video idea: pick random colors of yarn blindfolded and then make something out of them 👀

    • @kayliv793
      @kayliv793 3 месяца назад +13

Maybe pick some colors, put them in a big bag, shake a lot and then decide before blindfolded picking what you would like to crochet? For example 1 bucket hat and then just pick two colors randomly out of the prepared bag. If the colors are to atrocious pick again. :D You could also make some mystery scrunchies with this method, or bandanas.

Or write down certain colors of yarns and put them in a bowl and pick that way

Content idea - write down a handful of yarns that have been sitting in your stash for some time and pick one out of a hat. Then write ideas of things to make with those yarns and pull one of those out of a hat. Make whatever combo you end up with. Hoping that makes sense? Could be a way to use up some yarn and then it’s also making one item as well. :)

    • @Elia-DCrea

maybe you can have a hat for small project (1skin or less) and one with bigger project (more than one) depending on how much yarn you have

Video idea: I really liked the digging around your yarn room video. You could do something like that. Go through one bin/box/bag in your yarn mountain. Talk about where the yarn came from, plan projects to use it up, and then crochet with some of it. Just one bin per video, and eventually you’ll clear out and organize your room!

This. Watching you run your business is entertainment enough. The extras of how many can i crochet, how much yarn can i use, theyre all great, but they can be scattered here and there. Your daily vlogs of just business life is great content, I'm not sure if you realise that?
Perhaps it depends on the demographic youre trying to hit - this 37 yr old likes to knit while watching your vlogs.

20:06 I really liked your review of the big twist pride yarns. Maybe you could do some more yarn reviews? Like try some lesser known brands and give us some idea of what they’re like.
Maybe try a mystery yarn challenge? Let Cesar buy you a quantity of yarn and then you get to try to make something out of it.
Speaking of mystery. Another crocheter I watch does a mystery vintage pattern series. Her son photo copies all the patterns from a vintage pattern book, removes all the images, blacks out the title, and blacks out any mention of what the FO is supposed to be within the pattern itself.
It could be fun to have Cesar do something similar and you can try to make something without knowing what it is.
What about picking a bunch of super easy small patterns you’ve never tried before, like amigurumi patterns, and choosing one of those at random to make.
Try some crochet gadgets and gizmos.
Make a sponsored video where you do tapestry crochet and make the companies logo or even do a non sponsored one for a brand of something you love like Dr Pepper.
Try a new hobby! I crochet and knit like you, but I also hand spin my own yarn and I recently picked up bobbin lace. But there’s also weaving, tatting, Irish crochet, Tunisian crochet, knooking, needle felting, embroidery, cross stitch, latch hook, and probably more that I can’t even think of. You wouldn’t even have to stick to yarn if you don’t want to. Try wood working, painting, diamond painting, a musical instrument, sculpting, etc.
Remember that we don’t ONLY watch you because we relate to your hobbies. We have a million options for that. We watch you specifically because we like you!
Don’t be afraid to branch out and try new things! We’re here to encourage and support you!

I’ve seen some people do a spin the wheel challenge. You could do a wheel for some projects you’ve been wanting to do, general clothing items, different yarn types, yarn color, etc. You could also number all your shelves/cubbies and use a random number generator to choose one and pick a yarn off that shelf. If you were planning on donating some of that yarn from the bins you went through last week, a yarn un-haul might be something fun to see. Your thought process and decision between which ones to let go and keep. Or a general scrap yarn video where you see how many you can use or just general ideas for scrap yarn

  • @Margot_Lazarus

Honestly doing chill vlogs like this I think is fine. You can make whatever you feel like and show us after a week. You could talk about the pros and cons of being a small business owner. Video idea: maybe write down some larger projects (that can still be made in a day) on paper, cut them into strips, fold them, and put them in a cup and choose at random. In another cup you could put colors and have it be completely random

An idea for a video: an awards show. The awards could be things like, best yarn for tops, bags, hats, etc., best show to crochet to, best hooks, favorite projects, even some least favorites. It would be fun to look at and could help people who are starting out.

    A few video ideas
    - Going through and “organizing” all of a yarn type (Velvet, sugar & cream, etc). Would be fun to see all of the Sugar & Cream colors for example.
    - How many head warmers can you make in a day or x hours - hopefully using the knitting machine takes the strain off your hands. Maybe Cesar could help with cranking the tubes, I can imagine his commentary 😂
    - You had some early designs of tops in the cube video made in acrylic. Would be interesting to revisit one of those designs now that you have so much more experience. Make changes, knit in cotton, create a new pattern.
    - Choose an interesting skein out of your stash, find a new pattern or two to use up the yarn. The new pattern might even make it into your rotation like the granny stitch hat.
    - Play around with the scrunchie pattern, add eyelets, double vs triple crochet, etc.
    - Scrappy days where you gather all the partially used skeins of a type (like velvet) and make scrappy projects.

