Big whoops on the Williams FW07D, first, the car was designed by Patrick Head NOT Frank Williams who was the team owner.
Second it wasn't developed for the 1980 season, it was conceived for the 82 season and tested at Paul Richard between 81 and 82.
Third, it was a successful design that achieved it's goal of lower drag and higher top speed to compete with the more powerful turbo cars.
And lastly, it never raced because FISA banned 6 wheel cars right before the start of the 82 season leading to Williams cobbling together the FW08.
