How to Do Split Lettering in Cricut Design Space || Step by Step Tutorial

- Hey there ~ a step by step tutorial of how I do split lettering for an initial.
***UPDATE 2/9/17 - After I filmed the video I would NOT recommend to use the EASTON font in Cricut Design Space but a more chunky font so it will release from your vinyl easier.
Thank you so much for stopping by to watch. I share crafty ideas with a bit of country charm.

I am super excited about this video. I'm new to the cricut. And I'm so excited about the different things you could do with this cricut maker.
That's awesome Shelia. I have just a few videos on the cricut but there are SO many talented creators who specialize in Cricut "how-tos". Good luck and I know you will created beautiful things. 🤩 xo! 😘💕

Thanks for remembering some of us haven't done this before and telling all that you were doing. Some just ramble on and we don't "see" what the cursor is doing. Great tutorial..now it doesn't seem so tough to do.
Hi Jenni - thanks for letting me know this tutorial was helpful! :) One tip - all of us were new users at one time or another so trial and error is going to happen. Just hang in there breathe through the frustration and remember that you will get it. xoxo!
Brilliant tutorial. So clear. I did it step by step with you. Im a beginner and havent used it yet as it all seemed too confusing.
The only problem i have at the moment is that i chose a swirly letter and it sliced in a strange way. I would like to see the next step; the cutting and placing on an object.
Many thanks and i hope i can find more of your tutorials.
Wow. This was great and soooo easy to follow
Glad it helped!
Love the video thank you never knew you could do that! Can't wait for more to learn

Thank you so much for the video. It was really helpful and understandable!!!
Hi Tracy! Great video! Very helpful and informative! I've received a Cricut air/2 for Christmas so I'm still learning the basics. Could you possibly do a video showing the different types of vinyl and how they're cut?? This seems to be so confusing to many, as I've noticed in a couple of the Facebook cricut groups I'm in. Thanks so much and happy crafting!! 🙂
Thanks, you are great at tutorials, I appreciate the time put in to make these to help others. :)
Thank you! xo!

Excellent tutorial video. Thank you!!
The video was the best. So easy to understand thanks
Thank You just learning
I don't know the difference between weld & attach. I am wondering why you didn't weld it at the end instead of attaching it? Love the way you explain how things work.
you make it perfect for us beginners
Love your teaching
Vera Roethler I agree
Great tutorial Tracy, so clear, easy to understand, thank you so much! I just bought my cricut and starting to learn this. I am curious to know : when working with letters, can I ungroup them in order to change them in different colors one from the other?
Thank you for such an informative video!
Tx so much Tracy! Got it! Welded!!😀😀😀😀
You make a perfect split lettering in circuit design space
Awesome, Thank you
Really helpful thank you so much!
This was great! Thanks.
Excellent instructions - thank you!
I thought this tutorial was awesome. How would I insert an image instead of the lettering between the slices?
Hi love your tutorial very easy to follow. But I’m having problems when I need to slice everything come up weld, attach, flatten but slice stay gray. Do you think I’m doing something wrong? I’m following you step by step. Thank in advance.
I just Subscribed , you're a good teacher
Thank you! I appreciate you being here!
Great Tutorial!
Thanks for the tutorial. ~Brenda~
That was a good lesson, thanks

thank you sooooo much
Thank You Tracy For Tutorial! My Daughter Got Me A Cricut For Christmas So This Is All New To Me . I'm Learning. TFS
Thank You So Much Tracy! And Yes I'm Following Her Channel Also, Thanks Again.
Love your videos very helpful! I have been playing around with my Cricut all week. I saw something I would love to recreate. Is there a way to slice without cutting through my text? Not sure if that makes sense... I just want the line really but keep the text there. Thank you in advance 🙂
What's the difference between attach and weld when you go to the cutting step?😊
Does the same principle apply to an image? Say a solid black silhouette image of a dog in my case? This is the easiest video Ive seen, thank you.
Can you use monogram letters to add text to a card stock? Thanks, Debbie
Thank you for this wonderful video it helps so much I do have just one question do you suggest we use the template for a goblet if we are doing a wine glass or just size it to what we need instead I am very new to all of this!
Hi Kimber - I have not tried the template for a goblet but it would be helpful. Also, remember all of us were new users at one time or another. I can not stress enough that trial and error is going to happen with any project. Just hang in there, breathe through the frustration and remember that you will get it. I promise! xoxo!
i got the part of making the spilt letter but how do you do a iron on with it
Hi Tracy,
Very good tutorial my friend
Hugs, Stacy
It turned the line back into a square and welded it
Why do you attach at the end and not weld? What is the difference can you tell me?
Thank you!
