1:38 The speed of a CPU also depends on IPC (instructions per clock). This is why newer CPUs with a lower frequency can outperform older CPUs with a higher frequency.
I thought it was to do with more cores or new tech XD
@@zyxify9429 Yes, that's another factor. I didn't say IPC was the *only* thing that affects the speed of a CPU.
@@NOT_A_ROBOT oh well ok good to know
@@zyxify9429 cores, cache, ipc, frequency and thermals all play into the speed
That’s what I’m talking about 👏 I love it! Keep up the good work.
Ayye thank you ..I will
i love how you add crisp in your videos!. Found you from recomendations! Keep Up Good Work!
Thanks so much!
Ardens putting 6gb of ram as "gamer" and 8gb as "pro gamer" literally hurt my soul.
i think nowadays 8 gb is a bare minimum
while 16 gb is around the sweet spot
I'm pro gay man!
what
@@stysan did you forget to change accs ?
I'm noob
6Gb Gamer? 8Gb Pro Gamer? This can be a divisive topic since it heavily depends on use case, but this is far from what I'd consider close to the "general consensus."
I'd recommend altering the values to something like this (as of 2022, Standard Desktop):
2Gb - Doorstop
4Gb - Super-Light Office Work
8Gb - General Office Work, Light Entertainment, Noob
16Gb - *Ideal Average for modern systems.* Intensive office work, Entertainment, Light Streaming, normal CAD work. Gamer.
32Gb - Pro-Gamer/Streamer, Heavier CAD and 3D modeling, Video editing, VR, most Adobe Suite tools (recommended)
64 Gb - Hardcore Gamer/Streamer, Heaviest CAD and 3D modelling software, Heavy Video Editing/Music Production, Adobe After Effects (user recommended)
128 Gb - "Newellism is my religion," Noob
2GB is good enough to be used as a router. Or a very light weight local development machine, like running a basic PHP server. You can even use it to read emails and have 1 video open!
I used a pc with 2gbs of ram, it worked
agree
I used a 512mb raspberry pi
Congrats on already reaching 6k!
7.3k
fanfic author here, you are a life saver because I have to write somebody who specialises in a field of science that I almost decided to study 😭
You're underrated!
a few corrections
As one person said - The speed of a CPU also depends on IPC (instructions per clock). This is why newer CPUs with a lower frequency can outperform older CPUs with a higher frequency.
an actually good ram chart:
2GB - useless unless you run linux
4GB - masochist
6GB - armchair masochist
8GB- minimum
12GB - noob
16GB - Gamer
32GB - Pro Gamer
64GB - hardcore gamer
128GB - newellism is my religion
Hybrid drives (SSHD) exist too, but they arent as popular.
Optical drives are basically extinct now.
Bold of you to assume that I, 4gb ram owner, use windows
24GB? (8+16)
Why are you so underrated?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!
2:49 Michael Vsause here
This was explained very well, nice job
I can't believe how fast your channel has grown in 1 year, you'll be the new dream soon!
such expectations ...I don't think I can meet them, but I'll try
6:21 I agree with you
The fridge has a switch or button where the door closes or on the door and if you press it, the light turns off
2:49 Yeah, it does! When I was bored asf in a day I put my phone in the fridge recording and when I closed the door the light turned off! ez

Thnx man, very helpful

For the table RAM analogy, chrome would be like trying to keep a whole table saw on a table. Takes up a whole bunch of space that it doesn't need to. How about... Not putting a table saw on a table?
My laptop struggling to keep up with my 60 chrome tabs...
try using firefox! great on the ram, and you can still use ad blockers
When you get rich and famous, please remember me :)
i think the power supply would be the father
It pumps into the mother board so that the children can function.
That's some good quality shit. Keep goin'.
Omg bro before i started watching your vids i didn't know nothing bout this kind of stuff so thank you bro 😁

Yessir 🙌 Thank you so much! And I can see the comparison 😂 But I'll do my best to post more frequently in the future
2:07 hah, amateurs! I use a riscV processor with OpenBSD!

"hard drives and SSDS can store from 500 gygabytes to 2 terrabytes of memory"
me who has a C: Hard Drive with 120 gigabytes and D: with 117 gygabytes so even if you combine that its less than 500:
Me with 64gb of memory: 👁👄👁
why you need that much💀
I think- next is ram

CPU sus
help, my pc doesn't have a video card but have a gpu????
it's integrated in the processor (it's called uhd graphics for intel chips and vega in the amd ones).
Most CPUs come with an iGPU with a few exceptions. It's to reduce the cost of PCs because the majority of people don't need graphics cards which costs at least 200 $/€ for the new ones, as they only use the computer to do simple tasks that only require a basic GPU to display things on the screen.
Not sure why I'm watching this, seeing as I have my computer science GCSEs in a few months (meaning I really should know all of this) but good video nonetheless :D
16gb is hardcore gamer?
i have that and a 2GHz CPU
8GB ram owner yet can’t run a simple game without it having a brain crash for 15 time per second lmao
which "simple game" are you trying to run?
I think I'm ur 167 no subscriber...
