Your video helped me so much with converting the skimmer and sand filter. The JB Weld was awesome. Thanks for taking the time out. We left it up over the winter and it held up beautifully.

I had an intex 14 x 36 ultra frame, lasted 6 years. Never a problem with it, it was unlevel about 2 or so inches, but the sides matched up directly across from each other. Left side water level matched right side water level and back and front matched. I had 8-11 year old kids (sometimes 6 of them at a time) jumping, splashing, diving, cartwheels, front flipping off the ladder into the water, the legs shook, the pool shook, lol, every year i thought "this is the year", but nope. Held up like a champ! Only got rid of it cause the liner was starting to fray and wear down. 6 years!!!!!! I left it up all year even through -45 degree temps and still filled great once summer came. This year we got the summer waves 15x42, we went to put it in the same spot but couldn't cause it was bigger than the old circle and we have a retention hill, would have been alot of work to keep there, plus it was 6 ft from the house. So we moved our trampoline to the other side and put the new pool there, a tiny bit of prep not alot and the deep side is 3 inches more water than the side across from it. I am not worried about. Plus now its 60 ft from the house, so thats my unlevel story. We did just put the 14x42 up 3 days ago and i am sure the ground will also shift, so we will see. I was so worried the first 2 years of my old pool, and now didnt know why i worried so much. It was a great pool. Hopefully we will have great times in this new one. They have already been going crazy in it while its been filling. Lol.

I'm so glad you've had such good luck with it, I've had nothing but bad luck with mine and its level too. Mine has collapsed twice going in not out, skimmer has leaked like a sift since the day I bought it, and the ladder is rusted within a month. I will never buy a walmart pool again and that's the 3rd one I've had.

I put up one of the "blue" versions(18x48) of this pool with the same original filter/skimmer. Ordering Intex 3000gph sand filter (28651EG ) from walmart. When I first put up the pool some of the legs (about 3 on one side and 3 on the opposite side) were located on sand that was used to fill in a low spot in the yard. After initial setup it was out of level maybe 2 inches. After filling overnight 2 of the legs on the low end had sunk into the sand and was at a slight inward angle from the top rail. One had enough pressure on it that the paint had started to crack. I took two 2x4s cut to length with a third as a cross brace on the bottom that a jack would push against. The 2 vertical 2x4s were placed on either side of the leg on the bottom of the "T" bracket. I jacked up each leg and placed 1x6 boards cut roughly into squares as needed to make the pool as close to level as possible without complete disassembly and ground leveling. So far, so good. The boards, having a larger area don't mash into the sand near as easy.

Hi! Are any of your support posts angled in from the top rail? We have a couple that seem to be doing that and I can't straighten them, but the pool is not done filling so the top is still bowed. I'm not sure if it will move outward once it's done filling and the top rail expands - or if it will stay like this.

How much is it unlevel? We are going through hell trying to level the yard. We are tearing ups the grass, got a level and a 2x4, and this pool says u can't use sand under. What do we use then? Lol. We had a gradual slope in our yard. I'm sick of digging and we just started. How long did the Summer Waves last you? Oh I just heard u say that it was about 2 in off.

    • @swamphunt
      @swamphunt 4 года назад +1

you can use sand but dont put the legs on the sand they will sink use some small pavers for the feet if you have to, then get a cheap tarp to put over the sand, it also adds a layer of liner protections from stones burried under the grass, id not let go more than 2 inches out of level. and put your pump on the "deeper end" if ya catch my drift so the suction for the skimmer still works.

I just took mine down 2 weeks ago before it was unlevel and I was so worried.. this week...I paid some landscapers to come level it, they said it's leveled! I was soooo happy..well Tonight I'm filling it, and I see again it's not totally leveled . I'm afraid the front end ( lower end) legs are NOT perfectly straight up and down and will lean a tad again.. I'm so upset. It's like the same thing happening again . But summer will be over here in Illinois soon and if I don't get this pool up and running NOW I never will. How do your legs look at your low end? Do they start to lean in a bit?

kayakinboy1 I just upgraded to a sand filter and hooked it up using a rubber boot from home depot. the rubber boot is 1 and a quarter on one side and one and a half on the other side. I used the old hose that came with the pool on the return to the rubber boot and the new filter hose from filter to rubber boot. works great. tighten with hose clamps, they came with the boot.

I also have the Summer Waves 14'x42" pool (also really unlevel, of course). I'm having a dickens of a time keeping the water clear. Are you using the standard pump that came with your pool? I have ordered a salt and chlorine system set to replace my inadequate pool pump (SFX1000, submerged). I'm wondering if you also have this type of salt system setup and if so, did you have to buy any adapters, or any other equipment to convert this to a salt water system. What would I need to buy. I don't think I'll be purchasing any more Summer Waves brand pool - I've been searching all the internet for this name-brand pool and there's not many out there that tells me a whole lot about this pool and its equipment. Seems this brand uses a different skimmer pump (the hose return is on the side for discharge, rather than the bottom, like Intext etc. pools. Any information will be extremely helpful.

Hello, I am setting up my Unlevel pool now! I had bought a 14x42 BestWay Steel Pro Pool, And right off the Back, I have noticed that as I was setting up the sand underneath It was all unlevel.. My question's are that as you were filling up your pool, did it start off level? Like one side filling up quicker than the other? Mine is doing that, and I just hope and Pray that it does not collapse or anything! I had to put some sand underneath to try my best to level it out, but it doesn't look like I did it correctly. . I wouldn't mind the unlevel look either, but I just hope it holds.. I am so nervous.. Yours looks so great! I think eventually we will upgrade as well, but in the mean time, I'm just a little worried..

this pool is a 14x42 as well. we didnt use any sand under ours, its just on the ground. As it was filling it did fill one side of the bottom first, like you could tell all the water was going to one side. it did get better but still about 2 inches off once filled. Goodluck!

That is great, Thank you for that information! I am relieved now, Thank you. I saw your other video on how to maintain your pool, and I saw that you had a bigger pump, Does yours come with sand filter pump? And I have one last question, Does the filter pumps need to be on everyday, even if we are not using the pool and if the pool is covered with a top tarp? I am very new to this pool set up, and I have two little boys, and I am the only one that maintaining it and making sure everything turns out great! :D Thank you for your reply as well. :)

our sand filter did not come with our pool. i bought it at walmart tho. i never use or top cover so im not sure if you can run the pump while its on or not? We turn our pump on at least 2 hours a day, if its rained or starting to look cloudy ill run it for 4 or a little more hours.

A 2x4 with a 4ft level attached to the outer end from where the pools center will sit worked great for me. My area was 6” out of level and we dug It out and leveled it in one day. Now it’s about 1/4 to 3/4” within level and is hardly noticeable. It was well worth the effort to have a level pool. J/s

Only problems is if the skimmer basket is on the side where the water is lower. If so then the pump will pull in air = burned out pump which is not cheap. And if you already had a pool in the same place for 3 years then installed a new pool in the same spot why not take the hour or two to level the surface. 🤔

You are giving false info about a pool being level. Just because you have been lucky this is not the way a pool should be built.

Nothing false about it. We have had 3 pools. All have been 5 inches un level never a problem. Actually nice a shallow and deep end.

@ty smith really? Cause mine is filling and looks to be about 3 and a half inches off level on one side

I just filling mine and it’s about 3inches off. There won’t be kids splashing around or jumping in it. Mainly myself sunbathing and taking a dip. Hopefully it’ll be fine for 3 months
