This one hit hard. As a truck driver, I can relate to feeling disconnected from society. It’s important to maintain contact and friendships. Stay open hearted, avoid the slide into isolation if at all possible
As a locksmith I unlocked semi trucks sometimes. Sometimes the call took over an hour because the driver really needed to talk. I loved it so much and miss it. I'm retired.
Hey Bob, great minds think alike, I'm 63 , and I've always thought, I could always learn something from someone ,no matter who they are or where they are in life.
Autumn, my journey started as a way to heal my heart after losing my husband. I am part time but I stay on the road as much as I can. When I first began I was sad and lonely. But as time went by through social media I found camping groups. Then I went to meet ups. I have made so many friends along the way. As I travel and meet new friends, my heart has healed from my loss. I adore camping and travel. Every time I go out, I meet and make new friends. It has enriched my life in so many ways. I can't imagine now where I would be today if I hadn't stepped out and took that leap to heal my heart.
I forget the young woman’s name who’s the roving reporter for CRVL. I appreciate her and Bob for bringing this mental health on loneliness together. All the nice folks who share. Thank you 😊
I'm not nomadic, I live in far east Mesa, AZ. I lost my wife 3 years ago during COVID, and I utilize hiking, paddleboarding, and biking as my therapy and get me out of the house since I work an overnight shift at home remotely. Maybe, one of these days, I'll get up the courage to go out and do some real traveling.
Very nice video. So many things that rang true for having a happy life. Having a pet, or pets, is the one thing that always gives comfort. If you have a pet, you’re never alone. John’s story, and the way it affected him, put a lump in my throat, too. Plus, you don’t have to be a nomad to heed the advice in this video. It works for everyone.
How touching. I admire each and every person in this video. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing a bit of your life with me. When Jon was speaking about the two gentlemen who helped and prayed with him I wept. He’s a very special human being- his light shines bright. Blessings to you all
Thanks Autumn, your addition to the channel has been a blessing. Luckily being a bit of a chatty Kathy, meeting people has never been my problem. Your video giving suggestions for those needing that connection is especially helpful during the holidays.
Autumn has put together a wonderful series that will help nomads and those of us living in sticks & bricks as well. I love both of your channels and keep up the great work ❤
Such a thoughtful video, Autumn! 🌍 As a fellow traveler, I know how meaningful it is to build community on the road. These stories show that true connections can thrive anywhere. 🤝💙 Thanks for shining a light on the importance of mental health while exploring the world. Keep sharing these real and heartfelt moments! ✨🚐
Thank you for this one. Talking about loneliness and depression is so important…and even better giving all the remedies one could pursue. 🙏 I appreciate you all! 💕
This video was hard to see end. I am self employed and work alone. I find loneliness on a daily basis. I love going camping and enjoy the out doors. After watching this, I wanted to get out and join the adventure to meet others. Alas, I must continue working for now.
I rarely comment but this pulled my heart strings and answered some of my fears of traveling ALONE. Thank you also for the words of wisdom re learning from everyone. What a great perspective.-----------------Cheers------------Steve
I'm just 1 year in in to my nomad journey.I am doing it alone now I have two Australian shepherds. It keep me company right now. I am looking to join up at the rubber tramp rodeo.
I noticed the light/bright colors, and the amount of outside light in the living spaces shown really lighten the mood. When I camp I I gauge how approachable people are by paying a compliment, or asking a question. How we dress makes us more approachable. Do we hide away like a Hermit? Even short interactions can help my mindset when traveling solo. Having a friendly pet is an icebreaker too (I camp from my motorcycle and can't bring mine- so meeting a dog makes me miss mine less). Even interacting over a beverage, or campfire is a nice diversion. I am an introvert, so I won't overstay my welcome.
This is very inspirational and provided me with hope. Being painfully shy, it is a HUGE ordeal for me to initiate talking to anyone i don't know. If you see someone staying to themselves it just might be they are longing to talk with you but provide all the wrong signals. Except anger. I would not be rude or show anger to those who try to befriend me.
