- Hot off the cover of Wilbon 08, Wilbon finally succumbs to the pressures of being a cover athlete.
Wilbon would later go on to suffer a mild heart attack and miss one week of PTI appearances.

Wilbon didn't have the Madden Curse, Tony just kicked his ass for mocking the penguin dance, and Wilbon got such a bad concussion that he suffered amnesia and couldn't remember the ass kicking.

it's not a coincidence wilbon. it's happened like 10 straight years in a row. and its never been avoided. brett favre was retired and came back. he hurt his arm and then officialy retired. it still lives.

I argue that the madden curse struck again with Favre. Not only did he put green bay through the media ringer, but he blew the last 4 games of the year to cost the jets the playoffs, tore a biceps tendon, and led the league in interceptions (which is something that's par usual for him I might add)
So yeah, until further notice, I'm buying the curse. It doesn't have to be an overt injury in my opinion, but the players do become irrelevant FAST after they are on the cover, at least so far.
2002 - Daunte Culpeper - The season after the game his career went down the drain
2003. Marshall Faulk - injured that year i think
04 - Michael Vick -Jail
05 - Ray Lewis - injured and horrible year 2005-06 season
06- Mcnabb injured his leg
07- Shaun Alexander - Bum ass ending to a career
08 - Vince young- look at him now
09 - Brett Farve - Look at him now.

oh and brett farve was hurt all last season but it just came out the Jets didnt post it.
Also Vince young did get injured that year.

if you are on an ea sports cover, get ready... arenas, pierce, melo, vince, iverson.... ray lewis(well he doesnt count he was bound to get injured), brett favre, vick... it just goes on and on... its not only the madden curse, its the EA curse
well ray lewis is the victum of the madden cruse but he is fit enough in the playoffs to get his 2nd superbowl ring in his final game
I'm thinking in Wilbon's case, his injury and illness should be blamed on Adam Archuleta.
