Maintenance on the line means a slow day at the High Bridge! I guess timing is everything sometimes!

- Well, somedays you get the goose, other days you get the feathers. On Wednesday, @JawTooth @AdventureswithJoeyBoats and I went to the Kentucky High Bridge on the NS Rathole near Wilmore, Kentucky.
We found out real quick it was not going to be a good day when we saw 3 maintenance of way machines going across the bridge as you can see in the first 3 video segments of this video. They had one line shut down all day and that really killed the action on the line for sure.
We did manage to get a few trains. I missed one completely because I was n the wrong side of the bridge when the train came, and you could not even see it from the vantage point I had. The trees and other plants really complicated things with all their leaves, so we now know that this will be an early Spring /late Fall trip in the future for that reason.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy what little action I got in this video. I was really expecting a whole lot more!
Thanks for watching!
You certainly picked a good vantage point. Most enjoyable video seeing the locomotives on that huge bridge. UK 21c sunny. Many thanks.
Thanks Robina! I hope you have a wonderful weekend! 😁
Any train is a good day. Great video
Thanks Steve! Have a great weekend! 😁
@@1960gambit to you as well
Thanks for the excellent video today. Not too many trains, but still enough to scare th bejeebers out of me!! 😮😮😮 Unfortunately, bridges are one of my phobias. It's still so cool 😎 to see a train crossing it. It goes to show how massive that bridge really is! Thanks again, Scott. I hope you have a safe, fun, and successful weekend whatever you undertake. 😃😃😃😃😃❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks Gary! Have a great weekend! 😁
@@1960gambit I'm going to try. Thank you, Scott. 🙂🙂
Hey Scott, good to see you guys at high bridge again! This place reminds me of the railroad bridge over in Speers, PA.
Thanks! It was a very slow day, but I got video from Wilmore and Sadieville to post yet. 😁
Good made video, mr 1960gambit.
Yes sometimes you meet this. Maintenance on the railway. But no a lot of trains there earlier seen on a video of Jaw Tooth your there on a nice place in the green and the hughe bridge and when you later comeback.....trains all around there. Thx for this topvideo 🚆🚆👍💪💪👍👌🚆.
Greet from Zandvoort the Netherlands.
Thanks Roelof! Yes you definitely need track maintenance or bad things can happen. Have a great weekend! 😁
Awesome video. That's a great place
Thanks Rick! Have a great weekend my friend! 😁
That truck looks like it could be a Hot Wheels or Matchbox vehicle. That bridge scares me! 😮 😀😀
It's a biggun! 😅
@@1960gambit It sure is!! 🙄🙄
Great video, Scott. My catch morning, 2 days behind, But I will catch you today. Have a great Sunday, Scott.
Thanks! You too!
Guy with diggers like “ don’t look down and hurry up “ yikes great day thx sir
I bet it tightens up their butt cheeks going across that thing! 😂
Well Scott, short and sweet but anyway, it was still a great video my friend and you right It seems like every time y’all go there y’all don’t catch many trains and anywhere else y’all go on the rat hole y’all catch a bunch of trains so go figure but anyway, my friend another awesome video and as always you stay safe out there and watch your back and we’ll see you on the next one
Jaw Tooth and I will be getting a bunch on the Rathole in Chattanooga the week after next. We are going to be there 4 days!
Such a majestic bridge! Beautiful scenery and fantastic footage Scott!
🚂🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃💯👍🇺🇸
Thanks Jim! I figure we will go back down in the Fall when the leaves are changing. That should look really cool!
Not bad action for track work going on. Enjoyed it much, thanks Scott!
Thanks P! I was hoping for more, but it was not in the cards Wednesday! 😬
Hope the MOW workers have a head for heights Scott! Their vehicles looked tiny up there, even the trains look small. Great vantage point from the park. Hope everyone enjoying the trip to KY! ❤😊👍
I don't think I could work on that bridge. I'm not much for heights at all. We had a great time in Kentucky! 😁
At least with the track crwws out, the engineers have to blow the horn so you get horn salutes. The other day, I missed 2 trains in 5 minutes. Some days you are the pigeon, some days you are the statue. Glad you stuck around! This is a great location!
Thanks so much! 😁
I enjoyed the alternate view (from below the bridge). I got to see more of this amazing structure. Can't imagine what it was like to build this so many years ago!
Glad you enjoyed it. I have often wondered how they built this bridge myself. It had to be something to see!
i swear Scott as big as trains are they look like N scale models there that girder section must be 50 foot tall!!! you know it;s been funny as hell to have a train following that digger like it was chasing it!!
I always say they look like N scale trains on a G scale bridge!
@@1960gambit i';d say more G scale on an O gauge layout!
Long gondola train on the high bridge. Great view. I saw you and Joey Boats on JT’s video. Auto racks were quite a sight on the bridge, long train. Then the coil train. Hard to see that one. Love the banjo. Thanks Scott. ❤
You're welcome Margie! Have a great weekend! 😁
Has there ever been a derailment or other type of train wreck on this bridge, Scott? 🙂🙂
I honestly don't know. There might be something on Google if there was.
@@1960gambit 👍👍
Sorry about the slow day Scott....I got big news....my cousin gave birth to a 9 lb healthy baby boy....baby good mom not doing so good
Oh wow! I sure hope she gets better! Childbirth can be a very tricky thing at times. Praying for her! 🙏🙏🙏
@@1960gambit thank you so much Scott she had him Tuesday and she's still in the hospital as of now I'm praying too🙏🙏
Did you ever film the big Ohio River steel Bridge at Portsmouth...
No, I have not, but it`s on my list. Going to get the Tenn Bridge in Chattanooga next week!
