When I lost my fiancé in november 19 of 2022 I just basically sat, drank, and cried to this song and I can wait forever everyday Spent a lot of time working 15-18 hour days 6 days a week to have something to focus on. I basically pleaded with my employer to allow it and left and found somewhere that would when they wouldn’t. I drank every waking moment I was home, 6-7am to 12am on my days off and from the moment I walked in the door until about 3 hours before work on every work day. In the end I used to buy yogurt to keep in my fridge so in the morning when I couldn’t hold the whiskey down I could eat a few spoonfuls of it so it would stay down. The amount of loathing and self hatred I experienced is otherworldly. I used to have no good days, just bad days and worse days. The sheer amount of alcohol I drank would be enough to get everyone in this comment section drunk twice over for a week. Still surprised I’m not dead. I know it’s cliché as fuck when they say “music saved my life” but many many nights I probably wouldn’t have made it without simple plan/my chemical romance and liquor. Shits rough sometimes. I don’t know if I’m any less broken or if I just figured out how to control it better. I spent a lot of time waking up in a sweat and having panic attacks in the middle of the night, so I just started keeping a bottle of whiskey on my nightstand and would wake up in the middle of the night to drink more so I could have a shred of hope of sleeping. It will be seven years in a few short weeks. The amount of letters/journals I’ve written you now fill a small bookshelf. Dunno if it helps anymore if it’s just a routine at this point. Brought me to tears. My ex told me similar things after 8 years and I had leave. He said he wasn’t surprised, said he dosent like who he is when he hurts me, etc but the man never made any steps to change despite my patience, encouragement, self sacrifice, and love. When I left he made himself feel like a victim and instead of making steps toward growth back tracked. It’s so hard to leave someone, but if they won’t give of themselves, they leave you perpetually empty. Leaving you to choose to slowly die, allowing them to suck you dry.
