The fact that this comes with a rebranded Dumbo is one of the best selling points imo. I've switched every one of my vehicles over to Dumbo, and I have never had a single issue. Such a good bang for the buck.
I enjoyed that. I remember when those 'twin vertical plate' chassis were common on crawlers, and people would make an ally ladder frame for theirs, and fit a scale body, often from a terrible New Bright.
@Comfortably numb this is another of Phil's videos that's probably going to "force" me to buy one. I've heard loads of criticism of them, but as far as I can see, for small effort and cash, can be made really good. FTX stuff is reasonably priced and it even looks good. The scale is a bonus. It's definitely calling me.... 😀🤓🤣
I bought the Kanyon V1. I put the angle on the chassis, uprated steering servo to 20kg, moved the battery tray forward 2 inch, put the spare wheel on the bonnet and moved the light bar back to the roof tray (all easy to do) and I can confirm that it really is a very competent crawler and not a lot of money too. I totally recommend the Kanyon.
Tomley, it was through you that I started this hobby. When I was ready to buy my first truck I was expecting to the Kanyon on your reviews but sadly I had to rely on a third party instead. This was my first Decent RC truck and I absolutely love it. Great content as ever.

Thanks for taking us on the Cesspit Safari Mr Tomley. Seems like that dog has the same idea as me when it comes to this truck. Just too much going on that isn't quite there for me. The wobbly/weak body mounts, the winch that cannot lift it's own car weight, the 4wd system doesn't seem the best as it seems a run up is required for most moderate climbs, the steering servo is weak and the body bounces around like a cheap friction damper toy. Looks cool though, I really wanted to like it. I don't dislike it, just to many compromises for me.
Yeah, certainly needs a good going over, a few cheap fixes and I think it will be a little better. Although I didn’t really have any massive issues with it. The winch is enough to pull it out of trouble for the most part
The Kanyon can take a 4ws kit easily, it's really just another set of front end parts bolted onto the back. Also works on the Outlaw as well. Nice video Phil 👍🍺🇬🇧
