Thanks for the video! Did you get approved as ANH Vader by making those mods to the chest armor?

For the shoulder armor did you just paint it over the original paint or did you sand it? Also did you spray paint the gray or use a paint brush?

I sanded and then prepped for paint. I sprayed the grey, then lightly dry brushed black over the top to give it that weathered look.

Which Rubie costume did you buy?

Unsure how you did it for under 1k. The rubies is at least 500, the cape set with tunic as well, and KJB is ultra high end. The helmet was 250 plus tax plus possibly shipping. The boots are 50 minimum. The rubies shins are not approvable (wrong size). The chest box and belt boxes are the wrong size and have the wrong knobs and wrong mesh, so I'm not sure why they were approved even with mods. You need a lightsaber, even if it's a belt hanger, and that's at least $75 (used MR). Don't get me wrong, you did a great job and congrats on approval. I just don't see how so many rubies parts got through and I don't see how this was under 1k, even if you're using the rubies bodysuit. The cod would probably pass for basic approval, though it isn't an accurate ANH cod. Can you elaborate? I was not approved when.trying to do what you did. Perhaps you passed over a year ago? Thanks!

Thanks for commenting. As I stated in the video I purchased the rubies costume used. I promise you I only have $750.00 in my costume.

@@kckenobi6352, that's awesome! I got my Rubies for $500 new and used the chest armor, cape and tunic for my ROTS approved Vader. They denied my use of the chest box, belt boxes, and shins. I could have used the bodysuit, which I modified almost the same way you did, and the buckle, but with the need to purchase the other parts I just went ahead and got the buckle. I painted all my parts except my helmet, which I had to buy because the Rubies/eFX/other are all ANH/RotJ/ESB and I couldn't use them. Here's mine. The cape, tunic, and shoulder armor are modified Rubies. The helmet, belt, boxes, buckle, and shins are Portumac. The boots are Funtasma. The gloves, cod, and bodysuit are Fenix leather. I have about $2,300 into it, which I thought was a bargain. LOL. You have me thinking about making ANH with my spare parts. If I can get a helmet from eFX I might just do it.
