Glad you liked it! It's a notorious piece of figure skating. In 2001 Evgeni won the first of his 3 World Figure Skating Championships and this was his performance at the post competition gala. I saw this debut of the program and I have to say, nobody saw this coming!
Christine Colon de Leon omg he was beyond amazing!!! He had an amazing career and he truly loved what he did and it showed :). I'm glad that his retirement is giving him the chance to spend time with and enjoy his little boy who is my son's age (and share the same name too!). Maybe his son will follow in his daddy's footsteps :)
Plush didn't really retire from skating, just from amateur competition. He still has a full roster of skating shows and he's now become a coach, opening his own skating school in Moscow. And yes indeed, they are training his son Sasha to become a skater! You can see video of the boy out here skating if you look up Aleksander Plushenko.

@@bone9jdjkaye Actually Plushenko isn't forcing anything; Sasha likes to skate. I saw the film where Evgeni gave the kid his first custom skates and Sasha was thrilled. In fact his coaches say how hard it is to get the little boy OFF of the ice. Last year Plushenko had a talk with Aleksander and asked him if he wanted to switch to doing another sport; Evgeni's mother had had the same conversation with him when he was young. But like his father, Sasha said he wanted to continue skating. He is a bit young to be in many shows yet and like you, I want to see him with more of his own programs in the future (more are being developed). But if Aleksander is going to be a champion someday, his father is giving him both technical and valuable life experience about how to go about it and what he can expect. Amateur skating is a tough world and it's not for the faint of heart. Plushenko himself waa bullied for a year by the boys in his coach Alexei Mishin's school but Mishin discovered that the boy had strength and resolve. The same thing needs to be determined about Aleksander because the field of men he will face will be very competitive. Ultimately it will be Sasha's decision later to decide if he wants to pursue it or do something different.

Evgeni Plushenko used to be the love of my life but sadly, it didn’t work out because he already had a girlfriend and I was just a normie who doesn’t speak Russian. He really was one of the big reasons I developed an obsession with watching figure skating during the era of Plushenko and Yagudin. All kidding aside I respect the Russians because they have so much heart. I also find them to be very level headed, intelligent, hardworking and thoughtful people who have the inner strength and resilience to endure tough times.

Evgeni Plushenko used to be the love of my life but sadly, it didn’t work out because he already had a girlfriend and I was just a normie who doesn’t speak Russian. He really was one of the big reasons I developed an obsession with watching figure skating during the era of Plushenko and Yagudin. All kidding aside I respect the Russians because they have so much heart. I also find them to be very level headed, intelligent, hardworking and thoughtful people who have the inner strength and resilience to endure tough times.
