"Hello, sexy" and "there's a monastery" - two phrases it's simultaneously slightly disturbing and hilarious to hear together.
Believe it or not, monks in the Middle Ages (and to a lesser extent nuns as well) did have something of a reputation for philandering, drunkenness, gambling, homosexuality, frequenting houses of prostitution, and general licentiousness; that's what you get when you cram a whole load of men of varying ages and backgrounds, many of whom aren't there by choice, into a single building with easy access to alcohol. The characters of the Monk, the Friar, the Pardoner, and the Nun's Priest in _The Canterbury Tales_ were in keeping with then-current stereotypes.
I love that the world is alive, just zooming in and watching the people go about their day and jobs.
Oh this looks simply wonderful. It's like Dorfromantik, but less puzzle-y, more buildy. I love it.
Agreed. My one gripe about Dorfromantik is it wants lots of small railways and rivers that lead nowhere, and 1-3 tile lakes, and tiny pockets of civilisation, all scrambled together. Getting a continent spanning railway, 25 tile mega lake (with 1/6 to 1/2 tile islands in one corner), and watery tendrils snaking their way across a field of wheat toward a bustling metropolis, requires playing the game mode that's basically cheating.
I also tried doing a run of only placing tiles with matching edges, but instead of a nice pretty land blob, I ended up with a labyrinth of land tendrils that had no way to connect to each other.
@@torgranael Both are puzzle games at heart. The biggest difference is Dorf is a game about building the board from nothing. Terra is about billing on an established board and figuring out how to make it work best for you.

I don't think there is a word for it yet. I choose the punny title of airchipelago.
The word "peninsula" is derived from the Latin for "almost-island"; I suppose it could be applied to flying almost-islands as well as the terrestrial type, no sea required.
I really enjoy seeing Jon play the relaxing games, it's nice to see how much he enjoys worldbuilding snd it's relaxing to watch :)
I'm 11 minutes in and I might have to stop watching cuz I want to play this and DISCOVER more about it myself. This wasn't on my radar AT ALL until now.
With all these comfy games Jon likes to play, I'm waiting for the full on ASMR video to eventually happen.

Love the concept, it's essentially Dorfromantik mixed with Islanders.
I bought this many months ago, I think while still in alpha...and had no clue you could merge things into better things. What the hell was I doing? Thanks Jon!
Finally a game I played before it was featured on the channel, I really enjoyed it, very relaxing

Okay, imagine a game like this where at the end you've got a really nice city, but then it populates the city with an rpg that you can play in first person.
This is such a wholesome game, you can spend hours in it without even noticing.
Bought almost immediately. I'm half tempted to buy the whole catalog from this publisher.

Seeing hexagons makes me want to play Age of Wonders. Theres a newer one i havent tried yet too!

I don't remember what he thought of Dragon Age, but what little I've seen of Veilguard looks more like fantasy Mass Effect. We all know Jon loves Mass Effect, so regardless of what he makes of it, I'd expect to hear at least some sort of acknowledgment when it drops.

Similar price to the other hex based landscape game everyone immediately compares it to. Not bad.

Day 157 of requesting Age of Mythology - a full playthrough of the remake if possible. Hexagons and floating islands? This game was possibly made to lure Jon into some form of trap. If it references Greek literature and includes power rangers at a later point, then I'll be sure.
