My time in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico has been terrific and I definitely recommend it as a travel and fishing destination. The town has great culture, restaurants, adventure activities, and of course fishing!
I had a wonderful time in PV with my wife Lauren, her mom Carol and dad Steve. Now I am back home, thousands of miles from PV, but I have tons of great memories and experiences from the trip.
Today I have one more video which I'd like to share with you. Last week while fishing from shore in Puerto Vallarta, shoals of sardines were attacked in the surf by jack crevalles, red snappers, and sierra mackerels. It was an all-out blitz that produced shoulder-to-shoulder fishing conditions!
The scene was similar to the first blitz which I wrote about a couple of weeks ago, but the action was even more intense. Plus we got an up close and personal look at a manta ray which was unintentionally hooked but safely released.

Great video Cape cod. I just purchased a place in PV south of the marina and will be staying during winter from now on. I’m new to surf fishing and having a blast! Red snapper, Jacks, calicos are the primary species I’ve been catching. I can see rooster fish occasionally but haven’t been lucky enough to catch one. The older local gents with the hand lines are pretty skillful and great amigos. It’s paradise!
That's awesome Ed! Congrats! And yes the guys using the hand lines are extremely skilled fishermen. They are also very passionate about what they do. I saw the same guy with a handline out there at sunrise every morning during my trip. It was pretty cool. Keep at it with those roosterfish and I'm sure you'll eventually get one. I was in a condo at Los Muertos beach. The action was filmed between the pier and the river to the north. I'd say any of the hotels along that stretch will put you in a good spot for fishing, shopping, restaurants, bars etc. It's a happening place to say the least.
