Thank you for the video! Everything is at the highest level-an excellent description of the biotope and fish. The description of aquatic plants is missing.
Brown stem is Ceratophyllum. Probably C. submersum. Very long stem with bright green leaves is Eichhornia azurea (possibly heterosperma). Submersed water lily might be Nymphaea gardneriana. Best guesses from what I can see.
Mesmerising, I went into a trance with that soundtrack. It's made me appreciate that my aquarium is far too tidy! More leaf litter, more shade and larger shoals of tetras. Was the wonderful red plant Cabomba furcata? Thank you so much.
@@richardwebb9532 that's interesting! I found that when I put it under aquarium lights in Brazil, it went green...I find this is the same with the Ludwigia inclinata we have there and with the Myriophyllum aquaticum...I wonder why the SA stuff is different!
@@biotopia5319 perhaps iron content in the water? If I want vivid reds, I add an iron supplement.... Our local dog-park has a few dams overrun with hornwort too, and it's all green, no red.....
@@richardwebb9532 That's possible, I don't know what the iron content is here...this region is not known for it's metals but it might be linked to a number of factors. I one bought Ceratophyllum 'Mexico Red' and within days of putting it in my tank in the UK, it turned green...so I'm not sure!
Adrian, depending on the species, it's perfectly possible to give them a suitable, healthy home, but it takes research and care to make sure that everything is appropriate. But of course there are many species that shouldn't be kept in aquaria :)
Most of the fish in the aquarum trade are bred in captivity, either on fish farms or in hobyist aquariums. If a fish shows natural colors and reproduce, it is perfectly happy.
Yeah I totally get what you're saying. I've already dismantled my 3 tanks. It was a very difficult decision but I just couldn't reconcile my love for the natural world with fishkeeping. I might just go back and get a super small aquascape only tank in the future but I'm done with keeping fish just for the sake my viewing pleasure.
@@thrallingFRglory Why, these fish provided that they are not wild caught have no idea what the wild looks like, and life without fear of predation is practically bliss for small fish.
My counry, the Brazil, is very beautiful, thanks for showing us!

Stunning!

@@ludwigiapilosa508 Thank you for the information!
The Pantanal is on my list of places to visit. It didn't even occur to me until now to look into snorkelling opportunities.
Really impressive Greetings from Germany❤🐠
Thank you!
I really enjoyed this video . Actually, I enjoy all of your videos.

Thank you so much.
I see sunken..picnic tables? Piers?...so is this the rainy season and the waters are still crystal clear? What a paradise.
Hey, it's a deck on the riverbank and yes, this was high water season :)
Great background sound; I can almost see the cayman waiting to devour me.
Obviously mother Nature is not a fan of aquascaping. ( thank God !!! )
Super!☺
Que vídeo maravilhoso
HAMMER Dicker! Aber ist es heute auch noch so?!?
Muito TOP!
Love it! My tetra serpae tank is spot on! Do you know the name of the red plant that looks a bit like hornwort and is it a stem plant? 🍻🇿🇦❤️
It is Hornwort, goes red in the tropical sun ;)
@@biotopia5319 I live in South Africa, we have lots of hornwort and lots of sun, no red hornwort....😢

omg,chiclid,tetras,catfish,gupi,snakehead,shark,its amazing,
Hey, no snakeheads or sharks :)
Wonderful! How kind of camera do you use to film these habitats?
Namaste Biotopia. Is there any chance to encounter caimans during the snorkeling?
Yes, there is a good chance of finding one of the three million adult caimans that inhabit the Pantanal
Heaven on Earth
Thanks for sharing. On the Next video, do not move the camera so fast.
Whats the long fish at the water surface at 1:00?
A pike characin. Some Boulengerella species.
@@accept_everything_ I think it's a Needle Nose Gar or some type of a river Needlefish.
You should say the names of the fish
There are so many species and it's not always possible to ID from video, we have more than 330 species in Pantanal.
what river is that in miranda region?
This is filmed in the Salobra river :)
What is the fish at 2:30?
It's a baby Wolf Fish (Hoplias Malabaricus)
Your popular name in Brazil is traíra. It is a predatory ambush fish (6:10)
Someone ever saw Corydoras Pantanalensis in the wild? I always believe these are hybrids just for the money..
Im ashamed i have a tank with fish.
They look infinetly better in the wild, not trapped in a piece of glass.
