Randy Moss is pound-for-pound the greatest athlete to ever play in the NFL, and the most unstoppable in his prime, and that’s coming from a diehard Packers fan.

I really miss watching him play... players like him are once in a generation... so lucky to have been able to watch him.. Watching Randy’s emotion getting the call reminds me of Allen Iverson… both guys were so misunderstood for a good part of their careers but both were ridiculous talents in their sport and both were actually very loving, respectful people deep down. Just hearing Randy say “Thank you Mister Baker”… tells you everything you need to know about the man that he became.

I'll never forget 1998. Randy Moss, in one season, changed the way defenses covered and he changed the game. When you consider some of the QB's (minus Brady of course) throwing it to him and how he produced despite being double and triple teamed on almost every down he played it's amazing. The one time he had a great QB he put up record numbers. No he didn't win a SB, but that isn't on him, he did his job, and he did it better than pretty much any one. The fact that there are only a few WR's people can compare him to says everything you need to know.

  • @drew65sep

I'm lucky enough to have got to watch Randy Moss grow up and follow his career from peewee on to the NFL. No matter the "faults" that have followed him all his life, he's a class act and I consider myself lucky to have watched him. There must be something in the water in the upper Kanawha Valley having produced both Jerry West and Randy Moss. Top shelf.

He made so many 1 hand catches and side line tip toe catches. Man that duo, Carter and Moss was the most entertaining to ever watch.

Although I have great overall respect for Carter, I agree with you. The way he phrased it was more about him getting his due for "trying to make him (Moss) a better person, a better football player." That sounds a bit condescending, as if Moss couldn't have done it without him. Maybe he couldn't have. Maybe Carter and Dennis Green made a life changing difference for Moss. But on Moss' big day, Carter could have said something to the effect that "we all saw his potential as a player and a person and I, personally, worked very hard to help him develop that as a teammate and a friend. It's gratifying to me to see the man Randy has become, especially in the last few years. He's grown a lot." That sounds a lot less egocentric.

It's just like scripture says. The exalted shall be humbled. And the humbled shall be exalted. And because of Randy's humbleness GOD has exalted him before man. God bless you Mr. Moss. The WR's'/TE's will be the toughest category to get in. It will be the same with the DB's. Look at the WR's still on the ballot: Hines Ward, Ike Bruce, Torry Holt are still on the ballot. Look at the names that will start coming up: Tony Gonzalez (2019), Reggie Wayne (2020), Calvin Johnson (2021), Andre Johnson and Steve Smith, Sr. (2022). The interesting names to watch are TE's Tony Gonzalez and Jason Witten . Larry Fitzgerald and TE's Rob Gronkowski, Antonio Gates, and Jimmy Graham five years after they play their last games. You would think they are shoo ins. Remember, this is the NFL . We all thought T.O. and a few others were shoo ins to get in on the first ballot. We all know what happened.

Jerry Rice and Terrel Owens are more athletic and muscular, but Randy Moss is the purest most talented wide receiver I've ever seen. Thanks for the show Randy. BEAST

Randy Moss showed up at the State track meet and won the 100M in a pair of sandals.. (not joking)... Deon was the only person in Florida State history to run the 40 faster than him.. He was also a great High School Basketball player... No one is more athletic than Randy.... They may have been more muscular but not athletic..

James had like 7, 1200+yard seasons... one season he ran for over 1700 yards... dude came onto the scene and exploded his rookie year... 91 touchdowns in his career.

Harry Engel its already been a couple years.
You talk about how great Manning/Wayne/Harrison were, and mention the bad oline (outside of jeff Saturday, one of the reasons they were able to do all that is because of how great of a blocker he (and dallas Clark) were.

favre said it..as a shot at the voters, "numbers don't lie"....Urlacher first ballot but derrick thomas took 10 years...that's a joke..and chris carter ? this idiot just put himself with rice, moss, and swann.......the voters should be former players and coaches not the media....they hold grudges and disrespect the game.....players who hate or hated each other would still vote for each other in out of respect for the game

Randy is the best, I just wish he grew up sooner. He should have retired in purple 💯👍 he still had time in N E but old man Bill thought he was not good in the locker room ? Even though on the field he was awesome.
