I just realized that Diavolo is the is kind of the opposite of DIO.
The Stardust Crusaders knew who DIO was, but not his power.
Bruno's team knew about KC for awhile, but not the user's identity other than being the Mafioso.
Also there's another ironic chain of events:
Diavolo finds the stand arrows, and sells them off after he gains his power.
One arrow falls into the right hands of Enya Geil, who gives DIO The World.
DIO Has many bastard sons, many of whom have stands, likely due to DIO's own powerful abilities.
One of his sons, Haruno Shiobana, went on to have his mother marry an Italian and have his name changed to Giorno Giovanna.
Giorno eventually developes his stand, and later, with help of one of Diavolo's Arrows, uses it to vanquish the villain.

Uh, yes it does. Some of the instruments chosen as well as some chord progressions give the King Crimson idea, an example being the 2:26 and 3:12 organ(?) segments. That's pure KC. They used an exact sounding organ in some of their songs. Also the 3:34 buildup with the ominous vocals, then the climax 3:38 with the organ/guitar jam.

Vento Aureo seriously had the best fights, and I'm disappointed Diavolo is the only enemy stand user they could bring into the games.

I don't know about you guys, but I loved the hell out of Part 5. I know it's a relatively unpopular opinion, but I liked the cast and the fights. The only thing that dissapointed me was the final fight, it seemed more like an afterthought and rather anticlimatic with Requiem. But, I'm not that bothered by it since there's always the anime, that can make absolutely anything more epic :P
Dude I loved all 6 parts ! I am not that fond of the Boss's death though. Not that Diavolo did not deserve to pay for his crimes, but I seriously thought that his sanction was OVERKILL compared to the prior baddies. Hell, DIO and Yoshikage Kira weren't any less cruel (actually even more if I were only speaking about DIO!) and they somehow got away "easy", but The Boss gets the Kenny McCormick treatment ? COME ON !

But the others ? DIO does genuinely admire Jonathan but he's a Guru with a God complex.
Valentine did not really show much concern about Scarlet when she disappeared, he is married to AMERICA (Fuck yeah !) .
While Pucci was indeed serving DIO, he also was looking for a way to absolve his guilt over what happened to his sister (ruining countless lives in the process...)
But Kira ? Dude, Yoshikage is the EPITOME of self-centeredness ! As long as he can go on with his quiet life and hobby, he does not give a shit about anything really. In contrast , Diavolo, for all his effed up paranoia, only goes against threats to his leadership , he knows full well that too much violence and murders are bad for business. Plus the first time he appears (in shadows), he gives Bruno the chance to get away and forget about Trish, not to mention that he really dislikes the option of calling Cioccolata and Secco. And as Doppio being shredded...even Diavolo participated in the fight against Nero (you can know which one is talking if you pay attention to the eyes !) and puked up blades. Metallica was one haxxed stand !
@@saidi7975 To be fair Diavolo's gang affect a whole country while Yoshikage Kira only effects a small town and DIO failed before he affected to many people. Kars the one who threatened the world the most before he got defeated had the second worst defeat only losing too Diavolo in its overkill.

But there's no time!
Easy way to understand King Crimson/Gold Experience Requiem
King Crimson deletes the cause, leaving the effect. For example, if he shoots a gun, he deletes the cause of the shoot, but keeps the effect of shooting someone, leaving him still to have the bullet.
Gold Experience Requiem is the opposite-- It deletes the effect, while leaving the cause. Thats why Diovolo was left repeating horrible deaths over and over again, because the effect of death never comes, but the cause of it does.
You're 50% right, but 50% wrong too
King Crimson deletes the cause first, deleting the effect in the process, because if he shoots a gun during the time he'll erase, the effect of the shooting will disappear too, that's why he doesn't bother attacking during that portion of time he'll erase. Still, erasing time is good for mobility, as he has Epitaph, he can predict his enemies movements, change positions accordingly, erase time, and backstab then efficiently.
GER is the opposite, when in defensive mode, he deletes the effect first, deleting the cause in the process, that's why the enemies attempts of attacking is rendered to 0, the cause itself is nullified to 0.
When in the offensive however, it works just like you described

I wanted to paste the whole translators trying to explain his power paragraphs in here but that seems 2 ez.

You see, when KFC (STANDS for King Fucking Crimson) activates it's ability , Diavolo can't interact with people or objects. And viceversa. People, let's say Bucciarati punches Diavolo. His fist would just phase Diavolo. Same for objects like bullets. No, people are not aware when he uses his ability.
Thing is, Araki always forgot how he worked. He should work as Jose explained, but when the whole team is fighting Diavolo, SPOILERS FROM HERE, he activates his stand and kills Narancia in the "deleted" time. That's what confused me the most at least.
Well it may be that Narancia just was between the bars during, and after the erased time.
While a bullet would just phase through his body, imagine if a spear just stayed there phasing his body, and time started again the spear staying on the same spot. Though, for that Diavolo would have somehow moved Narancia and that's... How do we call it?

I've been told it's convenient to wash shirts inside-out, and ever since I read the chapter of Doppio taking off his shirt - morphing into Diavolo, I've been doing that gesture before I enter the shower every single time since, LOL
Despite how unpopular Diavolo is for legit reasons, I don't know why I still think of him as one of my favorite Jojo villains. Is it his ridiculous split personality complex? Is it his weird fashion sense? Is it the baffling concept behind King Crimson and how intimidating it looks? Is it Diavolo's insane fights in Part 5?

