One of the funniest parts of this game is that this is the first (and I believe only) time in the Super Mario franchise where Mario actually goes to court facing criminal charges
Ever since then, Mario has been running away from law due to the various crimes he has committed over the years. It is unknown if the case of Super Mario will ever be resolved.
Something I've noticed in almost every Mario game I've watched is that - in other games when people make little mistakes or are aggrieved by bad controls, they snarl at the game, or blame themselves. In Mario games, they always, always blame Mario. People will miss jumps and go 'MARIO for God's sake!' as he falls. It's great.
@@TheHopperUK fun fact, pac man can buffer inputs! Also a lot of “bad controls” like that are actually as a result of a lack of coyote frames, which allow you to jump slightly after you fall of a ledge. A lot of older/rushed games don’t include these, and because we are so used to them we time jumps incorrectly and fall off.

Dan's gamer skill is selective. He can beat the Pachinko Level and Breath of the Wild without dying, but he spent 3 hours on Bianco Hills and couldn't charge his controller properly.
Fun fact: I'm fairly sure this is the only mario game in which the police get involved. Peach gets kidnapped every other week, and has to be rescued by a plumber, but the moment said plumber gets falsely accused for graffiti (and is defended by royalty) he is fucking *imprisoned* while a known kidnapper and dictator is left to roam free.
Also, it’s shit like imprisoning a plumber being defended by the royalty of a neighboring kingdom who has also saved that royal several times that will cause a war between those two nations.

I can't express how hilariously diabolical it is that, despite watching RT try and fail multiple times to jump on the surfboard-bloopers, nobody told him you can literally just walk onto them instead of jumping.
The whole mama Peach thing is evern weirder when you realise that her first response wasn't immediately saying no, it was like shocked wonder. So some part of her must have thought it was possible!
"If water hurts him, how can he swim?" Dan, F.L.U.D.D. can spray water with enough force to suspend Mario in midair and propel him across the surface of water. That thing's like a supercharged fire hose.
“Dad it’s not safe to use the power washer to launch yourself 5,000 feet in the air!” “Shut up son, go and play that Mario game you like, and while your at it, go get your old man a cold frosty, I’m running a little dry.”
I love that Dan was *so positive* at the beginning and as soon as he got to the mid game and ran face first into all of Sunshine's bullshit that positivity utterly *dissolved* like it was a water soluble Yoshi 😂

Shigeru Miyamoto went out of his way by using the cosmic powers of the universe to make Super Mario Sunshine into the Dark Souls of Bad Controlled Games that it was probably the reason why RT’s controller wasn’t charging. Now that’s a Bianco Bros moment if I do say so myself.
Super Mario Sunshine is probably the worst of the 3d Soup Mama games, and yet I can't help but hold it in a higher regard than the wii u game, simply because it’s more memorable visually.
Watching this while trying to get fabric unstuck from a zipper for a pocket your phone is stuck in over the course of an hour really accentuates the experience of slowly losing your mind
1:08:05 of all funny moments in this video, I think I find this one the most fascinating. So many other fails here are due to RT playing poorly or the game having unfortunate jank to it, but this one feels straight out of a mario maker troll level. Like a designer had to put this in intentionally, this area where you have to carefully navigate over to it, and eventually decided not just to reward the player with nothing, but to launch them a hundred feet into the poison ocean below.
As one of the people that ultimately helped RT during the infamous lilypad level, he scared me so much during that whole thing. The chat was screaming NOOOOOOOOO when he went in the pipe at the end of the level.

