To my fellow Filipinos, please know the difference between languages and dialects that we have. The three that he mentioned in his song are all Filipino languages or the people who speak the said language. (We have 100+ languages and dialects in our country, PH)

@@cherrylynavestruz7674 "Because Filipino is the main language of the Philippines, does this mean that what we usually hear in provinces, such as Cebuano, Hiligaynon, Waray, Ilocano, and Chavacano, are considered dialects? Among linguists, the distinction between languages and dialects remains a point for debate.
The University of California, San Diego, claims that there is no such thing as a dialect from a linguistic perspective. It explains that variations of languages can be spread out geographically by isoglosses, which are boundary lines between places or regions that have different linguistic features. It further explains that it is wrong to assume “that a uniform standard language fragments into dialects.”
Castilian is a prime example. It was derived from a variant spoken in Burgos, Spain, which was then transferred to Toledo then Madrid for political reasons. Thus, it refutes the theory that languages take precedence over dialects. There are also cases where language variants possess the same features with more than one standard language.
Other linguists, however, acknowledge that there are dialects, albeit the distinction being indefinite. The difference between the two is also seen as affected by political and social conditions. In fact, the Economist notes that languages are seen as the “prestigious, official, and written” kind while dialects are “mostly spoken, unofficial, and looked down upon.” Moreover, “mutual comprehensibility” is also a factor in distinguishing a language from a dialect. If two speakers from related kinds of speech can carry out a conversation with understanding, they speak of dialects from a single language. On the other hand, if comprehension is next to impossible, they speak of two distinct languages.
Taking Cebuano as an example following the logic above, we can consider it a language and not a dialect as it is unintelligible to a Filipino, Ilocano, or a Hiligaynon speaker. On the other hand, the people from Cebu, Bohol, and Davao-although they speak Cebuano-may not understand each other all the time as there are variations in their terms and even with pronunciation. For example, “house” in Cebu Cebuano translates to “balay” while Bohol Cebuano (or Boholano) is termed “bay.” In this case, we can say that these places speak a dialect of Cebuano.
Ultimately, as The Language Journal puts it, “language identifies a country while dialect recognizes locality.”

Lapu was the cousin of Lapu-lapu the local hero of Mactan Island in the Philippines. Lapu was the one beheaded and not Lapu-lapu. The lyrics was intentionally exaggerated by Ez for emphasis. Lapu-lapu went to Borneo with his 3 wives and 11 children and his 17 men. Nobody knows exactly how Lapu-lapu died though.

If you come from a country that was ruled by Spain for over 300 years, there's angst and passion. "I'm in SPAIN, but the letter s is silent." He is possessed by our ancestors massacred and burnt in the name of religion, identity stripped and freedom stolen! I've watched a ton of reaction videos and you can tell if one has knowledge of world history of COLONIALISM. He's schoolin'. The kids'a a genius and the lyrics go DEEP.
Notice how he spews spanish words, like "mundo" and "lenguaje". And I liked that when he switched to the third language, Ilocano, he had to hold himself from cursing at the start of his rap! I do that too when I drop something, as if people here in Switzerland would understand me lol!
He switches in 3 languages, speaking about the dark Spanish rule, color discrimination within our race, and his cry for unity and patriotism. I'm "Pinoy" (slang for Filipino) but I had no idea who this kid was till today. And I'm freakin' binge-watching all these reaction videos I had to copy paste my comments!

Tagalog, Bisaya, and Ilocano are a few of the Filipino languages. It's not a dialect those are languages or the people who speak the said language.

La introducción utiliza la melodía de baile folclórico de Carinosa.
Llamando a los filipinos a unirse y amarse unos a otros olvidando el pasado negativo y unirse para salir victoriosos
    Sin embargo, como dijeron:
Puedes sacar a un hombre del capó
Pero no puedes quitarle la capucha al hombre
    Compatriotas, ¡aparezcan!
    Somos filipinos
    Cualquier color de piel
    ponlo en serio,
ya sea tagalog, visaya o ilocano
    Nadie puede vencer la ferocidad
    De nuestra sangre
    Grita fuerte
    Nuestra victoria
    No hables de eso
    Eventos negativos
    Donde quiera que estés
    En el mundo
    es nuestro futuro
    ¡VICTORIOSO!
    Si

    He estado en España (España)
    No, nunca tememos a nadie
La mayoría de nosotros no crecimos con un fondo fiduciario
Sepa que estoy dispuesto a matar por un ser querido
Estoy en movimiento de nada a alguien
Recordando a mi gente que grite:
    SOMOS FILIPINOS....
    ¡VICTORIOSO!

