I got an Atmos Carbon 2020, and I'm by no means a very good rider, nor have I experimented / compared boards a lot. Having said this, I do LOVE just how it goes. It jumps nice, lands fine, goes through chop very well. In general very happy with it!
    (I have a 136, and I weight 74kg/163lbs)

I've bought Atmos half a year ago, to change my Select Textreme 2019, but couldn't fall in love with it and still go on the water with my old one... By the way, Atmos is noticeably heaver and Duotone pods are much more comfortable for me.

Duotone pads are more comfy, Atmos pads are stiffer, making the board a bit more responsive.

How would you compare with the carbon Jaime?

Glad you asked. The Jaime txt is one board we’ve done more content on than any other! I’d say the Atmos is more utilitarian. No frills, right to the point and super effective. The Jaime is stiff under the feet but has some flex in the tip and tail. Light and snappy are the only way to describe it. Also a very fast board that you can control speed and power with. You literally can’t go wrong with either. The Jaime is more playful, the Atomos is straight to business. - Rygo

It's marketed as a big air board. You didn't speak about getting big air. Did you find that it helped you jump higher with more control?

All the things covered in the video lend themselves to big air. The three biggest factors are speed, the boards stiffness to transfer that energy to a pop and the ability to control all that power. The Atmos hits all three. Hope that helps! - Rygo

Hi Rygo, need your advice to choose the correct Atmos Carbon size.Ive been kiting for 12 years, Im 5'8 (1.73cm), 158lbs (72KG) (not powerful legs for sure, more on the skinny side), and have a 2017 Switchblade 9 and my home kite spot is choppy around 20kts average(windy spot for sure). I wanna do big air. what board size should i go and which is it faster a smaller size or bigger one.I wanna go BIG.ty man. Best Kite Channel on youtube!!!
And giving U my physicals ,Kite size and home spot specs can u suggest another Big air Board and size.ty

So my local store where I got my Atmos Carbon from, advised for me 136. I'm a bit taller than you, but weigh about the same, for what it's worth.
I know Rygo prefers the boards to be a bit bigger, but 136 for me feels very nice at least!

Haha you know me! Yes at 158 I’m sure the 136 is fine. Especially with this style of board. You could size up and it would be amazing on lighter days. You could also size down a little on the kite. Many of the pro riders are now using 150 and up. Albeit, that’s only for wakestyle boards. I would not go that big with a foot strap board like this. Haha bigger boards are a growing trend outside the big air circles for sure. They are epic for freeride and freestyle. I’d say 136 or 138 would be fine. 🤙🏻 - Rygo

How does it compare to the Jaime SLS for old school and big air in 2022/2023 models? Considering both schools ride between powered and overpowered, and need to handle any conditions from flat to chop to storms. When overpowered I really liked my freestyle board (Liquid Force Radnium 142x42.6) using straps instead of boots, but it's too heavy for boardoffs and probably a bit limited in the speed, especially at the lower end of wind range for looping.
It seems much stiffer, a bit heavier, a bit more rockered, and less aggressively channeled compared to the Jaime SLS (especially the 2023 Jaime which seems to have additional "channel" for extra grip compared to the 2022, while the Atmos is practically unchanged from 2022). The 136x40 Atmos carbon felt a bit bouncy on the chop, but I couldn't try it on the same day along with the Jaime SLS, and I didn't get a chance to grab the 138x41 yet, which is probably a more suitable size for me (84kg). I wish I could try both in 25+ knots days too, but such days are not common in current season so it's difficult to get it for demo in such conditions, and I'll probably have to decide before the winter.

Thank you for asking, Gal. 🤙🏽 The Atmos Carbon and Jaime SLS are both performance-oriented boards and will both put a huge smile on your face in a wide range of conditions. -Aaron

@@MACkiteboarding Ended up getting a chance to try both for a bit, unfortunately only at 15-22 knots wind range not both on the same day, but they're both definitely amazing boards. The Jaime is a more comfortable ride, softer, lighter, nicer in the chop and a bit better grip. Atmos is stiffer and therefore more reactive and fits a more aggressive riding style, and lands a bit better with the extra rocker. Straps are also comfier on the Duotone but stiffer and therefore make the board more responsive on the North. Both straps are actually pretty great, which is something I rarely say about straps. My choice ended up being the Atmos Carbon 138x41 for the stiffness and responsiveness, although I'm not sure as I really liked the extra grip and comfort on the Jaime.

I find my 2021 hybrid very unstable in the chop and not easy to handle when overpowered most of all really heavy 141 90kg.
I tried the Jaime 23 SLS and everything felt much easier chop edge control
In your opinion is the Focus more comparable to the Jaime ?
Haven't been kiting long interested to see what other people think

How would you compare with the Naish Monarch/Core choice?

Rygo, I ride in ontario canada . Would you recommend the 141 or 138 for a 165-170 lbs rider , big wind comesnin the cold westher season, so I have to wwsr 6/5mm wetsuit and 8mm booties and gloves. Being as its fesh water what size would you recommend, it's gusty and top windbis 25 knots gusting low 30's

    • @MACkiteboarding
      @MACkiteboarding  2 года назад

I have been that weight in a fresh water gusty location. 141 would be very useful unless you are powered kiteloop big air specific. Then something smaller would be ideal as you’re going to want to ride lit and will need a smaller board that won’t overpower you. If your riding in strong winds often say 25, 30 & up, the 138 will be prime. In all other instances a bigger board is more fun imo. - Rygo