I assume it's because Shadow Mario isn't weak to water in of itself, but the fact that FLUDD shoots pressurized water. So him going swimming or walking in the rain won't do anything. Or maybe the devs just ignored basic logic I dunno lol
God, I laughed so hard when he was climbing Noki Bay and that first spring-loaded boxing glove shot out and knocked his ass off the mountain. I could *feel* the rage through the screen.
Wait just a damn second, I just realized something! That Judge Pianta said, and I quote… “Until Isle Delfino is completely free of his vile handiwork, Mario shall not be allowed to leave.” If that’s the case, then what’s Bowser doing wasting his time in a hot tub when he could be taking over the rest of the Mushroom Kingdom while it’s unguarded?!
Bowsers also on vacation and he only really seems to care about Peach. Also Luigi is still home and while he may act like a weenie he is just as strong as his brother if not more so.
All the other Mario playthroughs RT has done has been a fair mix of difficulty, fun gameplay and jokes. But this... this is just pure frustration, anger and confusion. The first secret level, the charging controversy, the fact that about a third of this video is just Bianco Hills. The fact that you can just *feel* this poor man slowly becoming more and more defeated while playing. This playthrough is just pure agony and suffering... and I love it
Am I the only one who finds it hilarious that RT can go through dark souls like it’s no biggie laughing and making jokes but is actually rage pausing and mad at Mario sunshine 😂.
@@Dinoman972 Yes, but a lot of those are either "take the death and never fall for it again" or a specific part of a specific area. Not the basic camera and movement controls or the entire idea behind like a third of the collectables.

Mario with a jetpack but with a twist: The twist is it's the least responsive encarnation of Mario and every movement feels like dragging against an invisible force
Wonky controls, questionable design choices, and an age of 20 years may make deaths frequent in this game - but damn, that clown horn that plays every time Mario expires makes them way less agonizing. It's hilarious.
Despite how much a lot of people disliked this one, this game was actually a large part of my introduction to games as a kid. It was difficult, but it was the first time I had actually mastered the controls for a 3d platforming game. Thank you RT for showing off this hidden gem!
My favorite thing about rtgame's videos is that there is always a joke that becomes the big thing for the video, and somehow because of twitch chat, it never gets old, and thats pretty impressive considering these 2-3 our videos are probably 10-15 hour vods cut down at the end of the day.
fun fact: the nintendo brand usb-c difference is why there was that whole issue a few years ago with off-brand docks that were literally destroying people's switches.
It's only an issue with the dock, charging a controller shouldn't have any issues with any cable, I think rt just had a damaged cable or it was never actually plugged in
RT you fool. The reward for completing the game 100% wasn't the "Have a relaxing vacation screen." The REAL reward is knowing you never have to play Super Mario Sunshine ever again
The fact that there were so many hidden coins and shines, is the entire reason why I try to interact with everything in games, even when its not interactable.
Daniel I want you to know I laughed so hard over the bianco hill segment that I started crying and then proceeded to have a panic attack because I couldn’t stop laughing. I had to stop watching for a bit so I could breathe. 10/10

The moment rt said "im going to 100% this game" my heart sank and out loud I said "oh no," knowing the hell he was about to set upon himself. But at the same time I could not wait to watch him loose his mind hahaha!!!
i swear ive watched this video 5 times (usually put on to listen to while drawing or something as background noise but since im good at multitasking i just end up watching it again anyways) and i swear i can never remember when the payoff to this arc occurs. everytime his controller finally dies it completely takes me by surprise, it's great
The entire Bianco Bros sidejoke with the controller charging controversy subplot still makes this my single favorite of RT's "lets play all of" videos😂cant stop rewatching them all though regardless theyre better than feature length comedy movies
It would be so difficult to play an infuriating game like this in front of an audience of thousands of people who will criticize every mistake. Kudos to Dan for actually finishing the game

