Thanks for sharing this; I'm worried about overheating with my AFM arcade1up, so I expect I'll end up doing something like this, myself!
This is great timing, my nephew just bought the marvel pinball and was worried about the heating issue. Now he'll have a perfect tutorial, appreciate the knowledge share!
No problem, glad to hear it. Sorry I did thr actual mod awhile ago before I even considered doing videos. So if you have any questions just let me know know!
@@gijoel84 you got it, thanks man! 👊
Thank you for sharing, dude!
I will be using this haha. Thanks Joel. Obviously you know mine just went down so I obviously need extra fan power in there.
Lol, I had one take I started before this one and Jojo walked in the room yelling and slaming the door behind him.... in that one I actually mentioned you by name, lol
@@gijoel84 hahaha yeah recording stuff when kids are around is tough. You never know when they will barge right in yelling
GIJoel, I have this pinball game and me and my wife are addicted to it. It’s in our screen room here in Florida. Never had an issue since buying it December however, yesterday the score board went blue and the screen won’t boot on. I believe the increase in temperature here in Florida is the reason. My question is; is that motherboard fried now? Does it just need to cool off? Tks
Any update up on this?
How essential would you say it is to have the fans in there? Would decasing not be enough? Also, I started the process of decasing but found some type of ground wire screwed into one of the posts that the motherboard is screwed into. Any idea if that needs to somehow remain connected? Thx!!
I ve heard of a lot of people just decasing the board without adding the fans. The fans are just another level of protection, if you haven't done the pinner mod nor plan to, I would say decasing would probably be fine.
It's been a long time since I did this, I don't recall the grounding wire. But from what I've heard with the number of people who have had boards go bad from over heating, I would say decasing improves your likelihood of it lasting longer, over potentially frying it from static shock and not having it grounded. But I m no expert, just my 2 cents
Also, does the bass shaker make everything rumble and shake inside?
It adds some vibration that you can feel in your hands when touching the cabinet
Mine died tonight 😢
@VeganRashad oh no, that's terrible news! You can try to reach out to arcade1up, I know people in the past have been able to get replacement PCBs from them even if they are out of the warranty period, if they have them, they will allow you to purchase one.
That looks so tacky...😂
Who is gonna see it. If nothing good to say why say anything
