Focussed, congruent and a perfect reflection of the owner. What more could you ask for? BTW, the sound on this, as was the picture quality, really was a step up. The cappuccino dial is very alluring I must say. Regrettably, I am nowhere near this level of purity in collecting, but will keep trying. This video has made me realize I love too many genres/styles of watches. I'm always envious of a collector who can narrow it down to just one, like your love of divers. "State of the Watch Infection", Genius. 🤣🤣🤣 You remain an inspiration. KBO!
I love many other types of watches such as chronographs and many models of the Seiko Astron, but in my experience, I never wear them enough to keep them, so here I am with my small mechanical diver collection.
I used to frequent your channel back in the old days of the Tuna rotation, that's not to say that I haven't popped in from time to time since then, but back in those Tuna days, I never would have expected to see you in a watch below 45mm, and I never ever would have thought I'd see you wear a watch on anything other than a Strapcode bracelet, least of all a rubber strap!
I scratched my itch for an El Primero, with an homage on a blue leather strap. Your collection could use a chronograph, instead of a Willard, McMahon. Imagine pushing buttons anytime you feel like it...
@@Killua_Overwatch Mostly true. Yet need is not really an issue either. But Jeff does look at his watches a lot. With this chronograph hand rotating every 10 seconds, and the 2 subdials totaling seconds and minutes, there is a 3 ring circus of activity going-on. It's an entirely different experience.
That ever brilliant steel on the 055 is so eye catching. Wish Seiko would add some other color ways to that style of watch (a sunburst yellow dial would look amazing!). Great infection/collection and your choices are top notch!
Your collection is so refined and is composed of premium divers. You are at the top of the ladder, I mean there are no other better than the ones you are showing.
Well, I shouldn’t have watched this episode as I’m now thinking of getting that SLA O55 with the blue dial and love it on that waffle strap. Really nice! I am totally watch infected. Geez.
First of all I am glad you are back on yt and you regularly post videos again. Second this is the best collection that you have ever shown to us in my opinion. My next move would be to get rid of the spb and to buy a Seiko Tuna Emperor with 8l movement on rubber. That would be then the perfect Seiko diver collection.
My only critique: there’s only divers. Diver watches are my favorite, too, but I’ll be looking to add some luxury dress, chrono, and GMT watches to my collection. I have two Tudor divers, three Seiko divers, and a lot of affordable divers. Need some variety.
I haven't bought a watch in nearly 1 year, and unfortunately, I haven't followed you as much. I am waiting on Seiko to put out a SLA051 type release with a coffee gilded dial and matching bezel insert. May be the exit watch I've been waiting for. BTW, excellent camera work! Long time in coming! Forgive the grammer please.
That is an amazing collection of watches. I can see why you daughters think that you keep buying the same watch, but I think that your dedication to seiko divers on straps just shows that you've finally found the design language that speaks to you. To the untrained eye they may look the same, but in my opinion each of those watches has its own distinct character. I would gladly wear any of those watches, but I think the Uemura squeaks by as my favorite. It's absolute perfection. It's everything that is great and unique about Seiko distilled into one watch.
Thats a very nice collection. I was watching the new season of kitchen nightmares and gordon was wearing an iwc mark xviii on a green NATO. And it looked so tooly and awesome it really turned my collection upside down. Now i dont know what i believe. I think there needs to he some mountain top pondering in my future.
i know it might be a bit beneath you(as you have mostly those heavy hitter 8r movement badboys) but i just picked up that new padi king samurai...i know you appreciate a blue seiko dial...gotta say it punches way above its weight with its look....and yeah my infection ..particularly with seiko has been outta control for a while now...i feel your pain! top video man!
Once i got the 055 and put that MM300 strap I don't want to wear anything else. I force myself to wear my other watches on the weekend and I'm not happy wearing them anymore. I need to sell them.
It's kind of funny, I am on a "diver on straps" journey... and they are all Seiko's. I have a great AD and have the SPB 147 on order. I am also really wanting the SPB 143 but that will go on a sailcloth, as well as a "Willard" but haven't decided which one, you say the black one was a little boring ... hmmm
I’m the same. I’ve gone right down and all my watches are similar but they’re on oyster bracelets. Tudor bb black Tudor bb gmt Tudor bb panda Rolex exp11 black Rolex submariner Seiko skx 009 And I’m selling my tuna to go back to some master of g’s for beaters.
Mannnn, whatta collection. 😁 I share the same passion about divers too... Though I try to keep them to 1 or 2... Just needed more variety in my collection I guess... A few divers, some dress watches, some cushion case or Smith homages... Should be enough for the mean time... N yes, you're right about the 'infection'... 😁😅😂😂
I got my eye on the seiko Whitsundays limited edition but the price is outrageous $1800- aud I just brought the seiko prospex eucalyptus limited edition for $600 aud 6mths ago now selling for $900 not bad investment I do won’t the seiko prospex Noosa limited edition 6mths ago was $700 now $1700 wow incredible investment piece
No Ashtrayzilla anymore? Calling bracelets as medieval dundgeon shackles is brilliant. I keep my Willard on NATOS, I can't wear it on straps nor bracelet anymore. Cheers.
I've got the SBDC143 which is the JDM version of the "faded Willard." I wear it on an Uncle Seiko chocolate bar strap. I don't care for the woven straps. The fit and finish is great but I like the look of the original Willard better. This version looks like Seiko "tried too hard" for the vintage look and missed. The more I wear it, the more I don't like the beige indices and the bronze font on the bezel. I do though like the blue lume.
@JeffreyMcMahon Personally, I don't; I found them rather stiff, plasticy and cheap feeling. The OEM SEIKO straps, on the other hand, are fantastic quality and can't be beat.
As you move from bracelet to strap, I move from strap to bracelet. It’s good I’m here, as a fellow community-college-professor-watch-addict, maintaining balance in the universe.
As you can see Jeff, after all that messing around with bracelets and straps, you keep coming back to the OEM waffle. This goes to show that Seiko knew all along.
Great collection Jeff. Why do you need another? What are you searching for? The camera looks great by the way, nice work. It’s the 143 for me as one and done. It is so under the radar for me. ‘State of the Obsession’ for me.

