But makeup sponges should not be that absorbant, I use several different kinds of beauty sponges and I use them often
Usually switching between different ones based on which one is clean lol, and even the cheap brand real technique, my beauty bakerie sponges, as well as the real beauty blenders, all spread my foundation more than what they absorb,
It shouldn't soak up half the product with a few taps though like in this video
Barely any coverage on her arm after, a good beauty sponge shouldn't do that wet or dry
Just my personal experince using different brands anyway

My mother (don’t talk to her anymore) used to just foundation on with her hands… like moisturiser. Like, pump it into them palms, spread it around kinda deal. Shit was so thick and streaky you could curl it like butter using a knife

I apply with my hands and it looks like SKIN. Moisturizer, primer, spread out with fingers and finish off with a quick sponge dab all over. Magic.

@@hk1tty lol i only use fingers. layer it little by little and it turns out flawless, also wastes less product. also my hands are way easier to make clean before use than a sponge or brush

For me fingers and sponge have similar results. Sponge is easier, but makes lighter coverage. With fingers you have to make sure that you didn't miss any spots, so it's like 5 seconds more, but also more coverage and less wasted product.
I don't use foundation brushes because i hate how it feels against my skin + with my terrible eyesight i won't notice all the streaks

right! as for me I found applying foundation with fingers end up less cakey, and do it with circular motion, when I applied too much product, I spread it to areas that's still not covered

Not really. She did the beauty blender for 3 secs, the brush for 4 secs and the finger for 3 secs. Imo it was pretty fair. 1 sec dosent make any difference.

Beauty blender sponge more better for someone with dry skin. It adds moisture, especially when we use it wet. Brush more better for someone with oily skin. It would feel patchy and so streaky if use brush for dry skin, hard to blend foundation on skin.

I use hands + a face mist. So I most face lightly, then glide foundation on my skin similar to the motion you use with a spatula. Then I tap it to blend. Gives me similar result to sponge but with less wasted product and more coverage.
