Since I booked a Limited in Magnetite Grey in Oct '22, I have poured over nearly every RUclips posting and info on the BRZ as well as GR86. After 6 months, I took delivery end of April this year. I could be the most senior owner of a '22 BRZ (turned 67 yesterday). Having driven Alfa Romeos especially an Alfetta 1.8 saloon back in the 80s, I have not found anything that came close to it's thrill and fun since within the context of life's circumstances and costs, of course. This was the Alfa of the pre-Fiat ownership era. Yes, it was slow compared to my Mercs later and my current Beemers but that Alfa remains the most memorable. Here's a fun fact, the Alfetta 1.8 Saloon was actually 200kg lighter than our current BRZ! With the BRZ now, I have rediscovered the fun and spirit of driving I had missed so much. I am also of the opinion that with the GR86, this would not have been the case as it is set up to appeal more to the 'boy racers'. Besides, the Toyota emblem reminds me of a gnu. Imagine that constantly staring at you from the steering wheel! The BRZ does looks better than the GR86 in the flesh. As mentioned, I have watched every RUclips out there on the subject but I find your channel the most down to earth, unpretentious and appealing. Perhaps it's Aussie and the steering wheel is on the correct side. Keep the posts coming, mate. By the way, if I had seen an example of a red BRZ like yours, I would've gone for the Ignition Red too!
Mano, thank you for taking the time to watch my videos and thank you for your kind words. I'm sure the 80s were a very fun era to grow up in with all those lightweight sports cars! There's plenty more videos to come 😎
Glad you have it finally. My 23 BRZ has been stuck at the port of Melbourne for at least the last 3 weeks. Hopefully I get a call next week to pick it up, but doubt it with Easter.
Got my 23 premium gr86 in red a week ago. In love with it. Already tinted the windows 5% all around and a cat back exhaust. Can’t wait to see what you do to yours. 🎉
Ah true, but you keep yours garaged a lot. Apparently one method of speeding up the off gassing of VOCs is baking in the sun and ventilation lol. Thanks for the reply.
I'm considering GR86 and BRZ as well and some US reviewers say the 86 is easier to slide around with cause of suspension changes and a slightly different throttle mapping.. I'm looking at the Toyota for this reason but I'm still not sure if its worth paying 4-5k for 😭 disappointed that Toyota fked us in Aus with pricing
Honest opinion man. The BRZ looks so good in person I don't even care about the GR86 looks anymore which was my concern. Throttle mapping is honestly easy to tune out or with the use of a throttle controller if you want to keep your warranty. I honestly would not pay an extra 5k for something with the slightest of difference when you could order 5k worth of car parts to make way better 😎
❤❤Looks so charming in red! Btw do you feel the clutch has two stages of force while releasing it? I DID stall it on the way home twice for not being able to find the bite point. Guess had to get used to it for a while😊
Yeah Its going to take me a bit to get used to the clutch but I may end up doing some research into the clutch spring to see if I can change it to be heavier

Damn man thats awesome! I'm thinking between 10-20% tint but not sure yet!
Bold color 🎉 nothing better than the smell of new car. Congrats.
@Lach was red ur first pick of color or you just took what they had, for some reason i tought you would have gotten world rally blue
I had the GR86 ordered initially in white but I saw a demo that was red and fell in love with the colour. So when I ordered the BRZ I chose red 😎
Nice mate, I'm glad u fit in it 😊😂
Just barely fit in... 😅
Random question, how long did it take for the new car smell to disappear? Cheers mate.
I can sorta still smell it now at 5,000 kms. Pretty faint now though.
