    He wasn't dissing Em.
They spoke about a lot about the passion and content he had put out in his career. . Just that more so nowadays he's flexing his technical skills.
But, they didn't put him in the same box as cannabis or king los.
He's put his whole life on tracks.
He's told his whole story now & when he went more content ish on Revival , people didn't like him speaking politics, well a big percentage didn't.. and with everything being so political nowadays, kind of tough not 2 speak on it. ..(Which is kinda funny now, cause ya still got the Em haters from b4, & then after that BET cypher & Revival, had a bunch of new haters, white Trump supporters.. which is funny af cause those are same mfers who love to talk bout Freedom of Speech... until it's speech you don't like. Idc what peeps say, that was putting his $$ where his mouth was. Wasn't like he gained fans from that, he lost fans who worship a politician..
At 25+ yrs in the game how much more content songs can he drop that he already hasn't put out or even motivational/anthem type songs?
He doesn't have anything else to prove.
So, me personally, I'd like to see more og collabs. Like the 1 dropping on Nas album that drops Friday with Nas, Em & EPMD. Eric Sermon with Nas & Em. 🔥 .
I wanna see those collabs with Rakim, 3 stacks, treach, Monch, LL, hell get a Cube & Kurupt collab. Round out some of my all time fav MCs.

You're speaking all facts. Like on that Revival album Em got a song called (Believe) and on one of the verses he says " But how do you keep up the pace and the hunger when you've already won the race" that was a very powerful and profound line right there. He was basically saying he's already accomplished all he need to accomplish in rap so how do he keep up the pace with it or keep topping it

You must not have ever listened to a song from Eminem. For the most part Eminem just doesn't have any bars. He raps about a whole lot of nothing fast as fuck. If he had to be the goat of anything, it would be the rapper who can say nothing the fastest. If he isn't rapping about raping women or something political, it's some other creepy stuff like eating people. Is that the kind of substance you're talking about? It's ironic because Eminem need substances to make decent songs, without them his career just dies off.

This is how i see it , the so called "lyrical mirical " rappers and the street poets do the same thing but with a different form of speech and within a different context..THEY BOTH GOT BARS
    Example :
King los , Mickey , Daylyt use historical facts , antics with few words that we don't use everyday when we communicate in the hood , add it up with conscious and spiritual stories. That's why they call it "lyrical, mirical ", not everyone will listen to them and understand what they're talking about automatically , but their raps is still full of figurative language , bars , schemes, multi-syllables rhymes , wordplay and punchlines etc..
Lloyd Banks, Jada ,Cassidy, Ransom use street stories, on the block , kidnapping people, with the lingo that we use in the hood everyday that's why niggas it's catchy for us and their raps is also full of multi-syllables rhymes, bars , wordplay, punchlines, figurative language, multi-entendres.
So both camps do the same thing , they just do it with a different form of speech and with in a different context (stories).
    Geeks rappers vs Street poet..

My thing is just don't be so lyrical to the point that you're taking away from the main message. If I can't listen to your song one time and take something away from it i.e I received most of what you were trying to tell me, then your song was too out of whack. As a rapper, i can say it's actually easier to make a super lyrical song that is very hard to dissect and understand, than it is to make an equally lyrical song that the average listener could understand. The increase in skill level required comes from having to be direct with your lyrics, and only being allowed to use common concepts and terms rather than obscure shit to fill up your rhymes. Keeping it that simple while still saying mind-blowing shit lyrically is the peak of what rap is all about in my opinion, but everyone can view rap their own way.

It's art, it depends on what you take from it and how it resonates with you. I dig and appreciate lyrical miracle from a creative standpoint....Supreme Clientele is one of my favourite albums and that's pretty much Ghostface taking a bunch of words, throwing them at the paper and then going in recording them where they fell. Still, it's artistic, creative and displays penmanship on another level, because it's more than just what's written, it's how it's presented by the artist/ MC.

