  • We went out looking for great battery-powered PAs earlier this year. DJTT's store manager Josh linked up with Electro-Voice to take a closer look at the EVERSE 8.

Would be good to have a comparison with other speakers in this niche pro portable battery powered speaker market, the other two brands that immediately come to mind are Minirig and Soundboks.
This is a topic that comes up a bunch, with people usually trying consumer portable speakers and finding that they either sound bad, or that the aux input latencies are horrible.

Soundboks I think has the best Low end in the portable speaker segment. (Even though they are on version 4, Specifically version 2 had the best low end)

Three days ago, I made a mix of two separately filmed my amateur videos for 5 minutes and 40 seconds. Compared JBL Eon One Compact vs Everse 8 (room / stadium) Metallica band: Enter Sandman Live Los Angeles 2023. ruclips.net/video/XvxojtyQkbk/видео.htmlsi=n5R6PyS0SIu-M1gb Equalizers for both speakers are disabled. I dont know. I heard the EV8 and wanted to cry. It was loud but it was sad sounding. Just no low end, a JBL 110 sounded better.
Video should probably just be about the ska pro haha.

I've had to play with the DSP a bit to get what I wanted out of them. I feel like they're REALLY bright out of the box, but nothing a little EQ couldn't fix!

@@joshoids4551yea I didn't get a chance to play with the EQ, but I did get to do a side by side with the Bose S1 Pro.
They both lacked any bass out of box, although you'll frequently hear that the Bose plays well without EQing, I think that doesn't hold up for dance music at least.
But you can't beat the weatherproofing, combo inputs, swappable batteries, and loudness-to-size ratio on the EV8. Definitely a superior buy in general.
Would definitely ensure anyone buying test it out before buying though.

Everything is fine with the bass at Everse 8. 110 max 100dB/EV 120dB Can't compare PA speaker to Party speaker. I have and enjoy both!

@@WWeiss-nv5vz Yes, you are right) comparing professional equipment with amateur equipment is not entirely correct. Different classifications, different consumer properties, different purpose for use, different cost. Thanks for the reply. Good luck!
