Mike is such a sweetheart, praising everyone around him. He is so humble and thoughtful of others, and the way he feels about David is so tangible, a truly beautiful bromance, and we all know how very much he misses him as Mike wears his Bowie heart on his sleeve xx
"Great song but no one will ever sing it as good as Bowie. His vocals range on this song hit the stratoshere." To be fair, there's a big difference between doing a song like this in the studio and on the stage. Try to find a clip of Bowie himself doing this one live...! Laugh
I think having a female vocalist adds another dimension to this song. I think Bowie would have loved it finding something new in an old song is what art is all about!
Love you Mike, everyone, and Holly, all so great together but yes of course the obvious singer is absent which never seems to stop hurting. Miss you still DB.
It's perfect for Bond! I've been listening to this for 30 years and not thought of this obvious fit. Somebody with social media skills needs to promote this idea for a future movie.
Mike is totally lovely - couldn't agree more. Don't think this lady did Lady Grinning Sould justice tho imo .... twas ok but a bit screechy towards the end and a bit ott for my liking. Lady Grinning Soul to me was a sweet, gentle, undulating lovesong, sung with raw emotion and a complex simplicity [whatever that is]. Lady Grinning Soul has been my go to song for every emotion since about 1975 and I just didn't like this version is all. Actually I've just seen another comment praising it as "an amazing interpretation". I guess I'm just not open to any other versions. My bad. Each to their own tho I suppose.
Well, the screechy bit has to do with the cheap and nasty recording equipment used - probably the miniature built-in microphone of an amateur camera that just cannot handle the volume, especially in some parts of the sound spectrum. Of course nobody can sing it like Bowie, but she is very good, and she had worked with him in the past...
@@howardcarlisle3601 yes I don't understand all the praise in the comments people saying it gives them Goosebumps and such. makes you wonder if anyone has actually heard the original Bowie version
Awesome. This was pretty much the highlight of the show for me - one of my favourite Bowie tracks!! Not afraid to say I was choked up!

I cried, hearing this song for the first time live - Mike you are a truly beautiful person.
One of my favorite Bowie song-I miss David’s acid tiny powerful voice ♥️🙏🌟
One of my all-time Bowie favorites in an amazing interpretation. Wow!
Great song but no one will ever sing it as good as Bowie. His vocals range on this song hit the stratoshere.

Absolute highlight of the show, amazing, goosebumps!!
Love Holly Palmer and David Bowie. Beautiful voice.
This is one of my all time favourite Bowie songs, and I can't wait to hear Mike and the band play this at Sydney Opera House at the end of January !
Brilliant...many thanks for posting.xx

Thanks for sharing this.
Yes very moved. Never performed before, and I was blessed enough to be there.
amazing one of the songs of our lives
The singer is killing the song..
That piano. marvelous
This is well done and a favorite of mine
Mike Garson’s career was started by David Bowie but he repaid that by adding so much to his music like this great number.
I think in this song David reached his highest note in his vocal range. It is significant that a woman (only) could deal with this
I was there… loved every minute x
A great song by a great performer!
LOVE IT
just perfect
Outstanding!
Wow. She really brought the Bond Theme out o' that. LOL.
Still Magical
this is great. thank you for sharing. sorry I am in the wrong london
Finally !! Since heard Mr Garson s piano at Bowie by Request eager to hear the song live. But still sad.
Beautiful- Oh that piano!
Why didnt David sing this live? LOVE IT and HIM....
Must do this Every Year!! xx
If you're on Facebook, Mark Garson has a page... ALL David Bowie 😊
THE CHILLS!!!!
PERFECT
Maravilhoso!🇧🇷😍
Bowie's best Bond song. it has never been, though
Would make a great Bond movie theme this version or Bowies version

Exactly!!
superlatives evade me best piano virtuoso I've heard no death but immortality
Here I Come.
What! Been looking for this version for years 😂
💙💙💙💙💙
Great!!!
I l o v e Mike Garson awesome song !!!
C-R-A-Z-Y. Holly Palmer put fear on me as the Lady of the song.
C’mon Mike get it together you’re already a superstar…..
Great
The Anna Calvi version is pretty awesome too, but I really like this one.
Addirittura in playback il finale... e anche stonata parecchio. Aria!
Yes a great event..we all love you..but did anyone take a film crew?..semi pro crew? mobile phone? flashlight?
who is the personnel there live on stage ?
Cold canasta, cold singer.
Mike is totally lovely - couldn't agree more.

OK, but - recording equipment aside - I personally didn't totally like this version is all I was really saying. Sorry and all that ........
Sure, I was just talking about the screechy bit! :)
1:44 you're welcome
Hilda Ogden sang this well, also
better than this woman.
In fact it sounds like DB lic

🙀

Nice but not the thin white duke....😥

ουστ
lovely track ...except for the singing.
I so tried to like it but the singing killed it

@@QUINT34577 I thought the singing was great, Bowie thought she was good enough to sing in his band anyway.
No one phrases a song like Bowie,so hard to replicate.
Holly Palmer's very sultry.
bella ma non brava !
FLOG THAT DEAD HORSE...........
She was dreadful.
Bowie thought she was great.
Don't like this at all...The original can not be touched.
