    Wow. I love how you used the word “protect”. I never thought of it that way. It’s almost a selfish act to dress immodestly as well.

      It is! Didn’t think about that perspective! By dressing immodestly we’re putting our selfish desire to dress that way over the chance to guard others from sin.

    I used to dress revealing when I was in college. It felt nice to get attention in the moment but I soon realized I was attracting the wrong kind of people. I prefer dressing modestly now and it makes me feel so beautiful!

    Great video, thank you for sharing! I have recently been looking into this because I noticed I am not being modest so this is perfect timing! I believe we should also avoid tight/form fitting clothes. And im not saying wear everything baggy lol but at least that it isn't drawing attention to or accentuating specific parts of the body. Its a great practice to ask oneself if what we're wearing glorifies God, we don't want to be drawing attention to ourselves, especially not that kind of attention from men. That being said i have some doubts with the way I see some fellow sisters in gym/workout attire 😳

      I’m glad you enjoyed! And great point! Tight fitting clothes can still be not modest, even if technically everything is “covered”!

    I really appreciate your perspective on modesty and the way you explained why you believe what you believe. I think these are all great points and excellent encouragement for other women walking in Christ!
    Crop tops are awesome for layering! I use them as under shirts or as over shirts for some dresses to make them look more like skirts 😊 Makes my wardrobe more versatile for my style.

    When you mentioned the point about not causing the men to stumble it brought a thought to my mind. If you are dressing provocatively and super flashy its going to catch everyones attention, men and women. So it goes beyond "men should just control themselves" because if you dress in such a revealing way, everyone is going to notice, not just men.

    • @sincerelyceline.
      @sincerelyceline.  8 месяцев назад +5

      Absolutely! And along with not causing men to stumble, we need to think about what example we are setting for the other ladies around us!

      It takes two hands to clap. As much as men wish to control themselves, women also need to do their part by covering up. God designed men to be sexually aroused when a woman dresses in a revealing way but it is not a bad intention. That arousal is part of our evolution which is necessary for sexual intimacy and reproduction to take place. Most men will not be aroused and lust after a woman who covers up. And covering up is a way for women to respect God the creator who made her body to be beautiful. It is also a respect to other men be it strangers or her future spouse. She is preserving her beauty which is to be unwrapped only by her future husband for his enjoyment and that is the desire of God for spouses to enjoy sexual intimacy within their marital union.

    I love to dress modestly. I wasn't always that way I wore revealing clothes in my teens and twenties. But as I got older and matured I didn't want to attract the wrong male attention any more. Modesty is also beautiful and shows grace.

    I really related to this video a lot. I wasn't the type to dress in a way that showed off skin because i didn't like attention but I did wear tight pants/ ripped jeans. I was convicted to dtess modest and to also start veiling. It was honestly been a blessing. I would stress about what my hairstyle and outfit but now i just throw on a skirt and jacket😂 i love modesty and i hope to one day wear the niqab (in a Christian way)

    by the way, i wanted to ask your opinion about makeup. i ve never worn makeup and i believe as christians we shouldnt wear it, but literally everyone around me is wearing it, even girls that are christian, and they also do their nails, hair etc which i dont do. thats why i feel conflicted and dont really know whats considered right or wrong anymore.. what do you think?

    • @chrismaxie2864
      @chrismaxie2864 8 месяцев назад +2

      it all depends on your heart some people receive conviction over makeup or hairstyles others dont what matters is that ur listening to God and what he is wanting from you. In terms of it being a sin it isnt but u must ask urself why do u want to adore urself with such things to attract wrong attention or to honor God?

    • @sincerelyceline.
      @sincerelyceline.  8 месяцев назад +5

      I definitely agree with this comment 👆🏻! I think it comes down to your opinion and if you have a conviction about wearing makeup. I personally do wear makeup but nothing heavy. All I put on is a light eyeshadow color, thin eyeliner, mascara, and a tinted lip balm. I basically just don’t go beyond highlighting my natural features.

    • @priscillawoelke5899
      @priscillawoelke5899 8 месяцев назад +4

      I personally don't think there's anything wrong with wearing makeup... but it all depends on the motives.
      We shouldn't make idols of ourselves and how beautiful we are, but also it's clear that beauty doesn't determine our worth. Using it because you get more attention might be another problem. Also, I think using makeup as a way to cover up insecurities might be a tricky situation, as it says I only have worth when I'm pretty... But using it as a way of creativity and having fun with dressing up isn't necessarily wrong.
      The heart of a problem is the problem of the heart.