I've never felt so much more happiness and relief than when Dan said "the controller is charging" after he changed to the Nintendo brand. What a beautiful moment.
I'll be honest, after Galaxy's and Odyssey's phenomenal controls, I tried Sunshine blind and felt like it was borderline unplayable in the 3D All-Stars collection. I know that it's an old game but my goodness did I struggle with basic movement. Props to Daniel for doing this, it was a good watch
I’d like to point out that at 54:50 the entire chat was yelling and pleading with RT to not go in the pipe, only for him to not notice in time and warp back to Delfino Plaza. I nearly rage quit right there and I wasn’t even playing
I thought i remembered Mario Sunshine being amazing, turns out me and everyone else who played it as kids was just suffering from Stockholm Syndrome. Thanks Nintendo
@@catchara1496 At least with Melee, the jank and utter BS give it the charm it still has to this day while also giving it tons of depth. In Sunshine? Every moment, it feels like the game wants nothing more than to see you suffer at every turn. Maybe there was a reason I never finished this game as a kid.
If the charger is unable to communicate with the device how much the device needs, both the device and charger will prevent charging above anything but the minimum. So yes it was charging, but by so little that it was just barely hanging on (until it wasn't) So the problem wasn't that you weren't using the Nintendo brand cable, but that you were using a really shitty and/or broken cable.
@@Rene-xi3so Well that's just flat out wrong because I use my phone charger to charge my Pro Controller all the time with no issue. Unless I'm missing something.
@@shinysamurott613 Ah, nah could be my mistake then! I've seen a bunch of people having issues with other charger cables and stuff, even high powered ones and I remember someone mentioning it. The same happens for my controller. Perhaps its either a new thing or just someone making assumptions

