GETTING BRISTLY! Legacy Turbo Green Sun's Zenith Nadu Combo. Modern Horizons 3 MTG MH3

- I play a Magic the Gathering Online Legacy league with Turbo Green Sun's Zenith Nadu Combo, a deck from Patreon subscriber KingOfTheDepths. This deck is built around the nonsensical Nadu, Winged Wisdom from Modern Horzions 3 and its interaction with Nomads En-Kor and Bristly Bill. Using Green Sun's Zenith to go fast and find your combo pieces often, this build isn't doing anything else but shoving early and often to shred the deck and win with overwhelming card advantage, huge creatures from Bristly Bill, or Thassa's Oracle. I'm getting Bristly! MTG MH3

Splinter Twin died for this
not in legacy though
Splinter twin tapped so nadu could fly
This is legacy??
Back in my day combo decks had deterministic wins
You're more than welcome to try playing twin in legacy if you want to
Gotta love seeing Dr. William Bristles pop off in legacy. He’s such a house in this deck
Bosh is unhinged this ep and im here for it
At ~32:00 You called bristley Bill William and I thought I was going insane and you were talking to me through the screen
I gotta say, Plow your mom sounds a hell of a lot better than Plow your dog
The use of Thassa's Oracle definitely feels like a holdover from more combo-oriented versions of this deck. Without Field of the Dead or Springheart Nantuko, you can't reliably chain through your whole deck, it's just a Bant fair deck with a busted card advantage engine. You win by outdrawing your opponent and punching them with big bristly boys.
mostly due to MTGO. Paper you can go without it
Who has "Bristly Bill is a playable Legacy card" on their 2024 bingo sheet?
Literally 0%
Not the most imbarassing legacy card but still wasn't expecting it
Not me, that's for sure.
20:43 There is nothing toxic about being objectively correct.
This deck isn't just green, it's Turbo Green.
My favorite part was when he said I'm Naduing it and then he Nadu'd all over his opponent
Round 1 game one, 9:20, gsz for nadu, sacc the old nadu, cast sylvan safekeeper, use her sacc and double target things, along with bristly triggers to keep going
Just to be pedantic, Sylvan Safekeeper is a he with that art, since it's based on Olle Rade (who did have long hair then hence the confusion maybe)
that eldrazi deck felt awesome lol :D
The new eldrazi are awesome
I need that list
First they were plowing our moms, now they're plowing our dogs.
This deck makes you a early 2000 super hero movie villian
Two dryad arbors? In this economy?
At the end of round 4, I guess maybe the opponent was playing around a counter spell on oppo, if they assumed you were bouncing it to counter it on the way back in, as opposed to bouncing it to try and get the white mana to force your combo through right then.
Another possible interaction is if you're land screwed to play a Prismatic Ending on your Nadu which simply recycles the spell.
Another reason why i like Noble Hierarch more than Delighted Halfling. I think it would be worth it to play at least one of each to be able to Zenith for the one the matchup asks more of.
The sound quality sounds much cleaner. I'm not sure what you did but it's noticable, and very nice in my amateur opinion.
I'm surprised not to see a single springheart natuko or scute mob in this. with greensun I think 1 springheart would be really good with a low deckbuilding cost.
Congrats on getting married!
This is the first nadu deck I that looks interesting to me. Good stuff bosh
everytime Brian says william all I can think of isthe final joust in a knights tale.
If you have halfling in play, you should probably not do cavern on wizards, especially in the turn you are going to play nadu. Making Nomads uncounterable I think is much more valuable, as both the wizards are legendary creatures.
Safekeeper is a wizard too but I agree with you
@@zanewarner8372 Very true, but if you are playing only one, chances are, you are only going to play it through Wave.
Ponder at 1:08: / bottom to top, tropical island into green suns for dryad arbor makes 4 mana next turn for nadu, but prbly bad because dnt has a lot of removal, good draws would be land or Nomads en-Kor?
I think commenting helps alot with the algorithmus + im tryng to learn and find my favorite deck to buy in real life.
Keep it goin
Don't invest in this one, I think. Nadu is 100% getting banned in Modern and I wouldn't be shocked to see it get banned in Legacy after Rescaminator is dealt with
I love cards like nadu. I know everyone hates it but these decks are great.
I love Nadu, so unfair. was expecting for nadu content. Oh yeah!
Maybe you talk about this in the wrap up, but did you consider swapping out a land for Field of the Dead?
R1g1 you seem to ignore safekeeper nadu synergy (2 gsz) in hand. With 4 lands in play safekeeper may very well go off.
I recorded this early on in Nadu’s life and had not studied the “Nadu loops” google doc yet.
Does Ross have a twitter? Someone get a hold of him, he owes Brian a Moc Jet :>
The intro was updated ❤
BRISTLY BILL!
Ross has been real quiet since this dropped.
bosh pack baby talk about rolling one up this leagues gonna be a smooth one smoke em if you got em
hell yeah shout outs to the homie Roland Chang!!!
Am i crazy for wanting play this as bant alluren or might that work
Nadu needed to be balanced better with the lands coming in tapped. I don't see it lasting in Modern, because it's disgustingly strong. I think that we're gonna see a ban somewhere. Legacy is fine, since there are so many answers to the card, but it's a problem still.
What's your take on Wizards refusal to ban Grief for legacy?
Check out The Eternal Glory podcast for literal hours of my opinions on that topic. :)
Goodnight bosh gang!
46:52 a broken simic card in a bant deck
What is that killer opening music? Is it part of a longer song?
Shazam
The song is called Thor's Hammer, it's a piece of RUclips library music.
Nomads En-Kor + Nadu --> more like Nomads Encore amirite
If this was a paper deck, would you play Pre-War Formalwear in it?
Not in a build like this. I would in a midrange-control build with Stoneforge mystic. I have some lists like that on my moxfield.
Bosh bird smoke em if you nadu
49:19 could it be worth it to counter ephemerate to 'kill' grief? you probably loose both cards anyway...
+ force alone isnt that good either
but thinking about it, having uro in the grave is probably worth it
For future builds of Nadu, you should try finally of devastation instead of thesis oracle. its a win cone as well as a tuter. takea book out of green CEDH decks.
Did WotC forget about Eldrazi Winter?
1:02:30 he didn't have 3 Mana visible.
Horsehockey!
Whos gonna @ ross?
Pay up Ross! 😂
*picks up bosh pack*
RIIIIIIIIIIIPPP
Awww yeah that’s it baby
Someone @Ross