      As an artist, I used to love makeup art and was very expressive with using my face as a canvas. As I've gotten older and more mature in my personal walk with God, I've been convicted for "loud" makeup. I was putting on red lipstick one morning before work, and I heard the Holy Spirit say ashtoreth. That lead me into a deep study on ashtoreth and identity, and I came to recognize my natural beauty in Christ and become so much more confident and focused on how God sees me rather than how myself or others perceive me. I trust that He made me perfectly even when I don't feel it. Now I only occasionally wear very subtle makeup that doesn't dramatically change my appearance, like curling my eyelashes, using mascara that matches my hair, a shade of blush that looks like my natural summer skin, and tinted lip balm that mostly just evens out my natural lip color and adds just a little shine. I agree with the comments before mine though that conviction is personal, and one may be convicted for something that another isn't. God knows us better than we do ❤

    hi celine! new suscriber here, i'm slowly introducing myself into religion and it's been a roller-coaster of emotions so far. i've been also thinking about dressing more modest, what are your thoughts then on clothes like t-shirts that reveal a part of your stomach or your belly button? i heard what you said about crop-tops and i think the same. what about tight fitting clothes? i've always felt a bit weird about it, but since all my friends were doing it and girls my age too, i thought i should do as well. would love to hear what you think! xx
    p.s. do you think i should buy a physical bible? i'm currently reading it on my ipad, but i'm sure it's way better on paper :)

    • @sincerelyceline.

      Hi there! That’s amazing! It definitely can feel a like a big change of lifestyle when you first get to know the Lord. Especially in modern times where there’s so many voices that can influence us. I pray that the Lord will continue to highlight pieces of scripture and make himself known to you 🤍
      As far as short tops that reveal the stomach, I personally consider that to be immodest. If you own short tops, you don’t have to get rid of them! To make short tops more modest, layer them on top of a top that covers your stomach or wear them with high waisted pants or skirt to cover the stomach. With tight fitting clothes, I think it’s about balance and coverage. For example, if I wear a pair of tight fitting pants, I’ll wear a loose fitting top that covers the bum area. If I were to wear a tight fitting top (I don’t really wear tight fitting tops often) then I would be sure that it gives good coverage on top and then I’d balance out the tight top with a loose fitting pant or skirt. Hope that helps!
      I would definitely recommend getting a physical Bible! It really is a different experience to read from the physical bible and be able to make highlights in it and take notes. There is power in the physical word of God! Having a digital version is good too though! I personally have both a Bible app on my phone and I also have a physical which I read from daily. I personally read from the app if I’m out and want to look at a verse quickly.

      @@sincerelyceline. thank you so much for your kind words, celine. it’s been complicated so far since i have no friends that are religious and feel like i still don’t know much to go to a church! but i’m getting there, reading and studying everyday. also, thank you for your advice in clothing. balancing out the outfit sounds like a good idea! i can definitely do that.
      is there a version of the bible that you recommend? i was thinking RV1960 since it’s the one i’m reading in my bible app (i think it’s the most accurate spanish translation, and like the KJV, they’re both based on the hebrew mesoretic text).
      xx

      @@snaofidesi Glad I could help at all! But don’t be afraid to start attending church as soon as you’d like to! God doesn’t expect us to know everything or be “perfect” before we start going to church. I understand that it can feel more intimidating if you don’t really have anyone else that would go with you. Hopefully the Lord will bring people in your life that would be an encouragement to your walk with God.
      I’m not really knowledgeable about Spanish translations but for English, I would recommend a translation that you can understand the best. KJV is great but sometimes there are some older English words in there that could confuse you while you read. I personally read the ESV translation everyday but I like to reference the other versions while I study to see the different wording the different translations offer.

      @@snaofidesihello! I am happy you are diving into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. A better choice has never been made!
      As far as attire, we have freedom of choices. Just because we can doesn’t mean we should (1 Corinthians 6:12). However, each should dress according to the personal conviction of the Holy Spirit. Humans look at the outer man but God sees the innermost parts of us. We can cover up on the outside, but if we do not adorn our inner man with the fruits of the Spirit, we have imbalance.
      Absolutely purchase a Bible! I use my Bible app, but I have several different Bibles throughout my home. Love Gods word!

    modesty is not just about the style of clothing but more so about our state of mind. the shows that we watch, the materials that we read.. the thoughts that we think. are they pleasing to the Lord? or is it hindering our walk with Him? we must always remember that a little leaven, leavens the whole lump. 🤍
