just ordered my first golden lever! after quitting competitive counter strike (played 6 years) i made the switch to tekken 7 in 2022 and instantly got an arcade stick. ever since i love arcade sticks and korean levers, enjoying the ISTMALL SB (green arcade clone) which is really uncommon to use due to the specs nowadays, especially in germany where 90% of the player base uses pad or hitbox. i love to deep dive into korean arcade history/lore! cant wait for my golden lever to arrive! thanks for the awesome video to get me hyped while am waiting... much love from germany!
This is Philanthrofist - you should get a mousepad for when you want to manipulate the sticks in your videos so they don't wobble around on the glass - otherwise, been digging the vids.
Thank you so much for the support and the advice! I will do that! I do have some extra large video gaming mats as well as board gaming mats, so that actually can be some awesome added theming ^_^ Fantastic idea, and again, I really, really, really appreciate the support! I also really appreciate and have made use of the parts you sold me earlier this year 💕
Thanks so much for the support! For VF, for this, for Twitter, for everything! I should make it very clear that I am just a fan and fellow hobbyist. I am learning as I go. But I am also sharing mostly my opinion and observations, but there is so much more to learn and better understand. On my media, I’m letting others see a perspective of my journey and trying to enjoy everything with my peers. This hobby is really exciting and while there are very objective aspects in the science and engineering, there is a lot of subjective aspects like anatomy, medical condition, physical condition, personal preferences, game choice, and what players are trying to accomplish with arcade parts. It makes the hobby as exciting as any other hobby-with lots of awesome experiences, but also lots of crazy (and fun) opinions! But I hope that others are enjoying this hobby like I am, because it’s just fun as hell and the satisfaction is pretty immediate!!! 💕

Thanks for your support, notjoeyg! I want to thank you for your enthusiasm to build and your comment because it also got me thinking about an awesome point about this hobby! Right now, we are probably in the best time for building arcade sticks, it’s so fun and parts are more accessible and it is actually easier and even less expensive than most other mechanical hobbies! Furthermore, to build you mainly need the desire to build! And so it’s awesome that you have the desire to build, this hobby is so fun! Many in the hobby come in with a pre-existing bias for performance and that can color our outlook on things a little much. There are so many wonderful reasons to build arcade sticks (most important one is that it is fun!) and we have a lot of artists, tuners, mechanics, curious thinkers, and people of all kinds in this hobby. And yes, we have players of all types too. Having said that, I hope to see your build when you are happy and ready to share it with everyone! More power to you, my friend! 🙏 💕

@@notjoeyg666 thank you for sharing the enthusiasm 🙏🏼 I am a fan of the Noir Layout 🙏🏼 The Brook Universal Fight Board is especially great if you want to use your arcade controller with Xbox platforms. If you don’t mind not having Xbox functionality (or if you’re okay using an extra adapter for Xbox), the Brook Zero Pi board is really good and at like around 30% of the price. You get a fast board that works on PC/PS4/Switch. PS5 could be a problem though (I need to double check that again). Cheers! And keep me updated!
I was looking through tackleboxes and fell in love with this model. They are not cheap but they are amazing and display the tops nicely while protecting them from moisture and impact.
Do you have a site for buying from you ? Would like to purchase a golden lever wanted to try it out on street fighter 5 getting ready for SF 6 I also play Tekken 7 so I can also use it on there
Does the Golden Lever handle spin when using it or is it stationary? If it does spin, can that change for it to be able to stay still? Hope that makes sense
The Golden Lever generally doesn’t spin freely, but you can rotate the shaft. However, you can make it harder or easier to rotate by changing the tension of the spring used in the shaft assembly. This might be counterintuitive but spring tension and whether or not you include a rubber o-ring between spring and bobbin (core) affects shaft spin resistance 🙏🏼 The Handle also does not wobble because of how well the shaft fits through the grommet and this spring setup 🙏🏼
One last question @chanchai if you can answer this for me regarding the VS1R. If you do get the extra 24mm buttons and jump/thumb button around the original 8, how did you program those to what you want? Was it through software or in game settings?
They are all awesome but you can customize Golden Levers to play how you like. If you are asking about the Golden Fanta Stick, it is excellent for Tekken. I might advise getting a Fanta Stick because it has some exclusive parts and you can still replace parts to customize it. A lot of people really love its exclusive grommet. At the end of the day, the perfect lever is up to the player’s preferences, physiology, and technique. The idea of the Golden Lever is that it gives you the best chance to build towards your ideal lever.
That’s a good question, but a hard one to answer because it is up to the listing and the seller. If I’m shopping on ebay, I try to look at the seller’s reputation, which is only a clue at best, but it is information that can help. Regarding Golden Lever products, I try to determine if the photo is the actual item being sold (instead of a stock image) and if the description makes sense. Still have to use a lot of judgment on ebay but these help. Finally… on Golden Lever products, I do prefer to get the items made in the last 2-3 years so here are sone things to look for: - on the handles, is the threading metal? You want metal threading. Earliest builds did not have them. - on the mounting plate, the screw holes should be countersunk on top. Earliest builds were not countersunk. - if you can trust the photos, look for any wear and tear on the shaft. - ask the buyer if you can see images of both sides of the grommets to make sure they are in fine working order with no tears or breaks. The above is stuff you should check for in general for many Korean style levers when used. A lot of Korean levers can be worn dien by extreme heavy use. Especially Fanta levers where a heavily used one can be more wobbly than normal. I have not run into this with golden lever but I have bought first year parts used and they are great but I prefer recent year parts 🙏🏼 I may eventually do a video about this topic, inspired by your inquiry!