I just said 5+ years cause im only 21 so 10+ years ago i was still having fun in my childhood ignorance, but yea basically every year “goes south” in some regard cause humans are hardwired to remember bad times better than good times as a defense mechanism to try and avoid bad things in the future
Police: "Well be watching you" proceeds to not notice me chase down a clown of myself who is clearly the one actually doing the bad things. Seriously shadow Mario runs by the TWO cops who told him this, holding peach while Mario chased him. The royalty who is visiting was being kidnapped in front of you, and they did nothing.
Oh my grief, he never learned the spin jump maneuver, the one move in the game that gives Mario so much mobility it almost renders FLUDD obsolete. Ray Tracing Gaming could have avoided so much headache with that move... This is my favorite Mario game, and I even think it has better controls than Mario Odyssey, but unlike most times a streamer I like plays a game I love, this whole video was still absolutely hilarious to watch.
@@jrpgjunkie8326 To be fair, he was having issues with the controls, so he may not have been able to pull it off consistently even if he knew about it/wanted to.
@@hiimcrazyfordrwho As long as you're facing the right way on the ground when you initiate the jump, it's pretty easy to just adjust your position left or right or pull back while in midair
He also didn't appear to use the side somersault very much, which imo is one of the most useful jumps in the game. Especially if you dive right afterward. Great way to get distance. I cringed at the fact that he continuously dived during regular jumps in special stages, when if he wouldn't have done anything at all, he probably would've made it.
Getting Blue coins in this game is like getting the Power Moons on Odyssey minus the audio-visual cues, immediate award, or general sense of fun!! Great job on finishing this man!!
If you're wondering why this games movement sucks ass, it's because of Fludd, when the devs made the game they reduced how much control you have over Mario's movement in comparison to Mario 64, the reason for this is to make Fludd more important in the platforming. The problems start due to the fact that Fludd is very clunky when hovering anyways so Mario just doesn't feel good to maneuver which is one of the most important things in a game, doubly that for a platformer. There is also the incomprehensible decision to add mandatory Fluddless sections with instant death pits that are universally awful due to the fact that you now have to play as an annoying to control character missing the mechanic that was supposed to help them platform and maneuver.
I have no clue if this is accurate, but knowing Nintendo I wouldn't put it past them to make an ass backwards decision like that to make you rely more on one specific mechanic while screwing over the rest of the game 🙄
I'm losing my mind in this comment section. Mario 64 has like 3x as much jank as SMS, and 99.6% of the game is possible without using the hover nozzle (the only things that aren't are the 4 blue coins on the pillars at the bottom of Noki Bay). I'm convinced that they broke the physics with the port or something, because the movement in SMS is very crisp, compared to something like Galaxy. Honestly, I wonder if part of the issue also comes from the lack of notches in the controller.
@@nothayley I'd played Sunshine as a kid and loved it, and when I played it in this remake it was absolute misery, in large part thanks to the momentum, depth perception, and physics. I heard from a ton of places that the port screwed up in some way, so I dug out my old GameCube, popped in Sunshine, and played for several hours, all the way until Peach gets kidnapped the second time, to test the difference. The result? They're the exact same. Every problem I had in 3D All-Stars, I had on the GameCube. Every time the game seemed to think I pressed the wrong button on the Joy-Con, it was the same with the GCN Controller. Aside from visuals (and an inverted scheme that I changed seconds into All-Stars), not one thing felt any different between the two. My conclusion is that I, along with most of the human race, are having a hard time comprehending the fact that we were dumb kids and a game we loved actually isn't well-made. Now, your brain and reflexes must be wired differently. And I don't mean that in a bad way. Somehow these odd mechanics and bouncy physics where it feels like Mario is about to die with every step he takes just clicks for you, and I'm honestly a bit jealous. But having replayed both 64 and Galaxy (Galaxy on the original Wii even because I wanted the old control scheme) immediately after Sunshine, to me, and seemingly most of the known world, those physics feel far snappier, more responsive, and better connect to the player in every regard. In Galaxy I looked forward to any semi-dufficult platforming challenge I could find. In Sunshine I dreaded if the game wanted you to walk in a straight line. You working better with Sunshine's engine is great. But for the rest of us, we'll just take what we've been getting with every other 3D Mario title.
@@nothayley (I know it's been 11 months, but I wanted to offer my perspective on this, as a massive Super Mario Sunshine fan.) I love this game in spite of its issues. I think a lot of the reason why I love it so much is because I play it so often. And even though I'm not a speedrunner, I love the game's speedrunning community, which teaches shortcuts, glitches, and strategies to get around some of the more frustrating moments and mechanics. Sunshine is undeniably a deeply flawed game, and its creators admitted that it was extremely rushed and came out at least several crucial months before it was finished/polished. This was not an issue with SM64 or Galaxy. (And I say this as someone who does not enjoy playing SM64 at all; I didn't grow up with it, and I have no love for its controls. But there's a reason outside of nostalgia that people adore it so much more than Sunshine, and I have to admit that it is a much more "complete"-feeling game than Sunshine.) When you get deeply into Sunshine, to the point of memorizing even the most obscure and random blue coins and being able to manage the controls, it is a lot more enjoyable. But probably 99% of people who play Sunshine have (understandably) not played it enough to navigate around its glaring issues - and most of them are quickly discouraged and exhausted by the fact that those glaring issues, weird physics, strange depth perception, and unforgiving mechanics rear their ugly head VERY EARLY into any playthrough. Even as someone who loves this game and has beaten it countless times and put more hours into it than any other game, there were a lot of moments when RTGame encountered issues where I knew it wasn't his fault, and where I even knew there was a reasonable chance that even a speedrunning pro could run into the same issues. (This was especially noticeable with the volcano boat and the Pianta Village chuckster level.) It's fine to love this game. Heck, I adore it. But it is an undeniably incomplete and jank game that doesn't feel good to play unless you're very used to it and forgiving of its issues. These issues persist in both the 3D All-Stars port, and the original (although I would say I prefer playing it on a GameCube controller any day).
Okay, years back I had replayed the game after years without playing it, and I could 100% figure out they made Mario control more awkwardly because of FLUDD. It's so visibly a *design decision* that it's a bit baffling it made it into the final game without someone saying "what do you mean, we're intentionally making the platformer handle worse?!"
This game was my childhood. Granted it gives me an aneurysm whenever I try to go after those damn blue coins and some of the secret shines, but this game will always be a nostalgic masterpiece for me.
There's something weirdly validating to see someone else feel how much of a nightmare this game is (esp the challenge levels!!!) As a kid (and even now) everyone loved this game and I despise it (in fairness I loved the aesthetic of it, just hated playing it). I swear the ~calming challenge level music~ activates my fight or flight response every time it shows up in those calming youtube playlists As shity as it is, I'm glad u now share my pain
for the longest time I thought I was terrible at 3D platformers, then I started playing sm64 and loved it, *even on an emulator, playing on a keyboard* it felt better than sunshine
this has to be one of the most chaotic "let's play all of ------!" video yet, what a series of streams to start the year on (caught a bit of the blue coin searching, which was really rather chill and nice, and i remained completely unaware of the previous insanity that lead us to this point)
Holy shit, I just started replaying this on GC and I legit died 10 times on that first challenge level so kinda relieved it wasn't just me. Just fantastic.
I just love how in Mario Galaxy 2 when one of the secret levels from this game shows up he sounds hopeful and happy, little did he know about the absolute tragedy of a playthrough that would come to be known as super Mario sunshine
Alternatively: Hello all you Bianco bros! Super Mario Sunshine is a 20 year old flawless masterpiece with no flaws whatsoever. And please don’t harass the man about the controller. He was ignorant of Nintendo’s capitalism.
I'll note that the Pro controller won't charge if plugged into an unregulated charger because that runs the risk of ruining it. Otherwise it works just fine with any USB-C cable you have.
Interesting thing about the lava boat; when you were spraying from the back, you acted like a rudder, so the direction you spray is the direction you turn since the boat rotated from the center
Feel like RT's "oh no" at 13:07 is the perfect way to describe this whole stream/video. just the solem defeated sound of him realizing how much more he has to do.
My favourite part was when RT had to stomp on the tree to anger the bees, which he then had to follow to all the way to Hogwarts on Yoshi while kicking fruits just to meet Von Karma and water the wall next to him to get the blue coin.