Your alphabet series seems like too much work. I love the color series and they seem fun for you. Maybe just do more frequent color videos and don’t stress too much over rainbow order - just pic a color theme for the day and knock out a bunch of quick items that you enjoy. Just by having a color theme you get a cool thumbnail and everything looks nice together. It just seems like you use a bunch of stash yarn doing those videos and you seem happy and relaxed in the videos. We want you to be happy and not stressed! ❤

1.I think you should break the B video in 2 parts. Considering how many black items you have made over the years, it will be a very long video. Don't get me wrong, we will watch it. But considering it takes so much time to make, maybe a 2 part video wouldn't be a bad idea
    2. You could do more vlogs..we like watching you crochet, and many of us crochet with you. Yes, 'how many can I make in a day" videos are more fun, but let's be honest. It's unrealistic of us to expect you put 1 or 2 of these videos every week!
    3. I really thing that organization videos would be fun. This wouldn't require crocheting, and it would be a good opportunity to see how much progress you have made with your stash!
    4. Maybe some type of yarn review video? You could make pros/cons lists or suggested usage for each yarn

-making accessories for your office? Some headphone accessories or coasters or things for your office?

Video idea- small gifts. It's still early, but with handmade gifts an early start is best (says the person who literally waits until the last minute for everything). But I mean small stuff. Not amigurumi necessarily, like, fingerless gloves, scrubby mitts, coaster sets, tree ornaments, cup coozies, and bowl holders! Small gifts that can be made by many skill levels. Plus, these are quick projects for you, too!

I’d like to see pattern reviews, like if you easily match designer’s gauge, yarn substitutions, difficulty level, time to make, etc. You try following a tutorial in a different language. Host a CAL/KAL with your subs & make progress updates. Try to recreate a designer crochet product. Make a pattern from every letter of alphabet - your patterns or someone else’s. What can I make with my yarn scraps video. That’s all I got for now lol.

As for videos and making them easy (especially on your hands), I LOVE when you include your other daily stuff in the videos, like what you are eating, your dogs, and the little Cesar moments. You are producing 4 videos a week, with the gaming channel. Honestly don't know how you do it! Just know that me, and I am sure a ton of other people, are here for the crochet but also for your personality. It might be cool to include some clips of you playing games with Cesar--really causal and unprofessional, just like a shot of you and/or him on the couch screaming at an enemy or working through game play, without needing to film the screen or know the entire scenario, although knowing the game would be cool! I also loved last year's christmas vlogs where you and Cesar did stuff like the gingerbread houses and you made those chocolate covered pretzels. What about "Nedgie picks out toys from the pet store" lol! I used to watch Super Cooper Sundays and now am starved for good dog content

Do a newer QandA video that doesn't take too long
Then do another one-day video the same day you film the QandA you could do a 1-2 hour crochet project make one or two of them for a video
then you have two videos in one day that way you're two videos ahead.
I have a crochet Facebook account I have all of my stuff scheduled out for a month because I work like crazy for one week and then have enough to go for a month (I post daily)

I really enjoy your vlogs about your average day, making whatever you need to, filling orders, going to lunch, Cesar being entertaining, &, of course, your sweet dogs! We're getting an insight into your business, & I don't think you should compromise that by making crazy things, when what you need to do is restock. I really like the Love bag! 🩷 Best wishes from Czechia!

Hi. Love your content. Maybe put ideas for small and quick items in a bag and pick them at random? Eg kindle cases or thin granny square headbands or even the long legged frogs 🐸 Or a christmas in july crochet for baubles, stockings, christmas card appliques etc. Look foward to your next video.

    Video Ideas:
Crochet with me ambient video with some soft background music
Crochet and chill video where you just chat while crocheting
Crochet sitdown where you record yourself crocheting made into a timelapse and just talk about personal goals, some new crafting supplies you have, the fiber community, etc.
    Hope these are doable!🩵

I’ve commented before that I love watching you pack orders. It really is some great ASMR (well for me, anyways).
How did you and Cesar (spelling?) meet? I get a kick out of some of the things he says. 😂

Personally, I love your just day to day vlogs with no plan. I get to live vicariously through you. I think maybe a Q&A for you and Cesar would be fun. I agree with the others saying to write down the different yarn you have and then draw one out of a hat. It would challenge you. But girl, you've provided us with so much content. Take a break! We can re-watch your previous videos and be just fine.

