    Is JKA having fun changing Katas all the time?! Movement 25 always was a fast and strong Gedan Kakiwake Uke, since Nakayama's days!

      What is your karate organisation?

    • @sassuki
      @sassuki 9 лет назад +3

      Владимир Александров JKA. That's what makes me so mad about this! Why don't they just f***ing stick to Nakayama-Sensei's BEST KARATE series and leave us alone instead of coming up with a new variation every 20 years -.- And every other Shotokan organization by the way! I don't like politics. All these splits are kinda childish IMHO!
      You?

      The simple answer is yes. It seems some karate members haven't been around long enough to see the changes and certain Japanese JKA instructors that I spoke to, deny that there are changes at all. Changes have been going on for as long as I can remember and my understanding of Nakayama Sensei's Best Karate series and his video series was to put an end to this. Clearly it didn't.
      2 years ago in Japan I spoke to another JKA instructor on the subject of kata change & why. Over dinner he said it's because who ever is the Head at the time always wants to leave their mark, in which case look forward to more.

      Bill Blinky OMG! I f***ing knew it. I'll stick to the Kata DVD series from Asai-Sensei's time then (the only one with ALL 26 kata inside anyway). They can keep their politics for themselves -.-

      sassuki Difficult question. I am member of SKIF and I found (after 15 years) training that Kanazawa sensei`s kata system is closer to original. In my opinion kata for competitions is not good. Bunkai is very important.

    Ja, das Drehen über die Fersen habe ich auch schon vor vielen Jahren kennen gelernt und praktiziere es seitdem konsequent, aber manche Leute glauben es mir bis heute nicht....
