Millie (1931)

In this pre-code drama, Millie Blake (Helen Twelvetrees) has a couple of love affairs that go wrong, She recklessly plays the field until she finds out that one of the players from her past has his eyes on her daughter (Anita Louise). She takes matters into her own hands and finds herself in a courtroom having to defend herself for murder!

I can! Pre-code refers to films create before the adoption of the Hays Production Code. I self-censoring of movies that followed guidelines set down by Will Hays. This included limitations on characters and stories.
This included not having women appear to be promiscuous, not showing authority figures in a bad light, and not allowing wrong doers from "getting away" with anything and always having to pay for their crimes. (So no anti-heroes or vigilantes, etc)
