Part of the enigma of this guy (I don’t know if enigma is the right word here) is that he keeps evolving but he has always been the exact same dude. It’s very inspiring. I always equate people talking about wanting the old Kanye back to the same people who just like old school hip hop. The whole point of hip hop as a genre from the beginning was to be the new thing. I was homeless at one point 3 months before graduation & I couldn’t have gotten through it without this song and the entire college drop out album. Different but same circumstances, but I felt I could relate to the struggles he mentioned in this song and that shit helped me push through and now we done made it! To all of those in the struggle in High school and college classes of 2021 and beyond, GET THAT SHIT, you already got the blueprint, all you gotta do is want and manifest that shit. I promise there’s a light at the end of the tunnel whether you’re at the entrance, middle or close to the end. Its the last song off college dropout and for good reason… Kanye ends his freshman album off with a ballad of victory documenting all the bullshit he had to put up with to get to the point he did.
