  • I play a Magic the Gathering Online Legacy league with Turbo Green Sun's Zenith Nadu Combo, a deck from Patreon subscriber KingOfTheDepths. This deck is built around the nonsensical Nadu, Winged Wisdom from Modern Horzions 3 and its interaction with Nomads En-Kor and Bristly Bill. Using Green Sun's Zenith to go fast and find your combo pieces often, this build isn't doing anything else but shoving early and often to shred the deck and win with overwhelming card advantage, huge creatures from Bristly Bill, or Thassa's Oracle. I'm getting Bristly! MTG MH3

    The use of Thassa's Oracle definitely feels like a holdover from more combo-oriented versions of this deck. Without Field of the Dead or Springheart Nantuko, you can't reliably chain through your whole deck, it's just a Bant fair deck with a busted card advantage engine. You win by outdrawing your opponent and punching them with big bristly boys.

    At the end of round 4, I guess maybe the opponent was playing around a counter spell on oppo, if they assumed you were bouncing it to counter it on the way back in, as opposed to bouncing it to try and get the white mana to force your combo through right then.

  • @Mosethyoth
    @Mosethyoth 14 дней назад +2

    Another possible interaction is if you're land screwed to play a Prismatic Ending on your Nadu which simply recycles the spell.
    Another reason why i like Noble Hierarch more than Delighted Halfling. I think it would be worth it to play at least one of each to be able to Zenith for the one the matchup asks more of.

    If you have halfling in play, you should probably not do cavern on wizards, especially in the turn you are going to play nadu. Making Nomads uncounterable I think is much more valuable, as both the wizards are legendary creatures.

    Ponder at 1:08: / bottom to top, tropical island into green suns for dryad arbor makes 4 mana next turn for nadu, but prbly bad because dnt has a lot of removal, good draws would be land or Nomads en-Kor?

    Nadu needed to be balanced better with the lands coming in tapped. I don't see it lasting in Modern, because it's disgustingly strong. I think that we're gonna see a ban somewhere. Legacy is fine, since there are so many answers to the card, but it's a problem still.

    What I don't get and maybe I'm dense, is why all the hoopla about Nadu in legacy. It's basically a one turn slower breakfast so meh. I get Nadu has a better upside but so what, pretty much every card has a higher CC better version, the point is it's slower

    • @noesunyoutuber7680
      @noesunyoutuber7680 14 дней назад +1

      @@Anonymoose-2750 The Breakfast combo pieces do stone nothing when they're not winning the game and the combo is vulnerable to graveyard hate, which is pretty common. Being able to draw your whole deck and Thoracle is really just a backup plan for a lot of Nadu decks, the real value is that it's a decent body with an insane card advantage engine. It's almost always going to replace itself at the bare minimum, and if you can reliably trigger it you'll quickly bury your opponent in resource advantage. Treating it as Cephalid Illusionist but more expensive ignores the much wider utility it has.

    Nadu seems like too much for modern and legacy. It definitely fits better in legacy, but the play patterns are really unfun.

  • @michaelbloom8270
    @michaelbloom8270 14 дней назад +1

    Nadu is insidious. Normally combo pieces are bad on there own, but Nadu is just good in every situation. You go off? You win. You only get a few triggers? That's still great. The fail case is a flying 3/4 that punishes your opponent for targeting it and threatens insurmountable card advantage every turn it's allowed to stay on the board.
    Legacy might be powerful enough to absorb this but the card design is just atrocious.
