  • I was unsure what ER type spindle to get for this little thing. Mixed reviews and many choices. Air or water cooled, KW rating, ect. The Makita seems a bit on the large size but I looked at it like this. If im not happy with the gantry mills performance, I at least have a nice compact wood router to add to the tool collection. This is my first edited video and my first recording with a Gopro 8. Im lacking good lighting so I'll be working on that in the near future.
Thanks for watching my video and have a great day!

Thank you! I just noticed your comment. Its all done in a Bridgeport mill. The tool I used on the final cuts is a fly cutter. Was not necessary but wanted to clean in up a bit.

LOL, you already have a mill thats 100x better in every way than that CNC is going to be... so what's the point of using a better tool to build a worse tool?

      Thank you!
What are you having issues with? Im not so sure i can help much. If you are lacking a mill, you are going to have to find a machine shop to make the mount for you.

Beautifully made! the way the gap closed up when you bolted the router in shows how well you made the mount

which kind of controller you use? how to connect router to the machine i mean power supply?

I use Mach 3 as a controller. The router is just plugged into the wall and I turn it on manually.

What's the diameter of the Makita RT0701C (the area you're clamping)? I'm wanting to see if there are any suitable sizes already on the market~

I have been waiting for the follow up video. I am curious how that machine performs with your added router.

It's coming! Got busy with other things shortly after that video was posted. I did manage to do a few test cuts on aluminum. Seems to work OK. I helix plunged into some aluminum and cut a few pockets with no issues. No enclosure and makes a mess too!