I was too! What helped me was looking for the Facebook group (travel grandma-& she couldn’t actually be there) that I knew was meeting up there. That other group welcomed me. That made the difference for me.
Hoping to make it out the Q this January. My husband has stage 4 lung cancer. I’m bringing him with me for the experience. Might be there around 3 weeks to check it out. It’s a life long dream. ❤ I love the encouragement of the Nomad community. The openness is attractive ❤
I admit I'm a little terrified to take myself on the road. But im coming to quartsite for my maiden voyage! Hoping to make many meaningful connections. I've been waiting for 10 years to make this happen. 😳🤞💪
"There's more happiness in giving, than in receiving." We have two hands, one to help ourselves, and one to help others. Great video! There's so much we can learn from others. Humans who reach out to others and help others are never lonely. 😊
Could you please do a video on how wonderful and helpful it can be to have a CB or GMRS radio in your camper or RV? You can instantly make friends and meet people anywhere you travel, and can also get many tips from other travelers! ;)
I absolutely loved the video Abt Cheryl! I am so happy to see Bob, living his newest best life again! It shocked me! But in a lot of ways, you seem so much happier and excited again! Love this video!! Grateful for you, Bob! I know everyone else is too! ♥️☮️🙏🌈
About to pull the trigger on a cargo trailer. I’m a carpenter/fabricator. I can’t wait to live in a trailer and travel around and help other build out their trailers. Thankful for these videos and knowing there’s a community of likeminded people out there.
i need to meet like minded people. just movedvfull time into rv, live in upstate NY but want to go to quartzite for winter. scarey! ty for this video i hope to get there soon😊
This was a great reminder to get back on FB nomad groups. I will hopefully be heading out at the end of Dec to begin my nomad experience. I'll have to remember to not spend all my time alone in the woods.
OMG, thank you for starting this new & amazing series. I was in tears at the end with John's last words. Sometimes, we need help and a prayer 🙏 Love and Light always Karen 😊and Miles 🐶
Wonderful series, I have been a Van lifter for 2.5 years. I took care of thousands of patients for over 30 years. I also took care of my Mommy and Dada until they died. Took care of my Husband and Dad at the same time. Both died within 3 weeks of each other. Husband was first 😢. Mother had a major stroke and breast cancer. 😢I took her into my house for five years. I stayed in my city and I have my stuffed animals in the van,😂. So I still have my whole family with me.
Great video, very inspiring! I have been planning to be nomadic for many years and finally this year I started (part time for now). I went to the RTR in January of this year for the first time and my first adventure as a nomad and even though I am introverted, I met so many new people and made some new friends. The community truly is very welcoming and helpful. I am excited to finally get my house sold (hopefully this spring) and be closer to full time nomadic! See you all down the road!!
Another great video! Thanks for keeping things positive here! I have been fortunate enough to have traveled the world and so many people have helped me in so many ways. We are a good species and we can continue to care for each other in our own individual ways by sharing our knowledge and skills. Keep up the good work!
Best video yet!! Real people living real lives and sharing themselves ... loved it! I don't drive but feel drawn to live in a camper surrounded by trees and nature, sounds perfect to me, and yes, get a dog!!! Thank you all very much !!
This was absolutely what I needed ! I’m taking my small squaredrop down to Oregon in December, and then to Quartzite ( just to say I’ve been there) and several other places in Arizona. I’m sure this was off the charts helpful for so many people.