The Wish 107.5 bus is actually based in the Philippines. It also moves around the city featuring numerous singer from all countries. Now it has a huge following and brought to the U.S.
EZ spoke, sang and rapped in English, and 2 dialects of the Philippines, first Tagalog then Ilocano. There's over a hundred + dialects in the Philippines plus Spanish and English. Amazing for a young man to do. Great song for his Motherland ... Philippines 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭‼️

"Tisoy" Filipino slang for Spanish word "Mestizo" that means offspring of a Filipino and White. Filipinos are naturally friendly and funny, If you are called tisoy, that doesn't mean you are discriminated.

EZ MIL said... he's been discriminated in the Philippines.. by Calling Him "TISOY" when he was a boy the other kids teasing and mocking him.... "ANG PUTI PUTI MO TISOY" in English.. "YOU'RE TOO WHITE... TISOY" the word "TISOY" means his whitish skin color quite similar to a person with albinism... but He replied: I'M NOT TISOY....!!" I'M PINOY!!!

    • @mellmendoza1049
      @mellmendoza1049 3 года назад

Tisoy doesn't refer to albinism. Tisoy is short for mestizo: a person of mixed race, in the Philippines it's usually a Caucasian and a Filipino. Also, when one is called tisoy it's not really a discrimination. Many Filipinos actually prefer light complexion which is why lightening skin products are popular in the Philippines.

He is speaking 3 languages in that rap song, English(international language), tagalog(national language), and Ilocano(local language here in Luzon). Filipinos are known to be multi-linguistic people, 1 person can speak atleast 2 or 5 languages.

Loved the performance. I only understand the English part & some tagalog. He did 3 languages (English, tagalog, ilokano). Most of us Filipinos don't understand because its way too fast.
    Thanks for the review man

    FACTS:
He is singing/rapping in 3 languages, English, and 2 dialects Tagalog and Ilocano.
    Filipino/Filipina is a person, not a language.

Hi... He is speaking in multi-lingual, english, tagalog, and ilocano. In the Philippines have many dialects and tagalog and ilocano are few of the many dialects. Because the Philippines is an Archepelago we have different tribes so we have more dialects.

I guess i’ll say what other people are gonna say or already said -
    - “Panalo” means win or winning on how you use it
    - “22 double O” its the zip code of Olongapo City
    - the part where he seems angry when rapping tagalog halfway is actually a dialect “Ilocano”
    - some people assume he’s rapping angrily but it’s actually passionately
    - “tisoy” means half pinoy, half foreigner
    - hes a son of a famous rock performer? dont know much but its what i heard
I think thats it? But thats all i know 😁👍
btw he has another vid on the wish bus called “IDK” plz react to it

Ilocano is a Language not a dialect.
Dialect is a variety of a Language like "Tagalog in Batangas, Tagalog in Bulacan, Tagalog in Manila" that is Dialect.

He speaks English and Filipino fluently. He uses kinda deep and traditional Filipino words in his rap.He incorporated two Filipino dialects-Tagalog and Ilocano, and he is fluent on both.Tagalog is generally used and understood by all here in the Philippines but not everyone speaks and understands Ilocano here because it's a difficult dialect. The part where he looks and sounds really angry, that's the Ilocano part.haha.The song is basically about patriotism and being proud of our Filipino blood.
The S-Pain part is about Filipinos' history with Spaniards colonizing the Philippines for 300 plus years. The last part where he raps super fast is something about our history and our Filipino warriors and heroes in the past during colonization.