No real need for a chronograph though realistically with a dive bezel.
@@Killua_Overwatch Mostly true. Yet need is not really an issue either.

What if your thing is going to the submarine races? You need the bezel to track your air, and the chrono to time the race.
A chronograph Willard. Wow😮 now there’s a concept!

This new camera really makes a difference. The watches just have a more vibrant shine to them.
Such a focused collection.
Someone who has collected for many years and knows exactly what he likes.
Your collection is so refined and is composed of premium divers. You are at the top of the ladder, I mean there are no other better than the ones you are showing.
Multiple colors of every watch cracks me up. You're insane. Been watching for years keep up the great work
That's an absolutely sensational bevy of gorgeous divers. I think your collection is perfect. You are "living the dream" my friend!
The 055 is my favorite! ❤
Lay off the apple fritters McMahon. 😂😂
You know this.
Pretty much down to black Japanese divers on original straps. also not crazy about quick release you can see the lever when you're wearing it

much respect. amazing collection. i hope there is one worthy of a 6th place in the rotation. one that cannot be denied, thanks for showing the watches

I agree completely and am particularly fond of his 055.

Fantastic collection, Jeffrey .
No no no. It’s the sla055 and the others can be gifted to friends and family.
147 for me. That thing looks sweet

Thank you for sharing Jeff. There is some redundancy there but a nice collection nevertheless. Wear them in good health.

As long that is not a watch fungus infection then it be really bad!🤮
The original Tropic strap, is it vulcanized rubber. I prefer it over FKM. You have a very nice collection.
It’s funny…our collections are quite different, but I also have started drifting away from bracelets…..too “jewel-y” perhaps?
Mannnn, whatta collection. 😁 I share the same passion about divers too... Though I try to keep them to 1 or 2...

N yes, you're right about the 'infection'... 😁😅😂😂
Love the infection!
In theory you could be a one watch guy. They do look a bit similar and you only need one brand :-)
Jeff those steel keepers on the Seiko rubber straps are horrid and pull hair. Replace them with rubber keepers
Giving a like just for the funny title, and yes, I infected my family with this funny little hobby
The SLA055 would be on my wrist daily. I’m trying to resist the temptation to buy one. 😮
In person the SLA023 is the most beautiful watch I’ve ever seen. Great collection.

How is the quality of that Uncle Seiko chocolate bar? Do you recommend it?
You might try your SBDC143 on an original orange Tropic or an orange Borealis Isofrane style.
@@JeffreyMcMahon I do recommend Uncle straps. I've got the CB, waffle, and GL-831. Uncle also ships with fat bars.

I’ve had family members say, hay my 🎂 birthday is coming up, and I have enough watches
what the point of buying same watches in that kind of quantity
Not enough watches
What happened the Seiko Tuna and RetroZilla? You have really nice collection. Have you ever thought buying Seiko automatic tuna?
I have a quartz Tuna, very happy with it. My only Citizen is the Whale Shark.
How often do you use those?@@JeffreyMcMahon
@@mattiilli1437 I wear the Tuna once every 2 weeks and the Citizen diver only for the beach or pool, so rarely.

No, but I would like to try it on a black Artem with gray stitching.
As you can see Jeff, after all that messing around with bracelets and straps, you keep coming back to the OEM waffle. This goes to show that Seiko knew all along.
Really nice collection McMahon. Curious , where did you buy those mm300 waffle straps from, I’m having a difficult time tracking one down. Thx
