Great question! The lights are on for 16 hours and off for 8. Check out this video of setting up my grow room: ruclips.net/video/7H1npBb83t4/видео.html And yep it's insulation, because our basement is unfinished. Once we (one day) finish it, the insulation will be covered. :)
If I’m planting onions in a grow container should I plant them in a circle four inches apart? Have never grown in a grow container before and would really like to plant some onions.
I would still do 4" apart, but instead of rows try a few concentric circles. Depending on the diameter of your container you could probably do 3 or 4 circles. I did mine in grow bags last year. They do well in them!
My family always used onion sets and got great results when there was plenty of cow poo added that year. Never had them go to seed, though as a seed saver I wish at lest some would. Ha ha ha What makes an onion go to seed has more to do with weather conditions and the threat to the onion plant. Wish people would stop spreading this wives tale…
Good to know, I really appreciate you sharing your experience! That's one thing I love about gardening---so many things work differently for different gardeners. I definitely don't believe that there is only way to do things. 😊
Wow! Great tips! I had no idea where the seeds came from would matter, but it totally makes sense! Thanks for mentioning that.
Glad it was helpful!
I am impressed after watching your video good work
Thank you so much!

New subscriber ! Thank you
Hi! Let me know if you ever have any gardening questions! Thanks for the subscribe!
I’d love to see how you set up your seedling area. Is that some kind of insulation on the wall? Also do you leave your grow light on 24/7?
