Yes... you can have more inputs, like switches, buttons...
Note: I'm using a Mega board on this remote.

How did you attach the curved surface to the front face? Just glue?
Instant adhesive plus one very small screw on each side.

If you mean using Uno instead of Mega, yes.

How to make it receiver for this transmitter for robo dog
The dog also has an nRF24L01 module (one without that big antenna).
But how we can make a robotic dog with nrf24l01 and servo motor