It still astounds me that Sunshine managed to release in the state that it did. We had Mario 64, a game that completely revolutionized the way we control video games with massive worlds to explore. We went from that to a game where it’s impossible to control Mario and the levels are nothing but a jumbled mess. At least Galaxy got us back on track, and Odyssey controls like a dream, but Sunshine was borderline unplayable.
@Chandller Burse I beat it once. That’s enough. It _is_ a buggy hard to play mess. I shouldn’t have to wrestle the controls in order to just play the damn game, especially in a collectithon platformer.
This was the first playthrough I watched live on twitch, I thought it was going to be a fun nostalgic experience. Cut to several hours of falling off tight ropes, backtracking on the lily pad blue coin, and screaming at mario.
1:30:42 this is why I hate when games have limited time events that only ever happen once, it’s not fair for people who didn’t have time to play and missed their only chance

My favorite thing about rtgame's videos is that there is always a joke that becomes the big thing for the video, and somehow because of twitch chat, it never gets old, and thats pretty impressive considering these 2-3 our videos are probably 10-15 hour vods cut down at the end of the day.

I'll be honest, after Galaxy's and Odyssey's phenomenal controls, I tried Sunshine blind and felt like it was borderline unplayable in the 3D All-Stars collection. I know that it's an old game but my goodness did I struggle with basic movement. Props to Daniel for doing this, it was a good watch

If the charger is unable to communicate with the device how much the device needs, both the device and charger will prevent charging above anything but the minimum. So yes it was charging, but by so little that it was just barely hanging on (until it wasn't)
So the problem wasn't that you weren't using the Nintendo brand cable, but that you were using a really shitty and/or broken cable.

Oh my grief, he never learned the spin jump maneuver, the one move in the game that gives Mario so much mobility it almost renders FLUDD obsolete. Ray Tracing Gaming could have avoided so much headache with that move... This is my favorite Mario game, and I even think it has better controls than Mario Odyssey, but unlike most times a streamer I like plays a game I love, this whole video was still absolutely hilarious to watch.