These are all good tips ❤i love the ending and the story of the prayer he shared at the end. ❤ it just shows how an act of kindness and the love of God can make a big difference in a person's life
Gardening is super important to me, so I'll probably not go full nomad, but I sure hope to connect with the community in a seasonal way in the future. First step is getting land, living in a DIY hovel behind a friend's house this winter, good fun, super cheap. Working PT, enough to keep saving, then back to super busy gardening season to make headway on the land savings. I want to be able to put a huge percentage down or buy outright, even if I find an owner financing patch. Going to grow so much food on that patch :)
nice video.. i know John.. he is parked down the road from me here now near Quartzsite and came and camped with some of us up In Leadville Co.. it's nice to see how people overcome so many things in life and while travelling :)
What a lovely episode ❤ I'd love to meet all the companion dogs (& cats) maybe you could do a video with their owners introducing them 🐶 and their story
My dad used to say there's nobody in the world so stupid that you couldn't learn something from him, and nobody so smart that you couldn't teach him something.
My partner Carlene and I, are planning to be in Quartzsite for the Women's RTR. We would like to meet some new people. Are there spaces where many of the women will gather to camp, where we could join for a couple weeks while we are there? Thanks so much for this series as well. What a gift to so many who live with some level or challenge with mental health. Blessings.
This crazy period we have all lived through since 2020 I refer to as The Dumb Ages, has had an unexpected benefit to us all. We have reassessed our lives. Made changes. Sought out OTHERS who are like minded but needed help ... FREEDOM loving living men and women.
Amazing content on some of the real opportunities of overcoming mental thoughts that disrupt Our Well Being, Mental Health Matters and keeping Your head in the game is Rewarding, Never lose Your Hope, You’re Never Alone 🙏🙏🙏
Yes there is definitely that thing in common with our community -- that state of being -- that is so helpful to personal growth and health. Thanks for sharing this!
I’m a very part time nomad (would like to be on the move a bit more)- and it strikes me - I also feel such great connection on the road. It’s like as humans we need to break the “chains” of our current rat race to find each other again. LOVE this series. Important work, indeed.
WOW! I appreciate this video it's exactly what I needed to hear. I headed to Ehrenberg the other day to see the area for the first time in my 4 year's of nomadic living. After several avoided "mishaps" OTR & the heightened holiday traffic I left the area for "known" peaceful area. I'll have to work my way back down there. Thank you all for sharing your heart's!
Thank you for doing this video. I’m one of those afraid to take the leap. I went to RTR one time and it was so cold and windy. We were miserable and didn’t know anyone. I retreated after the first day. I need to try again. These are our people, we just need to find them. 😊❤
I love your community! I’ve followed Bob since Covid. If I didn’t have an auto immune problem, I’d be with you all! So, I hope Bob keeps making these videos, so I can at least follow you!
This past year I started dipping my toes into travel/ exploring. I took 30 trips, mostly 3-4 days at a time with a popup trailer, but some others camping out of my truck with a built out shell. As many nomads and their stories have indicated, there will be times of struggle amid our travels. We are often treated to natural beauty and solitude, and have the opportunity for introspection. Loneliness can creep into that, but engaging with others (when able) usually cures that. The kindness of strangers is always present if we simply open ourselves to possibilities and be friendly.
❤love this new series. Thanks
This one made me cry. You guys are doing some really important work here.
Me too ! ( don’t tell anyone). ☺️
😢😢😢 Me too grateful

Yes, Autumn, wonderful woman and Bob, and company.
What is her channel name?
Thanks so much, Bob and Everyone for this nice warm fuzzie sharing video. Happy trails and stay safe all.
I'm lonesome at home. Kids are grown and I feel like I have no purpose and not needed. I think getting back out on the road would do me some good
Thank you for this series, Bob. Its a very important topic. preparedness takes all forms, including mental health

I'm looking for people. Oh, there they are.
This has been en my attitude "learning from every man " since 1992.
Thanks for this video, these tips are helpful nomad or otherwise. So many of us struggle in connecting with the other.
The part about the dog sensing her tears and emotion really touched me. Yes, where would we be without our furry best friend...dogs ❤.

8:58 Sarah life long nomad- I was so excited to see your T-shirt! KU alum here. Full time in my van almost 5 years. RCJH!❤💙
Autumn this is such a good topic. You've done an excellent service to the nomadic
Lifestyle with your videos. Thank you.
Thanks guys!!🎉
