Can you just imagine C.S Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien and Malcolm Guite huddled in a thick fog of pipe smoke, seated in The Eagle and Child conversing at length about literary matters over malted beer? That would have been a sight

Oh, Malcolm!! Please, please, PLEASE finish and publish this amazing work you began in your younger days!! I am currently a high school English teacher, so your recollections of the rigors of living that particular dream made me feel happy to be in the best of company!! Clearly, God has given this poetic project back to you at precisely this time to finish it for a generation desperately in need of the truth it carries. Love this! I am huge fan of both tetrameters and rhyming couplets. When my son was young, I re-wrote, I won’t quite say translated, Beowulf into ballad stanzas. Strongly metered poetry has received a bad reputation, but as poet Timothy Steele titled one of his books, All The Fun’s In How You Say a Thing.

I never really liked poetry (always found most poetry to be a bit of self-serving and navel-gazing sentimentalism), but starting last year after I read Cinderbiter: Celtic Poems by Martin Shaw & Tony Hoagland my appreciation for poetry was sparkled.
However, nothing whatsoever helps me appreciate and construct my poetic sense more than you, sir. Your sense for beauty and appreciation for the written word and the way you are able to transmit it is very touching to me.
I am also giving my voice to the chorus of people who would like to see this poem finished and published someday, and who also eagerly waits for your Arthurian epic.
I am not very good with words, so I cannot properly put down what I want to say. But at the very least, I would like to give you chears and thank you from a 25 year-old Brazillian woman, so that you know you are appreciated all the world over by people from both genders of all ages and backgrounds.
