Hey thanks Peter the wheel came first they say but Skyhooks made Australian music first and we'll the rest is history they tried to follow . Cheers for these great memories and let the music say it all . Thanks mate
Yes the recordings came from our original Umatic. We used a few of the songs in the live section for the Skyhooks official DVD that came out a few years back. From memory I've put 3 of the live songs up here- 70's, Revolution/Hey whats the matter. There were only 3 (or 4?) filmed.
Ah, that’s such a shame... Still, if only the original master tapes still existed... So many great performances have been lost because of arrogance, people wiping/destroying precious recordings...
Whatever happened to the revolution We all got stoned and it drifted away Whatever happened to the revolution I think it died just yesterday Whatever happened to the revolution We all got stoned and it drifted away Whatever happened to the revolution I think it died just yesterday I think it died just yesterday Well I remember back in Nineteen Seventy The army wanted you and the army wanted me There was a war goin' on we were out in the streets Wearin' our badges and stampin' our feet There's a hundred thousand people all on my side We didn't care if we lived or died Hundred thousand people going to make it come Hundred thousand people had the man on the run *Whatever happened to the revolution (8 times) Everybody thought we could win with a vote So the band went home without playin' a note We forgot about that war but it still went on I'm alright Jack see you round so long I'm alright Jack see you round so long And now today everyone's a bit older We're gettin' richer but we're gettin' colder We're lookin' for somethin' that just ain't there And it don't mean nothin' to have long hair So when you're ready to make a stand Open your mouth and raise your hand When you're sick of your parties and sick of your sweets Get off your arses I'll see you out in the streets
dreadful! what a poor state Australian music was in back in 73-74 when this was 'cutting edge'. I mean Red Symons is playing a Les Paul Custom through a Marshall stack and he manages to make it sound like a Tele through a bedroom amp! its pitiful. good thing AC/DC came along. good thing Split Enz came along. good thing Midnight Oil came along and REALLY showed Australia some proper music. this is cringeworthy.
Coldacre, the only thing that's pitiful is you. this is a great version of a song about an important event in our social history. nonody gives a fuck about guitar amp sounds except extremely dim types like you.
45 years ago the album Living in the 70s was released. Listening to the album today. Still just as good.
My Assie pen friend introduced me to this band and also to The Little River Band :)
Yes, I was there that day. About a dozen rows of people back from Red.

all band in a world !!!
Ahh Aussie greats can't beat em🤟💓💯
and such a young band when this was filmed, only months away from being massive. 6 months at #1 - incredible really.
@@petergreen2534 my name is luke pleased to meet you.
Wow, this is rare. How many ‘Polaroid In Concert’ recordings still exist, I wonder?
Thanks mate!👍👍👍👍👍

Cool! Did you record the entire thing? I heard AC/DC did a performance too... I’d really like to see that, but it’s unlikely however.
@@BeAGoodDoga no just part of our archives. I'm fairly certain the AC/DC has been lost forever , many have tried to track it down.

Whatever happened to the revolution
We all got stoned and it drifted away

I think it died just yesterday

I think it died just yesterday

Well I remember back in Nineteen Seventy
The army wanted you and the army wanted me
There was a war goin' on we were out in the streets
Wearin' our badges and stampin' our feet
There's a hundred thousand people all on my side
We didn't care if we lived or died
Hundred thousand people going to make it come
Hundred thousand people had the man on the run
*Whatever happened to the revolution (8 times)
Everybody thought we could win with a vote
So the band went home without playin' a note
We forgot about that war but it still went on
I'm alright Jack see you round so long
I'm alright Jack see you round so long
And now today everyone's a bit older
We're gettin' richer but we're gettin' colder
We're lookin' for somethin' that just ain't there
And it don't mean nothin' to have long hair
So when you're ready to make a stand
Open your mouth and raise your hand
When you're sick of your parties and sick of your sweets
Get off your arses I'll see you out in the streets
Amaxzing
Yes. Whatever happened?
Shirl really was gorgeous. F**k that chopper
As you all know what Graeme Strachan is still alive and is possibly living in Whitlesea to this day

+hirdy6 yay!
+Coldacre comments like that demonstrate what happened to the revolution