I would say Diavolo is unpopular for illegitimate reasons.
I think Diavolo is partly considered a bad villain in the fandom due to the horrid scans of Part 5. When you look at it, his role in the plot is very similar to DIO (staying in the shadows for most of the Part, manipulating others then personally appearing at the very end), yet DIO is not trashed by the fandom, despite having vaguer motives than Diavolo (until Part 6 posthumously reveals them).
In fact, many early JoJo villains had problems. Dio and Kars were one-dimensional, DIO was super-vague and barely appeared, Kira only appeared in the second half of his Part and had no relation to the plot before.
What is a more interesting question is that will the anime version of Vento Aureo give more screen-time/cameos to Diavolo? They did something similar with Kira in this season, as he got cameos and subtle references throughout the first half. While it would be difficult to do the same for Diavolo, perhaps a few cameos of his suit-wearing, shadowy version would be possible.
At least Dio isn't ugly
Gábor Hajdu I think that's because we knew Dio back from part 1 when he actually interacted with the protagonist and we saw what was pretty much his whole life: His loss of a mother, his need for power, his rise to power, and finally, his death. For me, my dislike for Diavolo wasn't because of bad scan quality, it is because of his lack of depth compared to Dio or Pucci. From what I can tell, there was no real motivation for him to go evil outside just being a lunatic sociopath who is obsessed with fate. All we saw of his past were him being raised by a priest, then cutting to straight up killing people and manipulation. Araki really could have done more with him, considering that his aspirations are higher than Kira, who is also a homicidal sociopath, but his potential was wasted.
I don't know if they brought in Diavolo's theme in today's new episode, but I hope it becomes a meme like Kira's theme

+Samuraiedge2 Think of it like this: King Crimson can erase time for up to 10 seconds. As an example of how this works, let's just say a drop of water is about of fall off of something and it'll take 10 seconds to reach the ground. When Diavolo erases time, he's essentially getting rid of the 10 second gap it took for the water to reach the ground, and when he gets out of erased time, the drop of water will have already reached the ground. Diavolo can move around during those 10 seconds of erased time and is the only one who can remember the erased time as well, which is why it looks like he's teleporting to the naked eye. Considering King Crimson is as strong as Crazy Diamond, Star Platinum, and The World, this ability, combined with King Crimson's raw power, makes Diavolo very dangerous.

+peder pan Diavolo basically skips time, which in turn eliminates processes. As in, only the effects take place, and only those that would have happened outside the skipped time. For example, let's say somebody tries shooting Diavolo. Diavolo activates KC, and even if he didn't move an inch, he'd be unscathed. The bullet would just appear behind him, as if it just went through him.

peder pan Alright, just think of it as skipping scenes in a movies, and Diavolo is the only one who remembers these skipped scenes. The end result of these "scenes" still happened, but Diavolo erased the very process from existance. He took out the "cause", leaving only the "affect".

11 months. No Vento Aureo yet... I'm really not sure if Diavolo can get villain of the year (what year lol still waiting), as we don't see much of him. Kira is by far the best JoJo villain ever and one of the best villains in fiction, at least for me. If people vote Diavolo, it'll be because of how mad they are for Kira's second place.

Although SBR is my favourite JoJo arc ever, Diavolo is easily my second favourite villain, after Dio (Because Dio.) And dat theme in this game for him... So addictive to listen to.

***** Haven't finished it yet, taking my time to read it to be honest. So far it's not worse than Part 4 but also not better in my opinion. I'm not really a fan of Part 4, so at least for now I'm also not really a fan of Part 5. It's still JoJo though, so I'm gonna continue reading it.
***** I really like Kira as the main antagonist and Josuke isn't bad either, it's more the storytelling itself. There are some scenes which just kinda make no sense and that bugs me.
+Dｅmｏnｉtｅ Part 4 is all about the final battle with Kira. In my opinion, Kira was the only thing that made part 4 so great. The random stands and attacks on Josuke are meh compared with the rest. Part 5 is the complete opposite. The random encounters and the search for Diavolo is the best, but the fight against him is not as good. Personally, as much as I love Kira, Part 5 will always be my top choice, since every enemy and ally was so freaking memorable, and the Fights! Oh the fights.

Diavolo was awesome if he only he (not doppio) had more screen time and a better final show down... and maybe different conclusion.
Its funny how in a weird roundabout way, Diavolo was the cause of his own destruction. He sold the Arrows to Enya who then gave DIO his stand, which caused his children to be born with stands, and DIO's strongest child would eventually be the one to kill Diavolo and become the new boss.

I used to not like Diavolo. It wasn't until a few weeks after finishing Part 5 that I liked the character. I'll never forgive him for killing Doppio, though. "You are my greatest." That boy is everyone's greatest.

Honestly I've just come to the conclusion that "it just works" is indeed the best explanation. KC just feels inconsistent with the way it works. And when I think that a guy changed gender after his introduction at one point, and Dio somehow was in the coffin Erina was in (lol double layers wat), the prez is letting attacks phase through his through squares but then doesn't do that ever again, sand guy becomes sound guy... I just assume KC might have changed it's functions halfway through part5.