    Here’s the translation
    Compatriots, turn up!
    [Hook]
    We are Filipino
No matter what your skin color,
    We are one at heart
Whether you are Tagalog, Visayan, or Ilocano
    Nothing can defeat the ferocity
    Of our blood
    Shout out loud
    Our victory
    Stop talking about
    All the negative events
    Whichever side you are on
    In the world
    This is our future
    Victory
    [Verse 1]
    Yeah
Keep runnin' ya mouth when you lyin'
I stay on my business while watchin' you dyin'
I'm takin' my people to heights while you cryin'
Bout regular livin' & that's what I'm tryna
Prove, 'stead of just lyin' in booths
First true Filipino rapper on the news
Sit, enjoy it if ya' cool
    Haters can snooze
While I put my city on the map
22-double the Olongapo City no cap
Never forgettin' the street where my
Cousin would sit when we always just listen to rap
Kendrick, Em, & A$AP with some metal
And man we would turn up with that
Been mundane till the sun came
Now I want fame like a kid in the trap uh
    Aye
    I been in Spain (Spain)
But the letter 'S' is silent (pain) - Philippines got colonised by spain for 300 year’s-
I'm claimin' my reign like a king
So I can water crops for survivin' (rain rain)
Go away if you trippin' (yuh)
Had a homie he was Cripn' (cuh)
Ain't got no love for the people
Who talk over songs when they
    Claimin' they listen (listen listen)
These bars - never done, uh
3 stars and a sun, aye
Blue, red draped down on a flag
    No we never fear none
Most of us didn't grow up with a trust fund
Know that I'm willin' to kill for a loved one
I'm on the move from a nothin' to someone
    Reminding my people to shout:
    [Hook]
    We are Filipino
No matter what your skin color,
    We are one at heart
Whether you are Tagalog, Visayan, or Ilocano
    Nothing can defeat the ferocity
    Of our blood

    Our victory
    Stop talking about
    All the negative events
    Whichever side you are on
    In the world
    This is our future
    Victory
[Verse 2] is a little bit tricky because he use double meaning even if your a Filipino you can’t understand because maybe he use idiom to this verse.. because it’s very deep meaning on this verse but I understand is
    Aye
If you thought there's only one language
    that Ez Mil can spit
You wont go far if you think like that
Settle it with Bathala **Bathala is a Tagalog of god or diety
    Debt from within
Surfacing, served on a turon ( turon is what he means is a Philippines because turon is a common food in Philippines
Pusang sinaing means siopao or white buns is the china because siopao is common bread in china it’s a white buns so he means indebtedness of the philippine government to china. for example china says china will lend you money so until now the philippines are indebted to china which is difficult to pay
    (Speak in Ilocano)
    What?
    (Ilokano! Ilokano!)
    Okay!
**He switches to Ilokano, one of the main languages of Northern Philippines** this also lot of meanings its really hard understand because he always use double meaning on his lyrics
    EVEN THOUGH I TOLD
    YOU MOTHERF@$#@
I'M JUST HERE WAITING FOR WHOEVER
    WANTS TO COME FOR ME
WHY DO YOU HAVE TO BITCH AND CRY
TRYIN TO GIVE ME "ADVICE" he’s pointing about the people who always talking rant
    DO YOU WANNA GET MURDERED
    IN THIS TOWN
**My Ilocano is limited but that the jist that I got 😂😂**
All of you **In Ilocano, Tagalog then English**
Ever since I was a kid I've been kinda
Discriminated in my own home country
    Sure, some would be like:
"You're so white. Tisoy!" **Tisoy is half white half Filipino** he’s talking here if you’re a half white (tisoy) or (tisay) for girls lot tisoy became famous in Philippines by doing movie acting actors or actress but he’s not like them maybe that’s the reason because he wanted is to sing
    I ain't Tisoy
    I'M PINOY
    And I swear that:
NOBODY WILL EVER LOOK AT ME THE
    SAME WAY AGAIN
I'LL MAKE IT TO THE TOP WHILE I BE SHOWIN'
    NAY-SAYERS AND
    I'VE BEEN WINNING SINCE
LAPU-LAPU WAS BEHEADED IN MACTAN*Lapu-Lapu was the king of Mactan, one of the first kingdoms invaded by the Spaniards start 1542 until 1890 intire philippines
    AND ALL WERE SLIGHTED
WHEN THEY FOUND OUT THAT A FOREIGNER KILLED
    THEIR HERO
    ON A SHORE
    OWNED
    BY A FILIPINO
    Despite any turmoil
I'll be proud of my soil
    WHY?
    Cuz..
    [Hook]
    We are Filipino
No matter what your skin color,
    We are one at heart
Whether you are Tagalog, Visayan, or Ilocano
    Nothing can defeat the ferocity
    Of our blood

    Our victory
    Stop talking about
    All the negative events
    Whichever side you are on
    In the world
    This is our future
    Our victory
By the way there’s 167 language in the Philippines and Tagalog is a national language and the three major languages are bisaya Tagalog and Ilocano and the music is a trap cariñosa it’s a a traditional Philippine song start in 1896 to 1970