Try Salonpas patches, the original formula. Inexpensive. A fellow old timer Mosaicist recommended these to me along with a cloth thumb brace- worked wonders even without the thumb thingy.

Have a day or two where you only do small easy projects 💕 not as a challenge or anything, just like scrunchies, bandanas, bucket hats, market bags, just choose your fave colours or colour combos, maybe make everything 2-toned for a day..
Loved your rainbow series as well and I hope you continue with the other colours you mentioned (pink, brown, grey, etc)
Also make something for yourself 🥰 in one of your previous videos you were going through your yarn bins/baskets and you had a bunch of old projects in one of them and it was your early days of creating patterns I think, but a few of the tops had similar designs, and I wondered if you'd ever try to recreate one of your old designs? Or whenever you next have a pattern you want to create, film the process where you figure everything out and how you write the pattern..
But as many others have said, we just enjoy watching you, even if it's like this vlog where you film bits and pieces of random projects🫶 anything is great, and definitely rest/take breaks when you need to💕

As one of your fan I can say I'm fine with asmr packing. Actually I always with the small part of video is packing. 😅 than we know there are some ups ans downs. Breaks are such important. Than about content ideas, you have there a box of old yarn you sorted last time, it can be bags all of it. Granny square bags and mesh bags. We love it. Is a beach/pool time. Or you can try some mesh skirts for beach outfit.

On the same wibe as @CraftyKatShopUS, you could pick randoms colors (of the same kind) from a hat to do color work on big project like a scarf, a top or a cardigan. If you finish a row and after you pick a new random color and do the next row it would be fun to see the finish result (multiple skin of the same color allowed)
Or pick randow color to do granny square (we know you love granny square) and do a bag with them
You could continue on the Pride theme and adapt your Pride top with other Pride flags colors, or do other items in rainbow colors.
Do your best like always and don't overwork and take break if you need it :)

Heya Kelsie. Look after yourself! I have a video idea but I'm not sure its the easy video you need, but might be good for giving your hands a break. Based on the numbers you write on the packages when you ship them out, it looks like you're coming up to 10000 orders? Firstly, congratulations! If you have all the data, when you hit that milestone I think it would be interesting to hear some statistics of what you've sold! Things like best selling items, proportion of ready made items to custom orders, number of items per order, number of countries you've sold to, number of repeat customers etc maybe its because im a math nerd, but I'd find that interesting ❤

Video Idea! You could do some stash busting videos! Come up with a list of things that you can make to bust out some of you stash and make a couple videos with you making 2-3 stash busting projects. Could be great to give others ideas and also most of us just love sitting and crocheting with you so you don’t need to feel pressured to make so many things for each video 😃💕 love your content! I’m planning to send a gift to your P.O. Box soon too! ☺️

An idea for you- let chaos decide what you crochet: put all the items on slips of paper in a hat (top, bag, hat, whatever) and then maybe something else in another bag- could be colors or yarns, or brands or sizes or whatever- then you pull one thing from each hat and you have to make whatever the FATES give you. You could modify this in whatever way will ensure you'll have sellable items no matter the combination.

Kelsey: hand and arm exercises should help you with the hand and arm pain. Nothing elaborate: close your hands in a fist, and then open your hands and stretch to the max. Do this up to ten times. Also, move your arms like if you're flying ten times. Follow these with pretending that you're reaching on the top of the closet. You can look for more exercises in RUclips. The pain will go away.
Love your videos! Keeping motivated make dolls for my upcoming web store. ❤

An idea for a video could be reviewing patterns by other creators. I'm currently working on a crochet bikini pattern and making the pattern as-is just doesn't work for my body type. I wish someone would make a video of the process of making the pattern (credit to the creator & not actually giving the pattern in the video) & review it so I know what to expect going into it. I always feel like I have to make a 'rough draft' version of a garment pattern before I work out how I actually like it for myself and then I end up losing motivation to actually do it. Thanks for the fun videos!

Video idea: Assign #s to the cubes on your shelves/yarn storage areas. Then randomly draw numbers... you can only use yarn from the specified shelf/cube for the duration of the day or vlog. Might help you use up stash yarn you wouldn't normally grab and free up some shelf space :)