I think the bar has been lowered so in the age of mumble rappers DaBaby is one of the few that can actually put lyrics together and flow on a beat in a coherent and cohesive way. Now whether he make the same song over and over again is a different topic but if it ain’t broke don’t fix it I guessss… 😂

The ability to rap is a talent, it's just like anybody can learn the skill of basketball but some people are talented or gifted in basketball. A talent is when you have a natural aptitude or natural skill for something. Some people have a talent for writing so just because anyone can learn how to doing something doesn't mean people can't be talented at it. Nothing in of itself is a talent or skill. Anybody can learn to be skillful but to be talented you have to be born with said talent. Not everybody can be a Langston Hughs, MFDOOM, Prince, etc.
To be gifted in something is similar to being talented however being gifted is really in terms of academic things such are the language arts while being talented is in terms of creative things such as creative writing. Gifted also can reference to high levels of potential whereas talented can also refer to current high level of ability. In the art world talent people have what they call an eye for art. They have an ability to see something that others don't when creating art. For speakers it's called the gift of gab and for writers the ability of honeyed words.

i'm kinda tired of niggas dissing people who put thought into their lyrics. Like nah, you joke on it because you really don't understand what those lyricists are saying. Just say you aren't thinking on a high enough frequency to get it. And they always make it seem like they can do it too if they really wanted to but never do it. Stop the Cannibus disrespect because that nigga was nice, Em is nice, King Los is nice, Doom was nice. Just because these guys reference things in their lyrics that are beyond the corner of your block does not mean they have no meaning behind them. Go out and live life, try new shit, open your mind and then you can start to understand what these lyricists are saying. But nah they rather listen to the same old recycled gun and drug bars. Like nah, anyone can do that which is why there are more of those rappers

That King Los point is extremely valid. That’s why he’s never been able to take off. I remember back in the HotNewHipHop/Datpiff blog era they were pushing him hard. I heard him and thought he was nice, but when it came down to him making a song he just couldn’t.
Lyrical miracle rap is probably my least favorite sub genre because most people who are active in that scene really can’t music to save their life.

I personally love lyrical miracle raps! It shows creativity. It's almost like the mc is making himself out to be a super hero. Which is why the early lyricists didn't go by their real name but a tag name. Because their tag name was their alter ego. If I want something that's only grounded in reality,I can look outside my window. I think rappers who don't like the lyrical miracle rappers don't like it because they can't compete. I guess rakim, the father of modern day rap is a lyrical miracle rapper then. The hyperbole of rap was to show that you wasn't the average man on any level. And plus the so called reality rap is what got these kids going astray. We need more lyrical miracle rappers and not a bunch of fake thugs on the mic leading the culture astray with bullshit while they are getting shake down by the real thugs in their entourage

It’s a rejection of thoughtfulness period.

@@michaeln3044 as far as lyricists, there aren’t really any out right now who are making dope music if we’re being honest. Like as far as being on the same level as a Nas, Jay-Z, Biggie, Scarface, Jadakiss, or even Ludacris none of these dudes trying to “keep hip-hop alive” come that close in quality. These lyrical miracle rappers, especially the ones who came up in the Smack DVD era, are garbage because not only do they pick the worst beats and can’t ride a beat to save their lives, their bars aren’t even that hot. If I had to choose between that and a catchy song that happens to be mumble rap, I’m taking the mumble rap because if I’m gonna listen to someone spit nonsense either way, I at least want it to sound good. The reason why rappers like Nas, Jay, Biggie, Jada, etc are considered all-time greats is because not only did they spit the best bars, they made timeless music. Making a great song is a skill in itself, which is why someone like Snoop Dogg, who isn’t known as a “lyricist”, will always be above someone like Loaded Lux.

Is Canibus really a lyrical miracle guy. He's very witty with the punchlines. Lyrical miracle to me is when it sounds good, but on close listen it's not that witty or well thought about. There's more emphasis on rhyming words intricately. Also something can be both lyrical miracle and the content can really make sense.
