Russia: Khatami Wrap: Iranian President Mohammad Khatami visit

Iranian President Mohammad Khatami visited Mission Control Room in Koroleyv, a town outside of Moscow early Tuesday morning .
Russian space officials showed Khatami control rooms from where flights to space station MIR and International Space Station are tracked.
After the visit to Mission Control, Khatami participated in traditional wreath laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier next to the Kremlin wall.
In the afternoon, Khatami received honorary doctor's degree at the Moscow State University and met with the head Mufti (Islamic priest) of Russia, Ravil Gainutdin, at Moscow mosque.
Khatami arrived in Moscow on Monday for a four-day visit, hoping to resume arms sales to Iran, amid strong U-S opposition to growing ties between the two nations.
Khatami's first meeting was with the Russian President Vladimir Putin.
After the talks, Putin agreed to resume sales of conventional arms saying that it is economically beneficial for Russia and, politically, it would ensure Iran's independence as well as it will protect its national interests.
