same
war mongering junk in many playthroughs and I appreciate he way you play. So I guess you have my sub : )
@@Warrior_of_Sparta A friend to many is a friend to none, and I bit my tongue when you made a non aggression pact with Etruscans when they were gonna die anyways, and lowered relations with Rome.

you should keep your hoplites in phalanyx, you would loose a lot less men
Massilian hoplites dont have phalanx wall they have hoplite wall

94djanek It just depends on how you want to expand really. Rome can actually be (pinch me I'm dreaming) a good ally and buffer as well. I am restarting this faction and I want to push north into Britannia and South into Iberia and of course, conquer Gaul.
