This is the perfect song for Beat's battles in Week 2. Beat's motives are vague and he speaks with the pure will of going forwards. As the lyrics say, he will be the villain if he knows it's right. Of course, he is doing it all for Rhyme, but considering how vague it is, the player at this point can fully interpret it as purely selfish reasons, hence the lyrics about only caring about one's self. And the core of the song, life is tatakai, tatakai means battle, and for Beat his life, specially in the UG was a very arduous battle to get Rhyme back. Another neat detail is the "What i have here, don't you touch. It's mine." can absolutely be refering to Rhyme's pendant and how Neku gets it and hands it to Beat, who reluctantly and somewhat agressively takes it from him. And to finish it off, "I am not here to be perfect and willing." and "Nothing is gonna change me." simbolize perfectly how Beat felt about his parents, that drove him to escape from his home with Rhyme, into the accident. He isn't here to fulfill their expectations. He's here for himself. Closing off from everyone, even Rhyme. In the end this song is not for Reaper Beat, but more for Beat before the Reaper's Game. His life was a fight for himself before the accident, and this is my interpretation of Tatakai.
Honestly they didn't change much for the "final remix." if they do something different it might be a whole new soundtrack. But I'd totally bump some new music from takeharu Ishimoto. Id feel kinda cheated but if it's good music it's good music.
I disagree tbh, anime don't normally use rock/j-pop songs with lyrics in fights. It's more of a video game thing (unless they play the intro in the fight), but i'd love to hear some of the original songs from the game in it instead of the remixes or 100% new ost

*”I’d rather be the villain, as long I know it’s right.”* Definitely lines up what Beat Edit: More specifically in what he’s doing during week 2 of the first game
In my eyes, Beat was simply willing to do whatever he thought it would take to get Rhyme back. He didn’t seem to care about how others would perceive him or his actions. What can be viewed as right and wrong is based on your own perspective and judgement. I want to point out this line in the song *”I feel nothing when you taunt. Guess I’m over it.”* If Beat is going to be viewed and treated as “the villain” as a consequence to doing what he feels is right, then he is more than willing to stand up to that and fight for what he believes in.
Both are really good, I just wish the ost would get better quality recordings... i Dunno, it seems like the audio quality seems bad compared to in-game, the song is kinda downplayed
Honestly? I think it's because Beat has matured past the mindset this song is painting. In TWEWY he hasn't learned to rely on others yet, but in NEO he's already a mostly finished character.

awesome.
Pretty much every song in the game talks to me like this. I freakin love breakdowns like this!
Actually, this song is more for Neku given his views at the start of the game
@@shelbybayer200 it can be perfectly both, it does fit Beat to a t tho, its the magic of music, multiple interpretations and both can be valid
Most underrated TWEWY song ever.
Most underrated song ever.
Most badass song ever
This one grows on you, didn’t appreciate it at first, love it now.
Still by far my faborite song in the game it fits beat quite well for his circumstances
This song better make it in the anime. I mean, it just screams to be used in an anime fight.
Wouldn't mind a completely unique ost tho, if it was made by the same people
I don't know if it will but I sure hope it does
I could see it used either in a fight or even the opening with the really upbeat part of it.

Why, oh why do they laugh so much
All the time
Oh, what I have here don't you touch
This is mine
Go, just go and talk all you want
I don't care
Oh, I feel nothing when you taunt
Guess I'm over it
Go on bring more to me
Nothing is gonna change me
Don't you dare try and pull me into your world
I have myself to follow
That's who I choose to live for
I'm not here to be perfect and willing
I'd rather be the villain
As long as I know it's right
Yeah, some people make bad attempts
To make you fall
Oh, it's not the right way to play
It's the dirty way
Yeah, sometimes you just gotta fight
For that something
No, not everybody can shine
Go and get it
Warm love, lies and distraction
I'll learn that shouldn't matter
All I need is that crown of succession
So many ways to get there
You never know what's right
I don't know how things will turn out
Only thing I care is that living with all my force
I'll admit I may not be the strongest
Torn up into the darkness
Been there so many times
No ones help I fell to rise back up
Don't underestimate me
You ain't seen nothing yet
Life is tatakai
Never lose your might
Faith will help you win tonight
Don't you dare try and pull me into your world
I have myself to follow
That's who I choose to live for
I'm not here to be perfect and willing
I'd rather be the villain
As long as I know it's right.
