I remember watching the show back in 95 when EJ died and the came back from the break for the last segment. Doug lost a father figure in EJ and it showed at the end. I still get goose bumps from the footage at the VIC v SA game and the lap of honour around the G.

For all the cheap shots from people over the years about the show they raised money for different appeals and charities and gave away many Nissan Navara utes ...I miss the boys and the main Man Sam...The show would not work in 2022 because of political correctness unfortunately....But as I have always said..That's why TVs have On /Off buttons... Thanks Boys for great memories.

Found the NRL one dull , a different kind of humour, might be the Sydney influence. The AFL version was far more laid back, and the humour was way more, well .. normal.

My father, a die hard Carlton fan, saw it as sacrilege. *2.* Dermie invading Molly Meldrum's house the week after he came onto the show drunk. Same episode when Sam dressed up as and mocked Tony Libratorie. *1.* Jack Dyer and his story on when he thought he killed another player.
The death of The Footy Show started as soon as the Garry & Billy love triangle feud began and Garry left the show. All downhill since that moment and look at the show now, an abomination. So sad. I loved The Footy Show.
