Great video with excellent information. I was confused about how to get the fluid head off and you covered that. I also read reviews on amazon about the legs giving out, so I’m happy you covered tightening up the legs over time. Just good maintenance advice. Greatly appreciate the details!
I have this and it is difficult for me to "level" it. What I mean is when I swing 180 from left to right, when filming basketball games, the left isn't straight but the right is. And vice versa happens. If the set the right straight, and I swing the camera to the left, the left isn't straight. How do you level it quickly. I also have a cheap amazon tripod and that one is leveled in seconds.
My Fuji XT-4 has an internal level - a line which appears on the rear screen and glows green when the camera is level. Most modern SLRs have an electronic level. I have the Cayer tripod reviewed here and when I want to pan I set the left and right extremes with the ball head so that the level is green for both then lock the ball so that I can pan smoothly. The degree to which this is works as a technique depends on the camber of the floor on which the tripod rests. If it is sloping you will have to adjust the legs so that the levels on the tripod itself indicate that the tripod head is horizontal. This youtube review covered the tripod pretty well. I have been using the Cayer several times a week for video work for 18 months now and have never regretted the purchase.

Appears to be out of production now. Would be great if it matched the 75 inches of the aluminum one, which I'll be receiving soon.
How tall is the mono pod?
On the fluid head, the plate locking lever. Does it pull out to reposition if you camera is in the way?
Yes, it does.
