0:36 actually, i think they are slightly different circuits. The A side is the “bluesberry” voicing of the hotcake (apparently a bit smoother sounding) and the B side is an average hotcake. I do own this pedal but don’t ever use them on at the same time, it’s one or the other. I might have to now!
@@the-np4mr I have a double. There is no rear switch. The A side is always Bluesberry, and the B side is always normal Hot Cake. I wish it had the XLF switch like the single, though.
Just started watching.. What kind of pickups are in that strat? 😛 Just kidding.. 😛Suhrs I know.. 🙂 That drive rocks! Two is better than one when it's good! Very cool.. Man, that drive and that strat sound awesome sir.. You were getting some killer pinch harmonics too before that Paul Gilbert run! 🙂 Then when you were doing some hybrid picking and then switched to the second one and you were getting that really cool liquid sustain.. Very cool.. By the way. I look for your kitty now every time you do a video to see if he or she is going to make their presence known! 🤣😂 On my second cup of coffee this AM. Coffee is the elixir of life! Please have a great day my friend and thank you for making my life better this AM with great guitar sounds! Tim
These are fabulous pedals I’ve been using for many years. In my opinion, they drive other pedals amazingly well. I’ve got bloody expensive boutique pedals that still sound better with a HC driving them - Jan Ray, Nordvang, and the like
Hi Leon! About 10 years ago I saw one of these lurking in my local Guitar Center’s used section for about $200. I knew what it was, but didn’t bite. Rare as hen’s teeth. I’m going to pick up one of the incredible clones by GUPtech out of Quebec. This is a tone machine! Amazing demo as always! 🤘🏻😎🎸
Dude, I'm buying this pedal as soon as I sell the pedal I bought last week with the money from the pedal I sold the week before. Just hope I can sell this pedal to buy the one that comes out next week. Just sayin
Great video, but the settings/response at 4:26 confuse me. The "no fx" straight amp tone seems to have a fair amount of headroom, then with the Hotcake on with its level maxed it doesn't seem to raise the amp output volume at all? My Hotcake/amp doesn't respond line that at all. Or is the green drive knob lowering that sides output?
Wow. Some of the best drive tones I’ve ever heard.
it's certainly tasty!

Great to know!
Yeah I think the bluesberry just adds diodes, I wonder if there's a switch at the back to toggle that like the regular hotcake has

Oh my goodness! When you engaged both sides! It was dirty/dark but not muddy enough to kill the notes completely.... sounds awesome with the Strat.
Very Cool, Thankyou. Awesome Sounding Pedal and playing. Nice Work. Cheers
When both sides are on, the first HC is bypassed completely so you just get the left side and the extra green drive that cuts some low end.
Ahhh that makes a lot of sense
What pedal would benefit from this form factor? Double SD-1? Double wah?!
Double MT-2 Metal Zone.
SD1 + DS1 in a single pedal... how's THAT for a slice of fried gold?!

I have one of these and I drive my Anarchy Audio Gain of tones with it …. Awesome 🤩
Very nice!
This is the pedal for those folks who want to have their (hot)cake and eat it, too.
The logical extension of this is a "triple stack" hot cake edition :p
That thing could regrow the 'nads on a eunuch👍
🤣
Gnarly tones!
My friend just built me a hot cake. It's pretty great. I had no idea you had an in depth. I know what I'm watching next!
Hope you enjoy it!
@@LeonTodd I ALWAYS enjoy your videos!
I want this pedal.
Great stuff Leon, keep up the good work
Much appreciated!
Leon, have you ever played a Dimarzio Super Distortion? BTW, love the new song! Cheers from Brazil!

Two is better than one
Sounds sick
Sounds awesome What amps and ir are you using Fractal?

It might be too much of a good thing for me, but I still dig it.
great video as usual!
Leon for the drive tones from the amp - are you using the Soldano? thank you. sounds massive with the hot cake!
it's probably my Axe-Fx on the Mesa Mark IV model
@@LeonTodd Oh now i understand from where that massive sound comes from, man the KOT turnout the mark iv to a beast!
What Amp or Amp Sim are you using??
Tasty boost
Thanks a lot 😊