@@hiimcrazyfordrwho As long as you're facing the right way on the ground when you initiate the jump, it's pretty easy to just adjust your position left or right or pull back while in midair
He also didn't appear to use the side somersault very much, which imo is one of the most useful jumps in the game. Especially if you dive right afterward. Great way to get distance.
I cringed at the fact that he continuously dived during regular jumps in special stages, when if he wouldn't have done anything at all, he probably would've made it.
Getting Blue coins in this game is like getting the Power Moons on Odyssey minus the audio-visual cues, immediate award, or general sense of fun!! Great job on finishing this man!!

If you're wondering why this games movement sucks ass, it's because of Fludd, when the devs made the game they reduced how much control you have over Mario's movement in comparison to Mario 64, the reason for this is to make Fludd more important in the platforming.
The problems start due to the fact that Fludd is very clunky when hovering anyways so Mario just doesn't feel good to maneuver which is one of the most important things in a game, doubly that for a platformer.
There is also the incomprehensible decision to add mandatory Fluddless sections with instant death pits that are universally awful due to the fact that you now have to play as an annoying to control character missing the mechanic that was supposed to help them platform and maneuver.
I have no clue if this is accurate, but knowing Nintendo I wouldn't put it past them to make an ass backwards decision like that to make you rely more on one specific mechanic while screwing over the rest of the game 🙄
I'm losing my mind in this comment section. Mario 64 has like 3x as much jank as SMS, and 99.6% of the game is possible without using the hover nozzle (the only things that aren't are the 4 blue coins on the pillars at the bottom of Noki Bay). I'm convinced that they broke the physics with the port or something, because the movement in SMS is very crisp, compared to something like Galaxy. Honestly, I wonder if part of the issue also comes from the lack of notches in the controller.
@@nothayley I'd played Sunshine as a kid and loved it, and when I played it in this remake it was absolute misery, in large part thanks to the momentum, depth perception, and physics. I heard from a ton of places that the port screwed up in some way, so I dug out my old GameCube, popped in Sunshine, and played for several hours, all the way until Peach gets kidnapped the second time, to test the difference. The result?
They're the exact same. Every problem I had in 3D All-Stars, I had on the GameCube. Every time the game seemed to think I pressed the wrong button on the Joy-Con, it was the same with the GCN Controller. Aside from visuals (and an inverted scheme that I changed seconds into All-Stars), not one thing felt any different between the two.
My conclusion is that I, along with most of the human race, are having a hard time comprehending the fact that we were dumb kids and a game we loved actually isn't well-made.
Now, your brain and reflexes must be wired differently. And I don't mean that in a bad way. Somehow these odd mechanics and bouncy physics where it feels like Mario is about to die with every step he takes just clicks for you, and I'm honestly a bit jealous. But having replayed both 64 and Galaxy (Galaxy on the original Wii even because I wanted the old control scheme) immediately after Sunshine, to me, and seemingly most of the known world, those physics feel far snappier, more responsive, and better connect to the player in every regard. In Galaxy I looked forward to any semi-dufficult platforming challenge I could find. In Sunshine I dreaded if the game wanted you to walk in a straight line.
You working better with Sunshine's engine is great. But for the rest of us, we'll just take what we've been getting with every other 3D Mario title.
@@nothayley (I know it's been 11 months, but I wanted to offer my perspective on this, as a massive Super Mario Sunshine fan.) I love this game in spite of its issues. I think a lot of the reason why I love it so much is because I play it so often. And even though I'm not a speedrunner, I love the game's speedrunning community, which teaches shortcuts, glitches, and strategies to get around some of the more frustrating moments and mechanics. Sunshine is undeniably a deeply flawed game, and its creators admitted that it was extremely rushed and came out at least several crucial months before it was finished/polished. This was not an issue with SM64 or Galaxy. (And I say this as someone who does not enjoy playing SM64 at all; I didn't grow up with it, and I have no love for its controls. But there's a reason outside of nostalgia that people adore it so much more than Sunshine, and I have to admit that it is a much more "complete"-feeling game than Sunshine.)
When you get deeply into Sunshine, to the point of memorizing even the most obscure and random blue coins and being able to manage the controls, it is a lot more enjoyable. But probably 99% of people who play Sunshine have (understandably) not played it enough to navigate around its glaring issues - and most of them are quickly discouraged and exhausted by the fact that those glaring issues, weird physics, strange depth perception, and unforgiving mechanics rear their ugly head VERY EARLY into any playthrough.
Even as someone who loves this game and has beaten it countless times and put more hours into it than any other game, there were a lot of moments when RTGame encountered issues where I knew it wasn't his fault, and where I even knew there was a reasonable chance that even a speedrunning pro could run into the same issues. (This was especially noticeable with the volcano boat and the Pianta Village chuckster level.)
It's fine to love this game. Heck, I adore it. But it is an undeniably incomplete and jank game that doesn't feel good to play unless you're very used to it and forgiving of its issues. These issues persist in both the 3D All-Stars port, and the original (although I would say I prefer playing it on a GameCube controller any day).
Okay, years back I had replayed the game after years without playing it, and I could 100% figure out they made Mario control more awkwardly because of FLUDD. It's so visibly a *design decision* that it's a bit baffling it made it into the final game without someone saying "what do you mean, we're intentionally making the platformer handle worse?!"