What I don't get and maybe I'm dense, is why all the hoopla about Nadu in legacy. It's basically a one turn slower breakfast so meh. I get Nadu has a better upside but so what, pretty much every card has a higher CC better version, the point is it's slower
@@Anonymoose-2750 The Breakfast combo pieces do stone nothing when they're not winning the game and the combo is vulnerable to graveyard hate, which is pretty common. Being able to draw your whole deck and Thoracle is really just a backup plan for a lot of Nadu decks, the real value is that it's a decent body with an insane card advantage engine. It's almost always going to replace itself at the bare minimum, and if you can reliably trigger it you'll quickly bury your opponent in resource advantage. Treating it as Cephalid Illusionist but more expensive ignores the much wider utility it has.
47 seconds ago is crazy
only 17 views in 1 minute. Bosh is no longer rolling ;-; \s
Nadu seems like too much for modern and legacy. It definitely fits better in legacy, but the play patterns are really unfun.
Nadu is insidious. Normally combo pieces are bad on there own, but Nadu is just good in every situation. You go off? You win. You only get a few triggers? That's still great. The fail case is a flying 3/4 that punishes your opponent for targeting it and threatens insurmountable card advantage every turn it's allowed to stay on the board.
Legacy might be powerful enough to absorb this but the card design is just atrocious.
Here is a comment!
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say this is not fun magic, play pattern is just you win because you have one of the most pushed cards ever printed
What cards in this deck are even illegal in modern? Is it just brainstorm, ponder, force, nomads and dual lands? Nuts to me that basically a modern deck can do this well
Okay but you listed half the deck, lol
(And still missed GSZ and Plow)
Nadu is about to get banned in Modern so you answered your own question
Nadu may be fun to play with, but its terrible and unfun to play against and watch
this and rescaminator are so fucking stupid like it just doent stop