This game was my childhood. Granted it gives me an aneurysm whenever I try to go after those damn blue coins and some of the secret shines, but this game will always be a nostalgic masterpiece for me.
The charging controller subplot was probably the hardest i've laughed while watching these
Isaac Newton would have an absolute stroke with seeing Mario's floatiness in this game.
There's something weirdly validating to see someone else feel how much of a nightmare this game is (esp the challenge levels!!!)
As a kid (and even now) everyone loved this game and I despise it (in fairness I loved the aesthetic of it, just hated playing it). I swear the ~calming challenge level music~ activates my fight or flight response every time it shows up in those calming youtube playlists

for the longest time I thought I was terrible at 3D platformers, then I started playing sm64 and loved it, *even on an emulator, playing on a keyboard* it felt better than sunshine
this has to be one of the most chaotic "let's play all of ------!" video yet, what a series of streams to start the year on
(caught a bit of the blue coin searching, which was really rather chill and nice, and i remained completely unaware of the previous insanity that lead us to this point)
Holy shit, I just started replaying this on GC and I legit died 10 times on that first challenge level so kinda relieved it wasn't just me. Just fantastic.

I just love how in Mario Galaxy 2 when one of the secret levels from this game shows up he sounds hopeful and happy, little did he know about the absolute tragedy of a playthrough that would come to be known as super Mario sunshine
The Low Battery arc is my favorite RTGame moment.

I'll note that the Pro controller won't charge if plugged into an unregulated charger because that runs the risk of ruining it. Otherwise it works just fine with any USB-C cable you have.

Interesting thing about the lava boat; when you were spraying from the back, you acted like a rudder, so the direction you spray is the direction you turn since the boat rotated from the center

My favourite part was when RT had to stomp on the tree to anger the bees, which he then had to follow to all the way to Hogwarts on Yoshi while kicking fruits just to meet Von Karma and water the wall next to him to get the blue coin.

Mario Sunshine is a game that makes you realize that kid you had no concept of good or bad game design.
The story sucked, but the music and graphics were just too good, to me it's an 9-9.5 of ten
It still astounds me that Sunshine managed to release in the state that it did. We had Mario 64, a game that completely revolutionized the way we control video games with massive worlds to explore. We went from that to a game where it’s impossible to control Mario and the levels are nothing but a jumbled mess.
At least Galaxy got us back on track, and Odyssey controls like a dream, but Sunshine was borderline unplayable.

@Chandller Burse I beat it once. That’s enough. It _is_ a buggy hard to play mess. I shouldn’t have to wrestle the controls in order to just play the damn game, especially in a collectithon platformer.
This was the first playthrough I watched live on twitch, I thought it was going to be a fun nostalgic experience.
